The Prophet ﷺ said, "He who cultivates land that does not belong to anybody is more rightful (to own it)." ʿUrwa said, "ʿUmar gave the same verdict in his Caliphate."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ أَعْمَرَ أَرْضًا لَيْسَتْ لأَحَدٍ فَهْوَ أَحَقُّ قَالَ عُرْوَةُ قَضَى بِهِ عُمَرُ ؓ فِي خِلاَفَتِهِ

The Prophet ﷺ said: If anyone brings barren land into cultivation, it belongs to him, and the unjust vein has no right.

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ أَحْيَا أَرْضًا مَيْتَةً فَهِيَ لَهُ وَلَيْسَ لِعِرْقٍ ظَالِمٍ حَقٌّ

The Prophet ﷺ said: If anyone surrounds a land with a wall, it belongs to him.

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ أَحَاطَ حَائِطًا عَلَى أَرْضٍ فَهِيَ لَهُ

that the Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever revives a barren land then it is for him, and there is no right for the unjust root."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ أَحْيَى أَرْضًا مَيِّتَةً فَهِيَ لَهُ وَلَيْسَ لِعِرْقِ ظَالِمٍ حَقٌّ

that the Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever revives a barren land, then it is for him."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ أَحْيَا أَرْضًا مَيِّتَةً فَهِيَ لَهُ

[AI] He informed him that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever revives a dead land, for him is a reward in it, and whatever is eaten by a wild animal from it, for him is a charity." Abu Muhammad Al-Afia said, "This includes birds and others."

أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ أَحْيَا أَرْضًا مَيْتَةً فَلَهُ فِيهَا أَجْرٌ وَمَا أَكَلَتِ الْعَافِيَةُ مِنْهَا فَلَهُ فِيهَا صَدَقَةٌ» قَالَ أَبُو مُحَمَّد الْعَافِيَةُ الطَّيْرُ وَغَيْرُ ذَلِكَ

the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Whoever is silent, he is saved.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ صَمَتَ نَجَا»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever revives a dead land, he will have a reward from it, and whatever the wild animals eat from it, it will be considered as charity for him."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ أَحْيَا أَرْضًا مَيْتَةً فَلَهُ مِنْهَا يَعْنِي أَجْرًا وَمَا أَكَلَتِ الْعَوَافِي مِنْهَا فَهُوَ لَهُ صَدَقَةٌ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever revives a dead land, he will have a reward for it, and whatever is consumed by it will also be rewarded for him."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ أَحْيَا أَرْضًا مَيْتَةً لَهُ بِهَا أَجْرٌ وَمَا أَكَلَتْ مِنْهُ الْعَافِيَةُ فَلَهُ بِهِ أَجْرٌ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever dies upon something, Allah will resurrect him upon it."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ مَاتَ عَلَى شَيْءٍ بَعَثَهُ اللهُ عَلَيْهِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever revives a dead land, he will have reward in it, and whatever sustenance is consumed from it, it will be charity for him."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ أَحْيَا أَرْضًا مَيْتَةً فَلَهُ فِيهَا أَجْرٌ وَمَا أَكَلَتِ الْعَافِيَةُ مِنْهَا فَهُوَ لَهُ صَدَقَةٌ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever revives a dead land, for him is a reward in it, and whatever is eaten by a living creature from it, then it is charity for him." Ibn Abibakir said: "Whoever revives a dead land, it belongs to him."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ أَحْيَا أَرْضًا مَيْتَةً فَلَهُ فِيهَا أَجْرٌ وَمَا أَكَلَتِ الْعَافِيَةُ مِنْهَا فَهُوَ لَهُ صَدَقَةٌ وَقَالَ ابْنُ أَبِيبُكَيْرٍ مَنْ أَحْيَا أَرْضًا مَيْتَةً فَهِيَ لَهُ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever revives a dead land, it belongs to him, and whatever is eaten from it by the animals is a charity for him."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ أَحْيَا أَرْضًا مَيْتَةً فَهِيَ لَهُ وَمَا أَكَلَتِ الْعَافِيَةُ مِنْهُ فَهُوَ لَهُ صَدَقَةٌ

[AI] The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, "Whoever constructs a wall on a piece of land, it belongs to him."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ حَاطَ حَائِطًا عَلَى أَرْضٍ فَهِيَ لَهُ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever starts hostility."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ بَدَا جَفَا

"I entered upon 'Abdullah bin 'Ukaim Abu Mabad Al-Juhani to visit him, while he had Humrah. I said:'Why don't you hang something?' He said: 'Death is better than that. The Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever hangs something, he is entrusted to it." Another chain reports a similar narration. (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2072)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ تَعَلَّقَ شَيْئًا وُكِلَ إِلَيْهِ

[AI] And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever surrounds a piece of land with a wall, it belongs to him."

وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ أَحَاطَ حَائِطًا عَلَى أَرْضٍ فَهِيَ لَهُ

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘Whoever kills, the spoils are his.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2838)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ قَتَلَ فَلَهُ السَّلَبُ

[AI] The Prophet of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever puts a wall around a piece of land, it belongs to him."

أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ حَاطَ حَائِطًا عَلَى أَرْضٍ فَهِيَ لَهُ

This tradition has also been transmitted by Sa'd (b. Abi Waqqas) from the Prophet ﷺ in a similar manner through a different chain of narrators. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1470)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ

[AI] The messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "He is like him."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مِثْلَهُ

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Umra (a gift given for life) is for the heir.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 3716)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْعُمْرَى لِلْوَارِثِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever I am his guardian, Ali is his guardian."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ كُنْتُ وَلِيَّهُ فَعَلِيٌّ وَلِيُّهُ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever develops or cultivates a land that does not belong to anyone, he has the most right to it."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ عَمَرَ أَرْضًا لَيْسَتْ لِأَحَدٍ فَهُوَ أَحَقُّ بِهَا

Yahya related from Malik from Hisham ibn Urwa from his father that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If anyone revives dead land, it belongs to him, and the unjust root has no right." Malik explained, "The unjust root is whatever is taken, or planted without right."

