muslim:2975a – [Chain 1] Yaḥyá b. Yaḥyá > Dāwud b. ʿAbd al-Raḥman al-Makkī al-ʿAṭṭār > Manṣūr from his mother > ʿĀʾishah [Chain 2] Saʿīd b. Manṣūr > Dāwud b. ʿAbd al-Raḥman al-ʿAṭṭār > Manṣūr b. ʿAbd al-Raḥman al-Ḥajabī > Ummih Ṣafiyyah > ʿĀʾishah

'A'isha reported this hadith through other chains of transmitters also (and the words are) that Messenger of Allah ﷺ died (in a state) when the people could afford to eat only the dates and water.

The Prophet ﷺ died when we had satisfied our hunger with the two black things, i.e. dates and water.

Aishah (ra) said, "When Messenger of Allah ﷺ died, we had been satisfied by the two black things, i.e., dates and water."
