6. Chapter of Jīm (Male) (1/21)
[Machine] I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the area of Fidak, which belongs to the people of Badr. When I spoke to him, he said, "If Mu'tim ibn Adi was with me and he spoke to me about these people, I would have released them to him." Mu'tim ibn Adi was known to have a close relationship with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.

I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: One who wrongfully takes an extra tax (sahib maks) will not enter Paradise. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2937)
I have many names: I am Muhammad, I am Ahmad, I am al-Mahi through whom Allah obliterates unbelief, and I am Hashir (the gatherer) at whose feet people will be gathered, and I am 'Aqib (after whom there would be none), and Allah has named him as compassionate and merciful. (Using translation from Muslim 2354b)
Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I have five names: I am Muhammad and Ahmad; I am Al-Mahi through whom Allah will eliminate infidelity; I am Al-Hashir who will be the first to be resurrected, the people being resurrected there after; and I am also Al-ʿAqib (i.e. There will be no prophet after me). [Machine] Al-Qa'nabi and Ibrahim ibn Bashshar al-Ramadi narrated to us that Bishr ibn Musa narrated to us from al-Humaidi, who said: Sufyan narrated to us from al-Zuhri, who narrated to me from Muhammad ibn Jubair ibn Mut'im, from his father, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, I have names. I am Muhammad and I am Ahmad. I am the eraser by whom disbelief is erased. I am the gatherer on whom people will be gathered. And I am the last, and there will be no prophet after me."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, I have names. I am Muhammad, and I am Ahmad, and I am Al-Mahi, for Allah will wipe out disbelief through me. And I am Al-Hashir, as the people will be gathered before me. And I am also Al-Aqib." So I asked Sufyan, "What is Al-Aqib?" He said, "The last of the Prophets."
I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'I have several names: I am Muhammad and I am Ahmad, and I am Al- Mahi with whom Allah obliterates Kufr (disbelief), and I am Al-Hashir (gatherer) at whose feet (i.e. behind whom) the people will be gathered (on the Day of Resurrection), and I am Al-Aqib (i.e. who succeeds the other prophets in bringing about good). [Machine] Abu Yousuf said, "Al-Harith was killed on the day of Badr as a disbeliever."
[Machine] "From Hamza, O people of Quraysh, indeed Muhammad has descended to Yathrib and has sent his vanguard. He only desires to harm you, so be cautious not to pass by his route or approach him, for he is like a dangerous lion. He has become angry with you and you have banished him like the Qirdan monkeys to the mountains. By Allah, he has sorcerers with him that I have never seen before, nor have I seen anyone among his companions except that I see demons with them. And you are aware of the enmity of the sons of Qayla, so he is an enemy seeking assistance from another enemy. Muta'im bin 'Adi' said, 'O Abu al-Hakam, by Allah, I have never seen anyone more truthful in speech or more faithful in fulfilling promises than your brother whom you have expelled. So when you have done what you have done, be the most deserving of people against him.' Abu Sufyan bin al-Harith said, 'Be stronger against him than you have ever been, for the sons of Qayla, if they prevail over you, will not show you any kindness or protection. And if you feed them, they will deceive you like Kinana, or they will expel Muhammad ﷺ from among you, leaving him alone and rejected. As for the sons of Qayla, by Allah, neither they nor the people of Dahlik are in a state of humiliation except on equal terms. I will be sufficient for you against them.'"

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say to his companions, "Come with us to the tribe of Banu Waqif so that we may visit the sighted." Sufyan said, "A man from the Ansar was alive, and the sighted one was blind in his vision."

[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was not called for anything regarding the prayer of travel except for the call to establish it except for Fajr (the Dawn prayer), as he used to be called for the Adhan and the Iqamah."
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ heard saying to Uthman bin Talhah when he handed him the key to the Kaaba, "Keep it well hidden." He said, "For this reason, the key is kept hidden."
[Machine] I went as a merchant to Sham (Syria) during the pre-Islamic period. When I was near Sham, a man from the People of the Book met me and asked, "Do you have a fortune-teller among you?" I replied, "Yes." He said, "Bring him to me." So I took him to a house where there were depictions (of various things), for I had not seen a depiction before that. When I came to know what a depiction was, I saw him holding the anklet of the Prophet ﷺ . I said, "Who is this man holding the anklet?" He replied, "He is not a prophet, but there is no prophet after him. He is the successor after him." Then he mentioned Abu Bakr's characteristics.

