[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said to a man who embraced Islam, "Verily, I find myself hateful." He (the man) said, "Even if you feel hateful."
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لِرَجُلٍ أَسْلِمْ قَالَ إِنِّي أَجِدُنِي كَارِهًا قَالَ وَإِنْ كُنْتَ كَارِهًا
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said to a man who embraced Islam, "Verily, I find myself hateful." He (the man) said, "Even if you feel hateful."
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لِرَجُلٍ أَسْلِمْ قَالَ إِنِّي أَجِدُنِي كَارِهًا قَالَ وَإِنْ كُنْتَ كَارِهًا
[Machine] We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he would praise and glorify those among us who deserved it, and no one would object to it.
كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يُهِلُّ الْمُهِلُّ مِنَّا فَلَا يُنْكِرُ عَلَيْهِ وَيُكَبِّرُ الْمُكَبِّرُ مِنَّا فَلَا يُنْكِرُ عَلَيْهِ
'A'isha reported that Allah's Apostle ﷺ forbade (the preparation) of Nabidh in gourd and varnished jar. (Using translation from Muslim 1995b)
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الدُّبَّاءِ وَالْمُزَفَّتِ وَأَنْ يُنْبَذَ فِيهِ
“The last glance that I had of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was when he drew back the curtain on Monday, and I saw his face as if it was a page of the Mushaf (Qur’an), and the people were praying behind Abu Bakr. He (Abu Bakr) wanted to move, but he (the Prophet ﷺ) gestured to him to stand firm. Then he let the curtain fall, and he died at the end of that day.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1624)
آخِرُ نَظْرَةٍ نَظَرْتُهَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ الِاثْنَيْنِ كَشَفَ السِّتَارَةَ وَالنَّاسُ خَلْفَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ فَنَظَرْتُ إِلَى وَجْهِهِ كَأَنَّهُ وَرَقَةُ مُصْحَفٍ فَأَرَادَ النَّاسُ أَنْ يَتَحَرَّكُوا فَأَشَارَ إِلَيْهِمْ أَنْ اثْبُتُوا وَيَلْقَى السَّجْفَ وَتُوُفِّيَ فِي آخِرِ ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ ﷺ
“The Imam is appointed to be followed. When he says Allahu Akbar, then say Allahu Akbar; when he bows, then bow; when he says Sami’ Allahu liman hamidah, then say Rabbana wa lakal-hamd; when he prostrates then prostrate; and if he prays sitting down then pray sitting down.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1238)
سَقَطَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مِنْ فَرَسٍ فَجُحِشَ شِقُّهُ الْأَيْمَنُ فَدَخَلْنَا عَلَيْهِ نَعُودُهُ فَحَضَرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَصَلَّى قَاعِدًا وَصَلَّيْنَا قُعُودًا فَلَمَّا قَضَى الصَّلَاةَ قَالَ إِنَّمَا الْإِمَامُ لِيُؤْتَمَّ بِهِ فَإِذَا كَبَّرَ فَكَبِّرُوا وَإِذَا رَكَعَ فَارْكَعُوا وَقَالَ سُفْيَانُ مَرَّةً فَإِذَاسَجَدَ فَاسْجُدُوا وَإِذَا قَالَ سَمِعَ اللهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ فَقُولُوا رَبَّنَا وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ وَإِنْ صَلَّى قَاعِدًا فَصَلُّوا قُعُودًا أَجْمَعُونَ
[Machine] A man asked the Prophet ﷺ about the Hour (Day of Judgment). He said, "What have you prepared for it?" The man replied, "I have not prepared anything for it, except that I love Allah and His Messenger." The Prophet ﷺ said, "A person will be with those whom he loves." Sufyan (a companion) then said, "Once again, are you going to be with those whom you love?"
