that he asked Anas bin Malik: "Did the Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ use to shake each other's hand?" He said, "Yes."

Abū ʿĪsá said that this Ḥadīth is Ḥasan-Ṣaḥīḥ.

الترمذي:٢٧٢٩ – حَدَّثَنَا سُوَيْدٌ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ أَخْبَرَنَا هَمَّامٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَالَ

قُلْتُ لأَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ هَلْ كَانَتِ الْمُصَافَحَةُ فِي أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ نَعَمْ

قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ

I asked Anas, "Was it a custom of the companions of the Prophet ﷺ to shake hands with one another?" He said, "Yes."

البخاري:٦٢٦٣ – حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَاصِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَالَ

قُلْتُ لأَنَسٍ أَكَانَتِ الْمُصَافَحَةُ فِي أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ نَعَمْ

ذِكْرُ إِبَاحَةِ الْمُصَافَحَةِ لِلْمُسْلِمِينَ عِنْدَ السَّلَامِ

ibnhibban:492 – Aḥmad b. ʿAlī b. al-Muthanná > Hudbah b. Khālid > Hammām > Qatādah