[Machine] We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in Al-Juhfa and he came out to us and said, "Do you not bear witness that there is no god but Allah and that I am the Messenger of Allah and that the Qur'an is from Allah?" We said, "Yes." He said, "So rejoice, for indeed, this Qur'an is part in the hand of Allah and part in your hands. Therefore, cling to it and you shall never be destroyed after it."

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood up in Khaif in Mina, and said: ‘May Allah make his face shine, the man who hears my words and conveys them. It may be that the bearer of knowledge does not understand it, and it may be that he takes it to one who will understand it more than he does. There are three things in which the heart of the believer does not betray: sincerity of action for the sake of Allah, offering sincere advice to the rulers of the Muslims, and adhering to the Jama’ah (main body of the Muslims). Their supplication is answered (i.e. encompassing every good, and all of the people).” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3056)
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the place of Khayf in Mina saying, "May Allah make a servant of His who hears my speech, memorizes it, and then conveys it to those who did not hear it. Perhaps the carrier of knowledge does not possess knowledge himself, and perhaps the carrier of knowledge gives it to someone who is more knowledgeable than him. There are three things that a believer's heart should not be indifferent to: sincerity in actions for the sake of Allah, obedience to those in authority, and sticking to the congregation. Indeed, their supplication is made on behalf of those who are behind them."

[Machine] A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and asked, "Which land is the worst?" The Prophet ﷺ replied, "I do not know." When Jibril (Gabriel), the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , came to him, he asked, "Which land is the worst?" The Prophet ﷺ replied, "I do not know until I ask my Lord." Jibril, ﷺ , then left and stayed for as long as Allah willed. He then said, "O Muhammad, you asked me which land is the worst, and I replied, 'I do not know.' I asked my Lord, and He said, 'Its marketplaces.'"
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came across a Bedouin man who said, "O Messenger of Allah, our souls have been exhausted, our families have been dispersed, our wealth has been annihilated, and our livestock have been slaughtered. So beseech Allah for rain for us, for we seek your intercession with Allah and seek Allah's intercession through you." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Oh, you do not know what you are saying!" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then started praising Allah and continued to do so until the people with him recognized this on their faces. He then said, "Oh, you do not know what you are saying! Intercession with Allah is greater than that. Oh, you do not know who Allah is! His throne extends over the heavens and the earth like this." He gestured with his fingers, forming a shape like a dome, and said, "And it creaks under Him like the creaking of a saddle when its rider dismounts."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Verily, Allah tests His servant with illness until He expiates all of his sins for him."

[Machine] "We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the way to Mecca when he said, 'The people of Yemen will come to you like clouds, the best among those on the Earth.' A man from the Ansar then said, 'O Messenger of Allah, does that not include us?' He remained silent, then repeated it again and remained silent, then he repeated it again and said quietly, 'Except you.'"

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ raised his head towards the sky and said, "People from Yemen have come to you, like patches of dark night, and they are the best people on earth." A man from among those present said, "And also from us, O Messenger of Allah?" He responded with a whisper, "Except for you."

[Machine] He informed him that while he was walking with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and the people were surrounding him, locked shut from Hunayn, the Bedouins intercepted him and forced him to go to Samurah. They snatched his cloak while he was on his mount, so he stood and said, "Return my cloak to me. Are you afraid that I am stingy? By Allah, if the number of these camels were as many as the hairs of sheep, I would have divided them among you. Then you would not find me to be stingy, cowardly, or a liar."

Jubair bin Mutʿim told me that while he was in the company of Messenger of Allah ﷺ with the people returning from Hunain, some people (bedouins) caught hold of the Prophet ﷺ and started begging of him so much so that he had to stand under a (kind of thorny tree (i.e. Samurah) and his cloak was snatched away. The Prophet ﷺ stopped and said, "Give me my cloak. If I had as many camels as these thorny trees, I would have distributed them amongst you and you will not find me a miser or a liar or a coward." [Machine] While he was traveling with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ from Hunayn, the Bedouins surrounded the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and started asking him questions.
