The Prophet ﷺ saw the traces of Sufra (yellow perfume) on ʿAbdur-Rahman bin ʿAuf and said, "What is this?" ʿAbdur-Rahman, said, "I have married a woman and have paid gold equal to the weight of a datestone (as her Mahr). The Prophet ﷺ said to him, "May Allah bless you: Offer a wedding banquet even with one sheep."

ʿAbdur-Rahman bin ʿAuf came to Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he had marks of Sufra (yellow perfume). Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked him (about those marks). ʿAbdurRahman bin ʿAuf told him that he had married a woman from the Ansar. The Prophet ﷺ asked, "How much Mahr did you pay her?" He said, "I paid gold equal to the weight of a date stone." Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, "Give a wedding banquet, even if with one sheep."

The Prophet ﷺ seeing a yellow mark (of perfume) on the clothes of ʿAbdur-Rahman bin ʿAuf, said, "What about you?" ʿAbdur-Rahman replied, "I have married a woman with a Mahr of gold equal to a date-stone." The Prophet ﷺ said, "May Allah bestow His Blessing on you (in your marriage). Give a wedding banquet, (Walima) even with one sheep."

"How much did you give her?" He said: "A Nawah (five Dirhams) of gold." The Messenger of Allah said: "Give a Walimah (wedding feast) even if it is with one sheep."

"The Messenger of Allah saw a trace of yellow perfume on me" -as if he meant 'Abdur-Rahman bin 'Awf- "and said: 'What's this for?' He said: 'I have married a woman from among the Ansar.' He said: 'Give a Walimah (wedding feast) even if it is with one sheep.'"

abudawud:2109 – Mūsá b. Ismāʿīl > Ḥammād > Thābit al-Bunānī And Ḥumayd > Anas

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw the trace of yellow on 'Abd al-Rahman b. 'Awf. The Prophet ﷺ said: What is this ? He replied: Messenger of Allah, I have married a woman. He asked: How much dower did you give her ? He said: A nawat weight of gold. He said: Hold a wedding feast, even if only with a sheep.  

أبو داود:٢١٠٩ – حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ وَحُمَيْدٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ رَأَى عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ عَوْفٍ وَعَلَيْهِ رَدْعُ زَعْفَرَانٍ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مَهْيَمْ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ تَزَوَّجْتُ امْرَأَةً قَالَ مَا أَصْدَقْتَهَا قَالَ وَزْنَ نَوَاةٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ قَالَ أَوْلِمْ وَلَوْ بِشَاةٍ

The Messenger of Allah saw some traces of saffron on ʿAbdur-Rahman bin ʿAwf so he said: 'What is this?' He said: 'I married a woman for the amount of gold equal to a date stone.' So he said: 'May Allah bless you. Have a banquet, even if with only one sheep.'"  

الترمذي:١٠٩٤ – حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ رَأَى عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ صُفْرَةً فَقَالَ «مَا هَذِهِ الصُّفْرَةُ؟» قَالَ تَزَوَّجْتُ امْرَأَةً عَلَى وَزْنِ نَوَاةٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ قَالَ «بَارَكَ اللَّهُ لَكَ أَوْلِمْ وَلَوْ بِشَاةٍ»

[Machine] "Indeed, the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said to Abdur Rahman ibn Awf when he saw a smallpox scar on him, 'Have you contracted chickenpox?' He replied, 'No, I got married.' The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said, 'You should have been treated even if it was with a sheep."  

الدارمي:٢١٠٨ – أَخْبَرَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ أَنْبَأَنَا حُمَيْدٌ عَنْ أَنَسٍ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لِعَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ وَرَأَى عَلَيْهِ وَضَرًا مِنْ صُفْرَةٍ «مَهْيَمْ؟» قَالَ تَزَوَّجْتُ قَالَ «أَوْلِمْ وَلَوْ بِشَاةٍ»

الكبرى للنسائي:٥٥٣٤ – أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ وَهُوَ ابْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ رَأَى عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَثَرَ صُفْرَةٍ فَقَالَ «مَا هَذَا؟» قَالَ تَزَوَّجْتُ امْرَأَةً عَلَى وَزْنِ نَوَاةٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فَقَالَ «بَارَكَ اللهُ لَكَ أَوْلِمْ وَلَوْ بِشَاةٍ»

