[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever invents something in this Ummah (nation) that was not part of it before, he will have it rejected." So, I saw Ibn Hisham when he was being isolated, and the workers of Walid surrounded him.

الطبراني:١٠٩٩١ – حَدَّثَنَا خَلَفُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْعُكْبَرِيُّ ثنا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ ثنا سَلَمَةُ بْنُ سَيْسَنَ الْخَيَّاطُ الْمَكِّيُّ حَدَّثَنِي بِشْرُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ وَكَانَ شَيْخًا قَدِيمًا قَالَ كُنَّا مَعَ طَاوُسٍ عِنْدَ الْمَقَامِ فَسَمِعْنَا ضَوْضَأَةً فَقَالَ مَا هَذَا؟ فَقِيلَ قَوْمٌ أَخَذَهُمْ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ فِي سَبَبٍ فَطَوَّقَهُمْ فَسَمِعْتُ طَاوُسًا يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ يُحْدِثُ فِي هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ حَدَثًا لَمْ يَكُنْ فَيَمُوتُ حَتَّى يُصِيبَهُ ذَلِكَ» فَأَنَا رَأَيْتُ ابْنَ هِشَامٍ حِينَ عُزِلَ وَأَتَى عُمَّالُ الْوَلِيدِ فَطَوَّقُوهُ
