“Whoever digs a well, is entitled to forty forearms' length surrounding it is as a resting place for his flocks.”
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ حَفَرَ بِئْرًا فَلَهُ أَرْبَعُونَ ذِرَاعًا عَطَنًا لِمَاشِيَتِهِ

[Machine] On the authority of the Messenger of Allah, may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, he said, "Whoever digs a well, no one should dig around it for forty cubits in order to give way to his livestock."
عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنِ احْتَفَرَ بِئْرًا فَلَيْسَ لِأَحَدٍ أَنْ يَحْفِرَ حَوْلَهُ أَرْبَعِينَ ذِرَاعًا عَطَنًا لِمَاشِيَتِهِ»
"مَن احْتَفَر بئِرًا فَلَهُ مَا حَوَالِيهَا أَرْبَعُونَ ذِراعًا عَطنًا لإبِله وَماشِيَتِه".
"مَن احْتَفَر بئْرًا فَلَيسَ لأَحَدٍ أَنْ يَحْفرَ حَوْلَهَا أَرْبَعِين ذِرَاعًا عَطَنًا لِمَاشِيَتِهِ".
"مَن حَفَرَ بِئْرًا فَلَهُ أَرْبَعُونَ ذِرَاعًا عَطَنًا لِمَاشِيَتِهِ".
