[Machine] He informed me that he heard Muawiyah on the pulpit in Mecca saying that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbid wearing gold and silk.  

أحمد:١٦٨٧٢حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي حُسَيْنٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَلِيَّ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ أَنَّ عَلِيَّ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ رَجُلٌ مِنْ بَنِي عَبْدِ شَمْسٍ وَعَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عُمَرُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ أَنَّ عَلِيَّ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ أَبَاهُ

أَخْبَرَهُ أنه قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مُعَاوِيَةَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ بِمَكَّةَ يَقُولُ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ لُبْسِ الذَّهَبِ وَالْحَرِيرِ
