"عَنِ الزُّبَيْرِ أَنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ قَالَ وهُوَ يَخْطُبُ النَّاسَ: يَا مَعْشَرَ النَّاسِ اسْتَحْيُوا مِنَ الله فَوَالَّذى نَفْسِى بِيَدِهِ إِنِّى لأَظَلُّ حِينَ أَذْهَبُ إِلَى الغَائِطِ فِى الفَضَاءِ مُغَطِّيًا رَأسِى - وَفِى لَفْظٍ مُقنِّعًا رَأَسِى - اسْتِحْيَاءً مِنْ رَبِّى".  

ابن المبارك، [ش] ابن أبى شيبة والخرائطى في مكارم الأخلاق
