Then Ibn Abbas said, "Yes, I will give a fatwa on this based on what was done during the time of the Imam of the righteous." Ibn Zubair said, "Be careful with yourself, for by Allah, if you do that, I will stone you with your own stones." Then their conversation ended.

[Machine] "That he should be praised for what he does, while the tortured ones will be tortured together. Ibn Abbas said, "What is the matter with you and this? This was revealed only concerning the people of the Scripture." Then Ibn Abbas recited, "And remember when Allah took the covenant of the prophets, [saying], 'I will surely disclose to you the people taken by them for making it clear to the people."' He continued reciting until he reached the verse, "Do not think that those who rejoice in what they have perpetrated and like to be praised for what they did not do..." Ibn Abbas said, "The Prophet ﷺ asked them about something, but they envied him and concealed it, and informed him about something else. They were happy and left, knowing that they informed him about what he asked, and they were praised for concealing it. They rejoiced about what they brought to him secretly."

[Machine] The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was not supported in a place where he was supported in the Battle of Uhud and this was denied to him. Ibn Abbas said, "Between me and those who deny the Book of Allah, Allah says, 'And Allah has already fulfilled His promise to you when you were killing them with His permission.'" Ibn Abbas said, "The word 'until' in the verse means 'until he forgave you'," and this refers to the archers. This is because the Prophet ﷺ had stationed them at their position and he said, 'Protect our backs. If you see us being killed, do not come to our aid, and if you see us being victorious and gaining spoils, do not share with us.' So when Allah granted victory to the Prophet ﷺ and allowed him to attack the disbelievers, the archers left their positions and entered the battlefield to collect spoils, and the rows of the Prophet's companions became scattered. They were in this state when the horses from that location attacked the Prophet's ﷺ companions. They began striking one another, and many Muslims were killed. From the beginning of the day until the time when the standard-bearer of the disbelievers was killed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and his companions faced seven or nine of the enemy's division. The Muslims launched an attack against the horses, but they were not successful. The people said that the cave was beneath them, and the Shaytan shouted, 'Muhammad has been killed, so do not doubt it.' He said, 'And we do not doubt that he has indeed been killed,' until the Messenger of Allah ﷺ emerged between the two mountains and we recognized him by the way he walked. He said, 'So we rejoiced as if we had not been afflicted with what we had been afflicted with.' He said, 'Then he came to us while saying, 'The anger of Allah has intensified over a people who shed the blood of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.' And he said again, 'O Allah, they cannot defeat us until they come to us.' So he stayed for an hour, and then Abu Sufyan shouted from beneath the mountain, 'Declare your superiority, O Hubal! Where is the son of Abu Kabsha? Where is the son of Abu Quhafa? Where is the son of Al-Khattab?' Umar said, 'O Messenger of Allah, shall I answer him?' He said, 'Yes.' So when Abu Sufyan said, Declare your superiority, O Hubal!' Umar said, 'Allah is the Most High and the Most Honorable.' Abu Sufyan said, 'O son of Al-Khattab, you have obtained some good fortune, but today you have come face to face with its like.' Umar said, 'This is the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, this is Abu Bakr, and this is Umar.' Abu Sufyan said, 'There are days that alternate with one another, and this is a battle where lives are lost.' Umar said, 'Killing us does not compare to being killed in Paradise.' Abu Sufyan said, 'You believe that?' Umar said, 'Indeed, if that is what you think, then we have lost and been defeated.' Then Abu Sufyan said, 'You will find in our killing you similar to our being killed.' And this was not according to our opinion. [Machine] Indeed, Allah has revealed, "{And whoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed - then it is those who are the disbelievers.}" {The unjust} {The transgressors}. Ibn Abbas said that it was revealed about two groups of Jews, one of which had dominated the other during the time of ignorance until they were pleased and reconciled that every person killed by the noble from the lowly, his blood money is fifty camels, and every person killed by the lowly from the noble, his blood money is one hundred camels. They remained upon this until the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came and the two groups submitted to the judgment of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not favor one over the other, and he agreed to reconcile them. Then the lowly killed a victim of the noble, so the noble sent a message to the lowly to send them one hundred camels. The lowly said, "Did this ever happen that their religion and lineage are one, and the blood money of some of them is half of the blood money of the others? What we have given you is a favor for you and a distinction for us." When Muhammad ﷺ arrived, they almost went to war, but they agreed to have the Messenger of Allah ﷺ judge between them. Al-Azeezah (the noble) began to think and said, "By Allah, Muhammad will not give you twice as much as what he gives you." They had told the truth about what they had given was a favor for them and a total oppression for the other group. So they sent some hypocrites to test the judgment of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. When they came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, Allah informed His Messenger about their situation and what they wanted. So Allah revealed, "{O Messenger, let not those who hasten to disbelief grieve you - of those who say...}" up to the part "{And whoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed - then it is those who are the unjust.}" Then he mentioned them specifically and said, "And by Allah, it was revealed about them and regarding them from Allah."

