When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was lying postrate in prayer and around him were some people from the Quraish, 'Uqba b. Abu Mu'ait brought the foetus of a she-camel and threw it on the back of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He did not raise his head until Fatima arrived, removed it from his back and cured him who had done that (ugly act). He said: O Allah, it is for Thee to deal with the chiefs of the Quraish. Abu Jahl b. Hisham, 'Utba b. Rabi'a. Uqba b. Abu Mu'ait, Shaiba b. Rabi'a, Umayya b. Khalaf or Ubayy b. Khalaf (Shu'ba, one of the narrator of this tradition is in doubt about the exact person). I saw that all were slain in the Battle of Badr and their dead bodies were thrown into a well, except that of Umayya or Ubayy which was cut into pieces and was thrown into the well. While the Prophet ﷺ was in the state of prostration, surrounded by a group of people from Quraish pagans. ʿUqba bin Abi Mu'ait came and brought the intestines of a camel and threw them on the back of the Prophet ﷺ . The Prophet ﷺ did not raise his head from prostration till Fatima (i.e. his daughter) came and removed those intestines from his back, and invoked evil on whoever had done (the evil deed). The Prophet ﷺ said, "O Allah! Destroy the chiefs of Quraish, O Allah! Destroy Abu Jahl bin Hisham, ʿUtba bin Rabiʿa, Shaiba bin Rabiʿa, ʿUqba bin Abi Mu'ait, Umaiya bin Khalaf (or Ubai bin Kalaf)." Later on I saw all of them killed during the battle of Badr and their bodies were thrown into a well except the body of Umaiya or Ubai, because he was a fat person, and when he was pulled, the parts of his body got separated before he was thrown into the well.

While the Prophet ﷺ was prostrating, surrounded by some of Quraish, ʿUqba bin Abi Mu'ait brought the intestines (i.e. Abdominal contents) of a camel and put them over the back of the Prophet. The Prophet ﷺ did not raise his head, (till) Fatima, came and took it off his back and cursed the one who had done the harm. The Prophet ﷺ said, "O Allah! Destroy the chiefs of Quraish, Abu Jahl bin Hisham, ʿUtba bin Rabiʿal, Shaba bin Rabiʿa, Umaiya bin Khalaf or Ubai bin Khalaf." (The sub-narrator Shuʿba, is not sure of the last name.) I saw these people killed on the day of Badr battle and thrown in the well except Umaiya or Ubai whose body parts were mutilated but he was not thrown in the well.

[Machine] I have never seen the Messenger of Allah ﷺ invoke Allah's curse upon the Quraish except on one occasion. He was praying and a number of Quraish were sitting close by, while a sheep was being slaughtered nearby. They said: "Who will take up this dung and throw it on his back?" Uqbah bin Abi Mu'ait stood up, took it and threw it on his back, and he kept praying, prostrating himself, until Fatimah, the Messenger of Allah's daughter ﷺ , came and took it off his back. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said: "O Allah, curse the tribe of Quraish. O Allah, curse Utbah bin Rabi'ah. O Allah, curse Shaybah bin Rabi'ah. O Allah, curse Abu Jahl bin Hisham. O Allah, curse Uqbah bin Abi Mu'ait. O Allah, curse Ubay bin Khalaf or Umayyah bin Khalaf." Abdullah said: "I saw them all killed on the day of Badr, except Ubay and Umayyah, for they were two large and heavy men and became detached (from the battlefield)."
