("إِنَّمَا بنو المطَّلب وبنو هاشم شئٌ واحدٌ".  

[خ] البخاري من حديث جبير بن مطعم قال: مشيت أَنا وعثمانُ إِلى رسول اللَّه ﷺ فقلنا: اعطيت بنى المطلب وتركتنا ونحن وهم بمنزلة واحدة منك فقال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: إِنما وذكره، وفى رواية له قال جبير: ولم يقسم: إِنما وذكره، وفى رواية له قال جبير: ولم يقسم النبىُّ ﷺ لبنى عبد شمس، ولا لبنى نوفل شيئًا)
