The Prophet ﷺ seeing a yellow mark (of perfume) on the clothes of ʿAbdur-Rahman bin ʿAuf, said, "What about you?" ʿAbdur-Rahman replied, "I have married a woman with a Mahr of gold equal to a date-stone." The Prophet ﷺ said, "May Allah bestow His Blessing on you (in your marriage). Give a wedding banquet, (Walima) even with one sheep."

رَأَى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ أَثَرَ صُفْرَةٍ فَقَالَ مَهْيَمْ أَوْ مَهْ قَالَ تَزَوَّجْتُ امْرَأَةً عَلَى وَزْنِ نَوَاةٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فَقَالَ بَارَكَ اللَّهُ لَكَ أَوْلِمْ وَلَوْ بِشَاةٍ

ʿAbdur-Rahman bin ʿAuf came to Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he had marks of Sufra (yellow perfume). Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked him (about those marks). ʿAbdurRahman bin ʿAuf told him that he had married a woman from the Ansar. The Prophet ﷺ asked, "How much Mahr did you pay her?" He said, "I paid gold equal to the weight of a date stone." Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, "Give a wedding banquet, even if with one sheep."

أَنَّ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ عَوْفٍ جَاءَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَبِهِ أَثَرُ صُفْرَةٍ فَسَأَلَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَأَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ تَزَوَّجَ امْرَأَةً مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ قَالَ كَمْ سُقْتَ إِلَيْهَا قَالَ زِنَةَ نَوَاةٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَوْلِمْ وَلَوْ بِشَاةٍ

The Prophet ﷺ saw the traces of Sufra (yellow perfume) on ʿAbdur-Rahman bin ʿAuf and said, "What is this?" ʿAbdur-Rahman, said, "I have married a woman and have paid gold equal to the weight of a datestone (as her Mahr). The Prophet ﷺ said to him, "May Allah bless you: Offer a wedding banquet even with one sheep."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ رَأَى عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ أَثَرَ صُفْرَةٍ قَالَ مَا هَذَا قَالَ إِنِّي تَزَوَّجْتُ امْرَأَةً عَلَى وَزْنِ نَوَاةٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ قَالَ بَارَكَ اللَّهُ لَكَ أَوْلِمْ وَلَوْ بِشَاةٍ

What is this? Thereupon he said: Messenger of Allah, I have married a woman for a date-stone's weight of gold. He said: God bless you! Hold a wedding feast, even if only with a sheep.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ رَأَى عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ أَثَرَ صُفْرَةٍ فَقَالَ مَا هَذَا قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي تَزَوَّجْتُ امْرَأَةً عَلَى وَزْنِ نَوَاةٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ قَالَ فَبَارَكَ اللَّهُ لَكَ أَوْلِمْ وَلَوْ بِشَاةٍ

Give a feast even with a sheep.

أَنَّ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ عَوْفٍ تَزَوَّجَ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَلَى وَزْنِ نَوَاةٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَوْلِمْ وَلَوْ بِشَاةٍ

"How much did you give her?" He said: "A Nawah (five Dirhams) of gold." The Messenger of Allah said: "Give a Walimah (wedding feast) even if it is with one sheep."

"The Messenger of Allah saw traces of yellow perfume on 'Abdur-Rahman and said: 'What is this?' He said: 'I married a woman for a Nawah (five Dirhams) of gold.' He said: 'May Allah bless you. Give a Walimah (wedding feast) even if it is with one sheep.'"

"The Messenger of Allah saw a trace of yellow perfume on me" -as if he meant 'Abdur-Rahman bin 'Awf- "and said: 'What's this for?' He said: 'I have married a woman from among the Ansar.' He said: 'Give a Walimah (wedding feast) even if it is with one sheep.'"

رَأَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَلَىَّ كَأَنَّهُ يَعْنِي عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ عَوْفٍ أَثَرَ صُفْرَةٍ فَقَالَ مَهْيَمْ قَالَ تَزَوَّجْتُ امْرَأَةً مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ فَقَالَ أَوْلِمْ وَلَوْ بِشَاةٍ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw the trace of yellow on 'Abd al-Rahman b. 'Awf. The Prophet ﷺ said: What is this ? He replied: Messenger of Allah, I have married a woman. He asked: How much dower did you give her ? He said: A nawat weight of gold. He said: Hold a wedding feast, even if only with a sheep.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ رَأَى عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ عَوْفٍ وَعَلَيْهِ رَدْعُ زَعْفَرَانٍ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مَهْيَمْ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ تَزَوَّجْتُ امْرَأَةً قَالَ مَا أَصْدَقْتَهَا قَالَ وَزْنَ نَوَاةٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ قَالَ أَوْلِمْ وَلَوْ بِشَاةٍ

The Messenger of Allah saw some traces of saffron on ʿAbdur-Rahman bin ʿAwf so he said: 'What is this?' He said: 'I married a woman for the amount of gold equal to a date stone.' So he said: 'May Allah bless you. Have a banquet, even if with only one sheep.'"

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ رَأَى عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ أَثَرَ صُفْرَةٍ فَقَالَ مَا هَذَا فَقَالَ إِنِّي تَزَوَّجْتُ امْرَأَةً عَلَى وَزْنِ نَوَاةٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فَقَالَ بَارَكَ اللَّهُ لَكَ أَوْلِمْ وَلَوْ بِشَاةٍ قَالَ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ وَعَائِشَةَ وَجَابِرٍ وَزُهَيْرِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ

the Prophet saw traces of yellow perfume on 'Abdur-Rahmaan bin 'Awf, and he asked him “What is this?” He said: “O Messenger of Allah, I married a women for the weight of a Nawah (Stone) of gold. He said: “May Allah bless you. Give a feast even if it is only with one sheep.”

صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ سَعْدِ بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ فَعَرَضَ عَلَيْهِ سَعْدٌ فَقَالَ لَهُ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بَارَكَ اللَّهُ لَكَ دُلَّنِي عَلَى السُّوقِ فَدَلَّهُ عَلَى السُّوقِ فَاشْتَرَى وَبَاعَ فَرَأَى النَّبِيّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَثَرَ صُفْرَةٍ فَقَالَ مَهْيَمْ أَوْ كَلِمَةً نَحْوَهَا فَقَالَ يَا رَسولَ اللهِ تَزَوَّجْتُ امْرَأَةً عَلَى وَزْنِ نَوَاةٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فَقَالَ النَّبِيّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عليه وسلم أولم ولو بشاة