أَنَّ رَجُلًا سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَنِ السَّاعَةِ فَقَالَ مَا أَعْدَدْتَ لَهَا؟ قَالَ مَا أَعْدَدْتُ لَهَا مِنْ شَيْءٍ وَقَالَ سُفْيَانُ مَرَّةً مَا أَعْدَدْتُ لَهَا كَبِيرَ شَيْءٍ وَلَكِنِّي أُحِبُّ اللهَ وَرَسُولَهُ قَالَ الْمَرْءُ مَعَ مَنْ أَحَبَّ وَقَالَ سُفْيَانُ مَرَّةً أُخْرَى أَنْتَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ
When the supper is brought and the prayer begins, one, should first take food. (Using translation from Muslim 557a)
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا حَضَرَ الْعَشَاءُ وَأُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَابْدَءُوا بِالْعَشَاءِ
“If food is ready and the Iqamah is being given, then start with the food.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 935)
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِذَا حَضَرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ وَحَضَرَ الْعَشَاءُ فَابْدَءُوا بِالْعَشَاءِ
[Machine] According to Aisha, when the dinner is served and the prayer is established, start with dinner.
عَنْ عَائِشَةَ تَبْلُغُ بِهِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ إِذَا وُضِعَ الْعَشَاءُ وَأُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَابْدَءُوا بِالْعَشَاءِ
The Apostle of Allah (may peace he upon him) came to Medina when I was ten years old and he died when I was twenty years old. My mother exhorted me to serve him. He (the Holy Prophet) came to our house, and we ruined a flabby goat for him and mixed it (the milk) with water from the well of the house. Messenger of Allah ﷺ drank that. Umar and Abu Bakr on his left side said to him: Messenger of Allah, give it to Abu Bakr, but he (the Holy Prophet) gave it to the desert Arab who was on his right. Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: He who is on the right, then he who is on the right. (Using translation from Muslim 2029b)
قَدِمَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَأَنَا ابْنُ عَشْرٍ وَمَاتَ وَأَنَا ابْنُ عِشْرِينَ وَكُنَّ أُمَّهَاتِي تَحُثُّنِي عَلَى خِدْمَتِهِ فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْنَا فَحَلَبْنَا لَهُ مِنْ شَاةٍ دَاجِنٍ وَشِيبَ لَهُ مِنْ بِئْرٍ فِي الدَّارِ وَأَعْرَابِيٌّ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ وَعُمَرُ نَاحِيَةً فَشَرِبَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ أَعْطِ أَبَا بَكْرٍ فَنَاوَلَ الْأَعْرَابِيَّ وَقَالَ الْأَيْمَنُ فَالْأَيْمَنُ
The Prophet ﷺ held a wedding feast for Safiyyah with meal and dates. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3744)
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَوْلَمَ عَلَى صَفِيَّةَ بِتَمْرٍ وَسَوِيقٍ
Three things follow the bier of a dead man. Two of them come back and one is left with him: the members of his family, wealth and his good deeds. The members of his family and wealth come back and the deeds alone are left with him. (Using translation from Muslim 2960)
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ يَتْبَعُ الْمَيِّتَ ثَلَاثٌ أَهْلُهُ وَمَالُهُ وَعَمَلُهُ فَيَرْجِعُ اثْنَانِ وَيَبْقَى وَاحِدٌ يَرْجِعُ أَهْلُهُ وَمَالُهُ وَيَبْقَى عَمَلُهُ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not find on the expedition what he found among them, they were called the Qurra. Sufyan said, "We descended among them and told our people that we are satisfied and they are satisfied with us." It was said to Sufyan, "In who did it descend?" He said, "It descended upon the people of Bi'r Ma'una."
مَا وَجَدَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى سَرِيَّةٍ مَا وَجَدَ عَلَيْهِمْ كَانُوا يُسَمَّوْنَ الْقُرَّاءَ قَالَ سُفْيَانُ نَزَلَ فِيهِمْ بَلِّغُوا قَوْمَنَا عَنَّا أَنَّا قَدْ رَضِينَا وَرَضِيَ عَنَّا قِيلَ لِسُفْيَانَ فِيمَنْ نَزَلَتْ؟ قَالَ فِي أَهْلِ بِئْرِ مَعُونَةَ
[Machine] I heard Anas saying, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not experience anything like what the seventy who fell into the well of Ma'unah experienced."
