"عَنْ أَبِى مَرْوانَ أَنَّ عَلِيّا ضَرَبَ النَّجَاشِيَّ الحَارِثيَّ الشَّاعِرَ (ثم حبسه كان)، وَشَرِبَ الخَمْرَ فِى رَمَضانَ فَضَرَبَهُ ثَمَانِينَ جَلْدَةً، ثُمَّ حَبَسَهُ، وأخْرَجَهُ مِنَ الغَدِ فَجَلَدهُ عَشْرِينَ وَقَالَ: إنَّمَا جَلَدْتُكَ هَذِه العشْرِينَ لجُرْأَتِكَ عَلى الله وإفْطَارِكَ فِى رَمَضانَ".