"The Messenger of Allah saw a trace of yellow perfume on me" -as if he meant 'Abdur-Rahman bin 'Awf- "and said: 'What's this for?' He said: 'I have married a woman from among the Ansar.' He said: 'Give a Walimah (wedding feast) even if it is with one sheep.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 3374)   

الكبرى للنسائي:٥٥٣٥ – أَخْبَرَنِي أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ الْوَزِيرِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ كَثِيرِ بْنِ عُفَيْرٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِلَالٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ الطَّوِيلِ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ

رَأَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَثَرَ صُفْرَةٍ فَقَالَ «مَهْيَمْ» قَالَ تَزَوَّجْتُ امْرَأَةً مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ فَقَالَ «أَوْلِمْ وَلَوْ بِشَاةٍ» مُخْتَصَرٌ

The Prophet ﷺ saw the traces of Sufra (yellow perfume) on ʿAbdur-Rahman bin ʿAuf and said, "What is this?" ʿAbdur-Rahman, said, "I have married a woman and have paid gold equal to the weight of a datestone (as her Mahr). The Prophet ﷺ said to him, "May Allah bless you: Offer a wedding banquet even with one sheep." (Using translation from Bukhārī 5155)

the Prophet saw traces of yellow perfume on 'Abdur-Rahmaan bin 'Awf, and he asked him “What is this?” He said: “O Messenger of Allah, I married a women for the weight of a Nawah (Stone) of gold. He said: “May Allah bless you. Give a feast even if it is only with one sheep.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1907)   

البيهقي:١٣٨٤٠ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ أنبأ أَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ الْأَعْرَابِيِّ ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ الزَّعْفَرَانِيُّ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبَّادٍ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ ؓ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ رَأَى عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَثَرَ صُفْرَةٍ فَقَالَ مَا هَذَا يَا أَبَا مُحَمَّدٍ؟ قَالَ تَزَوَّجْتُ امْرَأَةً عَلَى وَزْنِ نَوَاةٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ قَالَ بَارَكَ اللهُ لَكَ أَوْلِمْ وَلَوْ بِشَاةٍ أَخْرَجَاهُ فِي الصَّحِيحِ مِنْ حَدِيثِ حَمَّادِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ

What is this? Thereupon he said: Messenger of Allah, I have married a woman for a date-stone's weight of gold. He said: God bless you! Hold a wedding feast, even if only with a sheep. (Using translation from Muslim 1427a)   

البيهقي:١٤٤٩٨ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى أنبأ حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ؓ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ رَأَى عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ ؓ أَثَرَ صُفْرَةٍ فَقَالَ مَا هَذَا؟ قَالَ إِنِّي تَزَوَّجْتُ امْرَأَةً عَلَى وَزْنِ نَوَاةٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ قَالَ فَبَارَكَ اللهُ لَكَ أَوْلِمْ وَلَوْ بِشَاةٍ  

رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ يَحْيَى وَأَخْرَجَهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ عَنْ مُسَدَّدٍ عَنْ حَمَّادٍ كَمَا مَضَى

The Prophet ﷺ seeing a yellow mark (of perfume) on the clothes of ʿAbdur-Rahman bin ʿAuf, said, "What about you?" ʿAbdur-Rahman replied, "I have married a woman with a Mahr of gold equal to a date-stone." The Prophet ﷺ said, "May Allah bestow His Blessing on you (in your marriage). Give a wedding banquet, (Walima) even with one sheep." (Using translation from Bukhārī 6386)   

البيهقي:١٤٣٦٠ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمُقْرِئُ أنبأ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ثنا يُوسُفُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الْقَاضِي ثنا أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ وَمُسَدَّدٌ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ يَزِيدُ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ قَالُوا ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ ؓ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ رَأَى عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ أَثَرَ صُفْرَةٍ فَقَالَ مَهْيَمْ أَوْ مَهْ؟ فَقَالَ تَزَوَّجْتُ امْرَأَةً قَالَ عَلَى كَمْ؟ قَالَ عَلَى وَزْنِ نَوَاةٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ قَالَ بَارَكَ اللهُ لَكَ أَوْلِمْ وَلَوْ بِشَاةٍ
