that the Prophet ﷺ distributed among his companions some animals for sacrifice (to be slaughtered on ʿId-al-Adha). ʿUqba's share was a Jadha'a (a six month old goat). ʿUqba said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! I get in my share of Jadha'a (a six month old ram)." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Slaughter it as a sacrifice."

قَسَمَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بَيْنَ أَصْحَابِهِ ضَحَايَا فَصَارَتْ لِعُقْبَةَ جَذَعَةٌ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَارَتْ جَذَعَةٌ قَالَ ضَحِّ بِهَا

Messenger of Allah ﷺ distributed sacrificial animals (amongst us for sacrificing them on 'Id al-Adha). So we sacrificed them. There fell to my lot a lamb of less than one year I said: Messenger of Allah, there has fallen to my lot a lamb (Jadha'a), whereupon he said: Sacrifice that.

قَسَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِينَا ضَحَايَا فَأَصَابَنِي جَذَعٌ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّهُ أَصَابَنِي جَذَعٌ فَقَالَ ضَحِّ بِهِ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ distributed sacrificial animals among his Companions. He gave me a kid (of less than a year). I took it to him and said: This is a kid. He said: Sacrifice it. so I sacrificed it.

قَسَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي أَصْحَابِهِ ضَحَايَا فَأَعْطَانِي عَتُودًا جَذَعًا قَالَ فَرَجَعْتُ بِهِ إِلَيْهِ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ إِنَّهُ جَذَعٌ قَالَ ضَحِّ بِهِ فَضَحَّيْتُ بِهِ

the Messenger of Allah divided some sacrificial animals among his Companions, and I got a Jadh'ah sheep. I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I got a Jadh'ah sheep.' He said: 'Sacrifice it."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَسَّمَ بَيْنَ أَصْحَابِهِ ضَحَايَا فَصَارَتْ لِي جَذَعَةٌ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَارَتْ لِي جَذَعَةٌ فَقَالَ ضَحِّ بِهَا

"The Messenger of Allah divided some sacrificial animals among his Companions, and I got a Jadh'ah sheep. I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I got a Jadh'ah sheep.' He said: 'Sacrifice it.""

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ distributed the sacrifices among his companions. Uqbah ibn Amir received a leg. He asked the Prophet ﷺ about it, and he said to give it as charity.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَسَمَ ضَحَايَا بَيْنَ أَصْحَابِهِ فَأَصَابَ عُقْبَةُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ جَذَعَةً فَسَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَنْهَا فَقَالَ ضَحِّ بِهَا

“You sacrifice it yourself.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3138)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَعْطَاهُ غَنَمًا فَقَسَمَهَاعَلَى أَصْحَابِهِ ضَحَايَا فَبَقِيَ عَتُودٌ مِنْهَا فَذَكَرَهُ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ ضَحِّ بِهِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ distributed the spoils between his companions, and Oqba Ibn Aamir received a trunk. I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I also received a trunk." He said, "Distribute it."

قَسَمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ ضَحَايَابَيْنَ أَصْحَابِهِ فَصَارَ لِعُقْبَةَ جَذَعَةٌ قَالَ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي صَارَتْ لِي جَذَعَةٌ قَالَ ضَحِّ بِهَا

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ took an oath with his companions to sacrifice sheep for the offering. He gave me a male kid from the goats, so I brought it to him and said, "O Messenger of Allah, it is a young one." He said, "Sacrifice it."

قَسَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي أَصْحَابِهِ غَنَمًا لِلضَّحَايَا فَأَعْطَانِي عَتُودًا مِنَ الْمَعْزِ فَجِئْتُهُ بِهِ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّهُ جَذَعٌ فَقَالَ «ضَحِّ بِهِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ distributed sheep among his companions, and he gave me a young goat. I asked him, "O Messenger of Allah, should I sacrifice it?" As it is a young goat from the goats. He said, "Yes." So, I sacrificed it.

قَسَّمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى أَصْحَابِهِ غَنَمًا فَأَعْطَانِي عَتُودًا جَذَعًا فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أُضَحِّي بِهَا؟ فَإِنَّهَا جَذَعَةٌ مِنَ الْمَعْزِ فَقَالَ «نَعَمْ» فَضَحَّيْتُ بِهَا

[AI] "That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ distributed sacrificial animals among his companions, and he gave me a camel. I found it to be skinny, so I returned to him and said, 'O Messenger of Allah, it is skinny.' He said, 'Sacrifice it.'"

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَسَّمَ فِي أَصْحَابِهِ ضَحَايَا فَأَعْطَانِي عَتُودًا فَوَجَدْتُهُ جَذَعًا فَرَجَعْتُ إِلَيْهِ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ هُوَ جَذَعٌ فَقَالَ «ضَحِّ بِهِ»

[AI] The Prophet of Allah ﷺ distributed sacrificial animals among his companions. Ukba narrated that he received a part of a slaughtered animal, so he said, "O Messenger of Allah, I received a part of a slaughtered animal." The Prophet said, "Sacrifice it (for Allah)."

[AI] The messenger of Allah ﷺ distributed sheep to his companions, and he gave me a young goat. He said, "Sacrifice it." I said, "Can I sacrifice it? It is a young goat." He said, "Yes, sacrifice it." So, I sacrificed it, according to the narration of Al-Wahbi, but it is not mentioned in the narration of Abu Dawood whether it was a goat or not.