سَمِعْتُ أَنَسًا يَقُولُ مَا وَجَدَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مِثْلَ مَا وَجَدَ عَلَى السَّبْعِينَ الَّذِينَ أُصِيبُوا بِبِئْرِ مَعُونَةَ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ made a covenant between the Muhajireen and the Ansar in our abode. Sufyan said, "It seemed like he was saying, 'He showed brotherhood.'"
حَالَفَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بَيْنَ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ وَالْأَنْصَارِ فِي دَارِنَا قَالَ سُفْيَانُ كَأَنَّهُ يَقُولُ آخَى
[Machine] "The Prophet ﷺ was on a journey and he had a camel called Anjasha. Um Anas was with them, so he said, 'O Anjasha, be gentle with the containers.'"
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ فِي سَفَرٍ وَكَانَ لَهُ حَادٍ يُقَالُ لَهُ أَنْجَشَةُ وَكَانَتْ أُمُّ أَنَسٍ مَعَهُمْ فَقَالَ يَا أَنْجَشَةُ رُوَيْدَكَ بِالْقَوَارِيرِ
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ heard the call of "Labbaik" in the open desert, responding to it declaring "Labbaik" for both Umrah and Hajj together.
سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يُلَبِّي بِالْبَيْدَاءِ لَبَّيْكَ بِعُمْرَةٍ وَحَجَّةٍ مَعًا
“Labbaika bi-‘Umratin wa hajjatin [Here I am (O Allah), for ‘Umrah and Hajj].” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2969)
أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَبَّيْكَ بِعُمْرَةٍ وَحَجٍّ»
[Machine] Ukaydir gave a gift of a beautiful robe to the Prophet, ﷺ . People marvelled at its beauty, and he said, "The handkerchief of Saad in Paradise is better or more beautiful than it."
أَهْدَى أُكَيْدِرُ دُومَةَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ يَعْنِي حُلَّةً فَعَجِبَ النَّاسُ مِنْ حُسْنِهَا فَقَالَ لَمِنْدِيلُ سَعْدٍ فِي الْجَنَّةِ خَيْرٌ أَوْ أَحْسَنُ مِنْهَا
"I prayed Zuhr with the Prophet ﷺ in Al-Madinah, four Rak'ahs and 'Asr in Dhul-Hulaifah, two Rak'ahs." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 469)
سَمِعْنَا أَنَسًا يَقُولُ صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ بِالْمَدِينَةِ أَرْبَعًا وَبِذِي الْحُلَيْفَةِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ
[Machine] Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ, he said, "The voice of Abu Talhah in the army is better than a group."
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ لَصَوْتُ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ فِي الْجَيْشِ خَيْرٌ مِنْ فِئَةٍ
[Machine] That the Prophet ﷺ ascended a mountain called Uhud, and Abu Bakr, Umar, and Uthman followed him. The mountain shook with them, so the Prophet said, "Settle down, I am a Prophet, Siddiq (the truthful), and two martyrs."
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ صَعِدَ أُحُدًا فَتَبِعَهُ أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ وَعُثْمَانُ فَرَجَفَ بِهِمُ فَقَالَ اسْكُنْ نَبِيٌّ وَصِدِّيقٌ وَشَهِيدَانِ
[Machine] We asked Anas ibn Malik, "What did you dislike about our situation during the time of the Prophet ﷺ?" He said, "I disliked that you did not straighten the rows (during prayer)."
قُلْنَا لِأَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ مَا أَنْكَرْتَ مِنْ حَالِنَا فِي عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَ أَنْكَرْتُ أَنَّكُمْ لَا تُقِيمُونَ الصُّفُوفَ
[Machine] Anas came to the city and we said to him, "What have you denied from us since the time of the Prophet ﷺ?" So he said, "I have not denied anything from you except that you do not straighten your rows."
