"I came to Fatimah bint Qais and asked her about the ruling of the Messenger of Allah concerning her. She said that her husband divorced her irrevocably, and she referred her dispute with him, concerning accommodation and maintenance, to the Messenger of Allah. She said: 'He did not give me (the right to) accommodation and maintenance, and he told me to observe my 'Iddah in the house of Ibn Umm Maktum,'"  

دَخَلْتُ عَلَى فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ قَيْسٍ فَسَأَلْتُهَا عَنْ قَضَاءِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَلَيْهَا فَقَالَتْ طَلَّقَهَا زَوْجُهَا الْبَتَّةَ فَخَاصَمَتْهُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي السُّكْنَى وَالنَّفَقَةِ قَالَتْ فَلَمْ يَجْعَلْ لِي سُكْنَى وَلاَ نَفَقَةً وَأَمَرَنِي أَنْ أَعْتَدَّ فِي بَيْتِ ابْنِ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ  

"I came to Fatimah bint Qais and asked her about the ruling of the Messenger of Allah concerning her. حَدَّثَنَا سَيَّارٌ وَحُصَيْنٌ وَمُغِيرَةُ وَأَشْعَثُ وَابْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ وَدَاوُدُ وَحَدَّثَنَاهُ مُجَالِدٌ وَإِسْمَاعِيلُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَالِمٍ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ قَالَ دَخَلْتُ عَلَى فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ قَيْسٍ فَسَأَلْتُهَا عَنْ قَضَاءِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَيْهَا فَقَالَتْ طَلَّقَهَا زَوْجُهَا الْبَتَّةَ قَالَتْ فَخَاصَمْتُهُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي السُّكْنَى وَالنَّفَقَةِ قَالَتْ فَلَمْ يَجْعَلْ لِي سُكْنَى وَلَا نَفَقَةً وَأَمَرَنِي أَنْ أَعْتَدَّ فِي بَيْتِ ابْنِ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ

دَخَلْتُ عَلَى فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ قَيْسٍ فَسَأَلْتُهَا عَنْ قَضَاءِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ طَلَّقَهَا زَوْجُهَا أَلْبَتَّةَ قَالَتْ «فَخَاصَمْتُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي السُّكْنَى وَالنَّفَقَةِ فَلَمْ يَجْعَلْ لِي سُكْنَى وَلَا نَفَقَةَ وَأَمَرَنِي أَنْ أَعْتَدَّ فِي بَيْتِ ابْنِ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ»  

[Machine] I entered upon Fatimah bint Qays in Medina and asked her about the decree of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . She said, "My husband divorced me in the state of menstruation, so I disputed with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ regarding residence and maintenance. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not assign me a residence or maintenance, but instead instructed me to prepare in the house of Ibn Umm Maktum."  

دَخَلْتُ عَلَى فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ قَيْسٍ بِالْمَدِينَةِ فَسَأَلْتُهَا عَنْ قَضَاءِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ «طَلَّقَنِي زَوْجِي ألْبَتَّةَ فَخَاصَمْتُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي السُّكْنَى وَالنَّفَقَةِ فَلَمْ يَجْعَلْ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ سُكْنَى وَلَا نَفَقَةً وَأَمَرَنِي أَنْ أَعْتَدَّ فِي بَيْتِ ابْنِ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ»  

I visited Fatima bint Qais and asked her about the verdict of Messenger of Allah ﷺ about (board and lodging during the 'Idda) and she said that her husband divorced her with an irrevocable divorce. She (further. said): I contended with him before Allah's Messerger ﷺ about lodging and maintenance allowance, and she said: He did not provide me with any lodging or maintenance allowance, and he commanded me to spend the 'Idda in the house of Ibn Umm Maktum.