الله عليه وسلم قَالَ مَنْ أَحْيَا أَرْضًا مَيِّتَةً فَهِيَ لَهُ وَلَيْسَ لِعِرْقٍ ظَالِمٍ حَقٌّ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever dies upon something, Allah will resurrect him upon it."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ مَاتَ عَلَى شَيْءٍ بَعَثَهُ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever fears the people of Medina, Allah will fear him."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ أَخَافَ أَهْلَ الْمَدِينَةِ أَخَافَهُ اللَّهُ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever cultivates a land, it belongs to his heirs."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ أُعْمِرَ أَرْضًا فَهِيَ لِوَرَثَتِهِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever revives a dead land, he will have a reward for it and whatever is eaten by a living being will be considered as charity for him."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ أَحْيَا أَرْضًا مَيْتَةً فَلَهُ فِيهَا أَجْرٌ وَمَا أَكَلَتِ الْعَافِيَةُ فَهُوَ لَهُ صَدَقَةٌ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever revives a dead land, he will have reward for it, and whatever the welfare consumes, he will have reward for it."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ أَحْيَا أَرْضًا مَيْتَةً فَلَهُ بِهَا أَجْرٌ وَمَا أَكَلَتِ الْعَافِيَةُ فَلَهُ بِهَا أَجْرٌ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever revives a dead land will have a reward for it, and whatever is eaten from it by any living creature will be considered as charity for him."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ أَحْيَى أَرْضًا مَيْتَةً فَلَهُ فِيهَا أَجْرٌ وَمَا أَكَلَتِ الْعَافِيَةُ مِنْهَا فَهُوَ لَهُ صَدَقَةٌ»

[AI] From the Prophet (PBUH) who said, "Whoever revives a dead land, it belongs to him, and whatever the animals from it eat is considered as charity for him."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ أَحْيَى أَرْضًا مَيْتَةً فَهِيَ لَهُ وَمَا أَكَلَتِ الْعَوَافِي مِنْهَا فَهُوَ لَهُ صَدَقَةٌ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever I am his guardian, then Ali is his guardian."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ كُنْتُ وَلِيُّهُ فَعَلِيٌّ وَلِيُّهُ»

that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever wishes to humiliate the Quraish then Allah will humiliate him." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3905)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ أَرَادَ هَوَانَ قُرَيْشٍ أَهَانَهُ اللهُ»

“There is no lifelong grant. Whoever is given something as a lifelong grant, it is his.' ” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2379)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ أَعْمَرَ عُمْرَى فَهِيَ لَهُ وَلِعَقِبِهِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever surrounds something, then it belongs to him."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ أَحَاطَ عَلَى شَيْءٍ فَهُوَ لَهُ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever surrounds a land with a wall, it belongs to him."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ أَحَاطَ حَائِطًا عَلَى أَرْضٍ فَهِيَ لَهُ»

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ أَحَاطَ حَائِطًا فَهِيَ لَهُ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever surrounds a land with a wall, it belongs to him."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ أَحَاطَ حَائِطًا عَلَى أَرْضٍ فَهِيَ لَهُ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever accepts Islam under the hand of a person, then that person becomes his guardian."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ أَسْلَمَ عَلَى يَدَيْ رَجُلٍ فَهُوَ مَوْلَاهُ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever revives a dead land, it belongs to him and does not belong to any unjust person."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ أَحْيَا أَرْضًا مَيِّتَةً فَهِيَ لَهُ وَلَيْسَ لِعِرْقٍ ظَالِمٍ حَقٌّ»

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever revives a dead land, he will have a reward for it, and whoever feeds wild animals, he will have a reward for it."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ أَحْيَا أَرْضًا مَيِّتَةً فَلَهُ بِهَا أَجْرٌ وَمَا أَكَلَتِ الْعَوَافِي فَلَهُ بِهَا أَجْرٌ»

[AI] Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ, he said, "Whoever revives a dead land, he will have a reward in it and whatever the wild animals eat from it will be counted as charity for him."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ أَحْيَا أَرْضًا مَيِّتَةً فَلَهُ فِيهَا أَجْرٌ وَمَا أَكَلَتِ الْعَوَافِي مِنْهَا فَهُوَ لَهُ صَدَقَةٌ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever brings life to a dead land, he will have a reward for it. And whatever the wild animals eat from it, it will be considered as charity for him."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ أَحْيَا أَرْضًا مَيِّتَةً فَلَهُ بِهَا أَجْرٌ وَمَا أَكَلَتِ الْعَوَافِي مِنْهَا فَهُوَ لَهُ صَدَقَةٌ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever revives a dead land, it belongs to him and not to any oppressive group." Yahya ibn Said and Laith ibn Saad opposed him.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ أَحْيَا أَرْضًا مَيِّتَةً فَهِيَ لَهُ وَلَيْسَ لِعِرْقٍ ظَالِمٍ حَقٌّ» خَالَفَهُ يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ وَلَيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever knows the land upon which he treads, it belongs to him."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ أَحَاطَ مَا يَطَأُ عَلَى أَرْضٍ فَهِيَ لَهُ»

عَنْ أَبِيهِ يَرْفَعُهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ مَنْ أَحْيَا مَوَاتًا مِنَ الْأَرْضِ فَهِيَ لَهُ وَلَيْسَ لِعِرْقٍ ظَالِمٍ حَقٌّ
