[Machine] Ali came with a bowl full of wine and drank it during Ramadan, then he broke his fast. So he was beaten eighty times.  

البيهقي:١٧٥٤٦ – قَالَ وَحَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي مَرْوَانَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

أُتِيَ عَلِيٌّ ؓ بِالنَّجَاشِيِّ قَدْ شَرِبَ خَمْرًا فِي رَمَضَانَ فَأَفْطَرَ فَضَرَبَهُ ثَمَانِينَ ثُمَّ  

أَخْرَجَهُ مِنَ الْغَدِ فَضَرَبَهُ عِشْرِينَ وَقَالَ إِنَّمَا ضَرَبْتُكَ هَذِهِ الْعِشْرِينَ لِجُرْأَتِكَ عَلَى اللهِ وَإِفْطَارِكَ فِي شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ

"عَنْ أَبِى مَرْوانَ أَنَّ عَلِيّا ضَرَبَ النَّجَاشِيَّ الحَارِثيَّ الشَّاعِرَ (ثم حبسه كان)، وَشَرِبَ الخَمْرَ فِى رَمَضانَ فَضَرَبَهُ ثَمَانِينَ جَلْدَةً، ثُمَّ حَبَسَهُ، وأخْرَجَهُ مِنَ الغَدِ فَجَلَدهُ عَشْرِينَ وَقَالَ: إنَّمَا جَلَدْتُكَ هَذِه العشْرِينَ لجُرْأَتِكَ عَلى الله وإفْطَارِكَ فِى رَمَضانَ".