[Machine] In the pre-Islamic era, the taking of oaths was common among the people of Hijaz, and whoever swore an oath on certain things would be punished by Allah if they violated it. This punishment served as a deterrent against committing forbidden acts. However, when Allah sent Muhammad ﷺ as a messenger, he affirmed the practice of taking oaths. The Muslims viewed it with reverence due to the knowledge bestowed upon them by Allah. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ decreed a dispute settlement through an oath between two groups of Ansar, known as Banu Harithah. The dispute arose when a Jew killed Muhaysah, and the Jews denied their involvement. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ summoned the Jews for an oath to exonerate themselves, but they violated their oaths. Then, he summoned the Banu Harithah and ordered them to take an oath to prove that the Jews had indeed killed Muhaysah unjustly. They took the oath, and as a result, the Banu Harithah were acquitted. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used his wisdom and judgment in dealing with the Jews, who were found to be guilty among them and in their settlements.

Ali then said, "By the One besides whom there is no god, I will show myself to the people of Basra and Talha and Zubayr will be killed. Six thousand five hundred and fifty men will come out to you from Kufa." Al-Ajjla doubted it and Ibn Abbas said, "This thought came to my mind as well. When I reached Kufa I said, 'Let me see if it is as you say, then it is a matter that he (Ali) has heard; otherwise, it is a deceit of war.' So he returned to his companions and they all ate. Then he returned to prayer without performing ablution, and Ibn Ishaq's brother Musa bin Yasar made a comment."

[Machine] Arbad son of Qais son of Juzi son of Khalid son of Jaafar son of Kilab and Aamir son of Tufayl son of Malik came to the Prophet ﷺ in Al-Madinah. They approached the Prophet ﷺ while he was sitting, so they sat in front of him. Aamir bin Tufayl said, "O Muhammad, what will you grant me if I embrace Islam?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "You will have what the Muslims have, and you will be responsible for what they are responsible for." Aamir bin Tufayl asked, "Will I have authority if I embrace Islam after you?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "That is not for you or your people, but you will have the authority of the horses." Aamir bin Tufayl said, "I am currently in charge of the horses of Najd, so make me the chief and you will have the emirates." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "No." When Arbad and Aamir left the presence of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, Aamir said to Arbad, "I will distract Muhammad with a conversation, so strike him with the sword. When the people see that Muhammad has been killed, they will accept the blood money and avoid war, and we will give them the blood money." Arbad agreed, so they both returned to him. Aamir said to the Prophet ﷺ, "Stand up and talk to me." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood up to talk to him, and Arbad handed the sword to Aamir. But when Aamir touched the handle of the sword, it became rigid and he could not unsheathe it. Arbad hesitated in attacking Aamir, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ turned away from them. When Aamir and Arbad left the presence of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and reached Harrah, Saad bin Muadh and Usaid bin Hudayr intercepted them. They said, "Look, O enemies of Allah! May Allah curse both of you." Aamir asked, "Who is this, O Saad?" Saad replied, "This is Usaid bin Hudayr of the armies." They continued until they reached Riqm, where Allah sent a thunderbolt upon Arbad, killing him. Aamir continued until he reached Harrah, where Allah afflicted him with a wound that paralyzed him. He spent the night in the house of a woman from the Banu Sulayl tribe, repeatedly touching his wound and stating, "This is like a tick of a camel in the house of a Sulayliyyah." He desired to die in her house. Then he mounted his horse and brought it to the place where he met the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he died on the way back. Allah revealed regarding them, "Allah knows what every female carries, and what the wombs lose [prematurely] or exceed. And everything with Him is by due measure. [He is] the one who shows you the lightning, [causing] fear and aspiration, and He creates the clouds, heavy and light. And the thunder exalts [Allah] with praise of Him and the angels [as well] from fear of Him. And He sends thunderbolts and strikes therewith whom He wills while they dispute about Allah; and He is severe in assault."

They said, 'Yes, O Messenger of Allah.' He said, 'A man who isolates himself in a mountain, establishing the prayer and giving the Zakah, and he keeps away from the evil of people.' He said, 'Shall I inform you about the worst of people?' They said, 'Yes, O Messenger of Allah.' He said, 'The one who is asked by Allah but does not give.'"

[Machine] Allah forgives Abu Abdur Rahman. Indeed, the Muslims found from this verse what they found, so they complained about it to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "That is what your Lord says, so say, 'We believe in what has been revealed and we have heard and obeyed. Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the destination.'" So they said it until Allah revealed, "The Messenger has believed in what was revealed to him from his Lord, and [so have] the believers. All of them have believed in Allah and His angels and His books and His messengers, [saying], 'We make no distinction between any of His messengers.' And they say, 'We hear and we obey. [We seek] Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the destination.'"

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said, "Platforms of gold will be placed for the prophets, on which they will sit. My platform will remain unoccupied, or he said: 'I will not sit on it or will not recline on it,' standing before my Lord, in the presence of my Ummah. This is out of fear that I will be raised to Paradise, and my Ummah will remain after me, so I will say: 'O Lord, my Ummah, my Ummah.' And Allah, exalted is He, will say: 'O Muhammad, what do you want me to do with your Ummah?' I will say: 'O Lord, make their reckoning easy for them.' So they will be called and reckoned. Among them are those who will enter Paradise by the mercy of Allah, and among them are those who will enter Paradise by my intercession. I will continue to intercede until I am given a document for some men who were destined for the hell-fire. Indeed, even Malik, the guardian of Hell-fire, will say: 'O Muhammad, what did you leave of your Ummah for the anger of your Lord?' in terms of retribution."