جَاءَ أَنَسٌ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ فَقُلْنَا لَهُ مَا أَنْكَرْتَ مِنَّا مِنْ عَهْدِ نَبِيِّ اللهِ ﷺ؟ فَقَالَ مَا أَنْكَرْتُ مِنْكُمْ شَيْئًا غَيْرَ أَنَّكُمْ لَا تُقِيمُونَ صُفُوفَكُمْ
[Machine] I heard Anas ibn Malik saying, "When we were with the Prophet ﷺ on a journey, whenever the sun would set or it was about to set, he would pray the noon prayer (Dhuhr) and then we would depart."
سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَقُولُ كُنَّا إِذَا كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي سَفَرٍ فَقُلْنَا زَالَتِ الشَّمْسُ أَوْ لَمْ تَزُلْ صَلَّى الظُّهْرَ ثُمَّ ارْتَحَلَ
[Machine] The prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was closely aligned, and the prayer of Abu Bakr remained the same until Umar prolonged it during the Fajr prayer.
كَانَتْ صَلَاةُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مُتَقَارِبَةً وَصَلَاةُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ حَتَّى مَدَّ عُمَرُ فِي صَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ
[Machine] The prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was close together, the prayer of Abu Bakr was moderate, and Umar extended the recitation of the Fajr prayer.
كَانَتْ صَلَاةُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مُتَقَارِبَةً وَصَلَاةُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ وَسَطٌ وَبَسَطَ عُمَرُ فِي قِرَاءَةِ صَلَاةِ الْغَدَاةِ
[Machine] The prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to be close to each other, and Abu Bakr until Umar extended it in the Fajr prayer.
كَانَتْ صَلَاةُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مُتَقَارِبَةً وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ حَتَّى كَانَ عُمَرُ فَمَدَّ فِي صَلَاةِ الْغَدَاةِ
[Machine] The prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to be close to the prayer of Abu Bakr until Umar extended it in the Fajr (dawn) prayer.
كَانَتْ صَلَاةُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مُتَقَارِبَةً وَصَلَاةُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ حَتَّى بَسَطَ عُمَرُ فِي صَلَاةِ الْغَدَاةِ
[Machine] Anas bin Malik was asked, "Did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recite the Quran?" He replied, "Yes, after the Ruku' (bowing) and then he was asked again, "Did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recite the Quran in the Fajr prayer?" He said, "Yes, after the Ruku', for a short while."
سُئِلَ أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ هَلْ قَنَتَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ بَعْدَ الرُّكُوعِ ثُمَّ سُئِلَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ مَرَّةً أُخْرَى هَلْ قَنَتَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي صَلَاةِ الصُّبْحِ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ بَعْدَ الرُّكُوعِ يَسِيرًا
The hair of the Prophet [SAW] came halfway down his ears. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5234)
كَانَ شَعْرُ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ إِلَى أَنْصَافِ أُذُنَيْهِ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about the timing of the Fajr prayer. He ordered Bilal to call for the prayer when dawn broke and he performed the prayer. Then he stayed visible until the sun rose and said, "Where is the one who asked about the timing of the morning prayer, between these two times?"
سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ وَقْتِ صَلَاةِ الصُّبْحِ قَالَ فَأَمَرَ بِلَالًا حِينَ طَلَعَ الْفَجْرُ فَأَقَامَ الصَّلَاةَ ثُمَّ أَسْفَرَ مِنَ الْغَدِ حَتَّى أَسْفَرَ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَيْنَ السَّائِلُ عَنْ وَقْتِ صَلَاةِ الْغَدَاةِ مَا بَيْنَ هَاتَيْنِ أَوْ قَالَ هَذَيْنِ وَقْتٌ
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ was asked about the timing of the Fajr prayer. He prayed when dawn broke, then prayed the morning prayer after the sun had risen. Then he asked, "Where is the one asking about the timing of the Fajr prayer? It is between these two times."
سُئِلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَنْ وَقْتِ صَلَاةِ الصُّبْحِ فَصَلَّى حِينَ طَلَعَ الْفَجْرُ ثُمَّ صَلَّى الْغَدَ بَعْدَ مَا أَسْفَرَ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَيْنَ السَّائِلُ عَنْ وَقْتِ صَلَاةِ الصُّبْحِ؟ مَا بَيْنَ هَذَيْنِ
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ was asked about the timing of Fajr prayer, so he performed it at sunrise, and then continued until the sun fully rose. He then asked, "Where is the one who asked about the timing of Fajr prayer?" The person replied, "There is a time between these two."
سُئِلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَنْ وَقْتِ صَلَاةِ الْغَدَاةِ فَصَلَّى حِينَ طَلَعَ الْفَجْرُ ثُمَّ أَسْفَرَ بِهِمْ حَتَّى أَسْفَرَ فَقَالَ أَيْنَ السَّائِلُ عَنْ وَقْتِ صَلَاةِ الْغَدَاةِ؟ قَالَ مَا بَيْنَ هَذَيْنِ وَقْتٌ
[Machine] The prayer was established, and the Messenger of Allah appointed a guardian for a man until he fell asleep or was about to fall asleep amid some people.
أُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ وَرَسُولُ اللهِ نَجِيٌّ لِرَجُلٍ حَتَّى نَعَسَ أَوْ كَادَ يَنْعَسُ بَعْضُ الْقَوْمِ
[Machine] The prayer was established and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ became a shield for a man until he fell asleep or was about to fall asleep from some of the people.
أُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ وَرَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ نَجِيٌّ لِرَجُلٍ حَتَّى نَعَسَ أَوْ كَادَ يَنْعَسُ بَعْضُ الْقَوْمِ
[Machine] Regarding the night prayer of the Prophet ﷺ, he said, "Whenever we wished to see him praying, we would see him, and whenever he was sleeping, we would see him."
عَنْ صَلَاةِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ بِاللَّيْلِ فَقَالَ مَا كُنَّا نَشَاءُ أَنْنَرَاهُ مُصَلِّيًا إِلَّا رَأَيْنَاهُ وَلَا نَائِمًا إِلَّا رَأَيْنَاهُ
[Machine] Regarding the night prayer of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, he said: "We did not desire to see him praying except that we saw him, and we did not desire to see him sleeping except that we saw him."
عَنْ صَلَاةِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ بِاللَّيْلِ فَقَالَ مَا كُنَّا نَشَاءُ أَنْ نَرَاهُ مُصَلِّيًا إِلَّا رَأَيْنَاهُ وَلَا نَائِمًا إِلَّا رَأَيْنَاهُ
"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was in Baqi', and a man called out to another man: 'O Abul-Qasim!' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ turned to him, and he said: 'I didn't mean you.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Call yourselves by my name but do not call yourselves by my Kunyah.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3737)
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ بِالْبَقِيعِ فَنَادَى رَجُلٌ يَا أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ فَالْتَفَتَ إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ لَمْ أَعْنِكَ قَالَ تَسَمَّوْا بِاسْمِي وَلَا تَكَنَّوْا بِكُنْيَتِي
Messenger of Allah, I did not mean you, but I called such and such (person), whereupon Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: You may call yourself by my name, but not by my kunya. (Using translation from Muslim 2131)
نَادَى رَجُلٌ يَا أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ فَالْتَفَتَ إِلَيْهِ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ لَمْ أَعْنِكَ إِنَّمَا دَعَوْتُ فُلَانًا قَالَ تَسَمَّوْا بِاسْمِي وَلَا تَكَنَّوْا بِكُنْيَتِي
[Machine] I heard Anas ibn Malik say that a Bedouin entered the mosque during the time of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and urinated. The Prophet ﷺ forbade him and said, "Leave him alone." Then he ordered that water be poured either on the affected area or on the urine itself.
سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَقُولُ دَخَلَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ الْمَسْجِدَ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَبَالَ فَنَهَوْهُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ دَعُوهُ وَأَمَرَ أَنْ يُصَبَّ عَلَيْهِ أَوْ أُهَرِيقَ عَلَيْهِ الْمَاءُ
[Machine] We used to pray with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ the Maghrib prayer, and then one of us would go to the Bani Salimah and see his noble sites.
كُنَّا نُصَلِّي مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ الْمَغْرِبَ ثُمَّ يَجِيءُ أَحَدُنَا إِلَى بَنِي سَلِمَةَ وَهُوَ يَرَى مَوَاقِعَ نَبْلِهِ
[Machine] "We used to pray Maghrib with the Prophet of Allah ﷺ, then the man would set off towards Bani Salimah while he still sees the location of his arrow."
كُنَّا نُصَلِّي الْمَغْرِبَ مَعَ نَبِيِّ اللهِ ﷺ ثُمَّ يَنْطَلِقُ الرَّجُلُ إِلَى بَنِي سَلِمَةَ وَهُوَ يَرَى مَوْقِعَ سَهْمِهِ
[Machine] We used to pray Maghrib prayer in the Prophet's ﷺ mosque, then we would visit Bani Salimah and one of us would see the locations of his noble family.
كُنَّا نُصَلِّي الْمَغْرِبَ فِي مَسْجِدِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ ثُمَّ نَأْتِي بَنِي سَلِمَةَ وَأَحَدُنَا يَرَى مَوَاقِعَ نَبْلِهِ
[Machine] We used to pray Maghrib prayer, then the traveler would depart from us to Bani Salimah while he sees the sites of nobility.
كُنَّا نُصَلِّي الْمَغْرِبَ ثُمَّ يَنْطَلِقُ الْمُنْطَلِقُ مِنَّا إِلَى بَنِي سَلِمَةَ وَهُوَ يَرَى مَوَاقِعَ نَبْلِهِ
[Machine] "He is called Abu 'Umayr, and the Prophet used to make him laugh. One day, he saw him sad and asked, 'O Abu 'Umayr, what happened to the little bird?'"
يُقَالُ لَهُ أَبُو عُمَيْرٍ فَكَانَ النَّبِيُّ يُضَاحِكُهُ قَالَ فَرَآهُ حَزِينًا فَقَالَ يَا أَبَا عُمَيْرٍ مَا فَعَلَ النُّغَيْرُ
On the day of Badr, the Prophet ﷺ said, "Who will go and see what has happened to Abu Jahl?" Ibn Masʿud went and found that the two sons of 'Afra had struck him fatally. ʿAbdullah bin Masʿud got hold of his beard and said, "'Are you Abu Jahl?" He replied, "Can there be a man more superior to one whom his own folk have killed (or you have killed)?" (Using translation from Bukhārī 3963)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ مَنْ يَنْظُرُ مَا فَعَلَ أَبُو جَهْلٍ؟ فَانْطَلَقَ ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ فَوَجَدَ ابْنَيْ عَفْرَاءَ قَدْ ضَرَبَاهُ حَتَّى بَرَدَ فَأَخَذَ بِلِحْيَتِهِ فَقَالَ أَنْتَ أَبُو جَهْلٍ؟ فَقَالَ وَهَلْ فَوْقَ رَجُلٍ قَتَلْتُمُوهُ أَوْ قَتَلَهُ قَوْمُهُ؟
Who will ascertain for us what has happened to Abu Jahl? Ibn Mas'ud went (to gather this information). He found that the two sons of 'Afra' had struck him and he lay cold at the point of death. He caught him by his beard and said: Art thou Abu Jahl? He said: is there anybody superior to the person you have killed, or (he said) his people have killed him. Ibn Mas'ud says that, according to Abu Mijlaz, Abu Jahl said: Alas! a person other than a farmer would have killed me. (Using translation from Muslim 1800a)

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Verily, the Dajjal (Antichrist) is one-eyed, and on his left eye there is a thick furrow with the word 'disbeliever' written between his eyes."
