A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said to him, "My sister vowed to perform the Hajj, but she died (before fulfilling it)." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Would you not have paid her debts if she had any?" The man said, "Yes." The Prophet ﷺ said, "So pay Allah's Rights, as He is more entitled to receive His rights."  

البخاري:٦٦٩٩حَدَّثَنَا آدَمُ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ سَعِيدَ بْنَ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ؓ قَالَ

A woman came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: My mother has died, and fasts of a month are due from her. Thereupon he said: Don't you see that if debt was due from her, would you not pay it? She said: Yes (I would pay on her behalf). Thereupon he said: The debt of Allah deserves its payment more than (the payment of anyone else).

A woman came to the Prophet ﷺ and said (to him) that one month's fast was due from her mother who had died. May I fulfill them on her behalf? He asked: Suppose some debt was due from your mother, would you pay it ? She replied: Yes. He said: So the debt due to Allah is the one which most deserves to be paid. He replied, "Yes." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "So fulfill the rights of Allah, as Allah is more deserving of fulfillment." He said, "So he fasted on her behalf."

أَتَى رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ لَهُ إِنَّ أُخْتِي نَذَرَتْ أَنْ تَحُجَّ وَإِنَّهَا مَاتَتْ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَرَأَيْتَ لَوْ كَانَ عَلَيْهَا دَيْنٌ أَكُنْتَ قَاضِيَهُ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ فَاقْضُوا اللهَ فَهُوَ أَحَقُّ بِالْوَفَاءِ

A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said to him, "My sister vowed to perform the Hajj, but she died (before fulfilling it)." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Would you not have paid her debts if she had any?" The man said, "Yes." The Prophet ﷺ said, "So pay Allah's Rights, as He is more entitled to receive His rights." (Using translation from Bukhārī 6699)

أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَتَى رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ إِنَّ أُخْتِي نَذَرَتْ أَنْ تَحُجَّ وَإِنَّهَا مَاتَتْ قَالَ لَوْ كَانَ عَلَيْهَا دَيْنٌ أَكُنْتَ قَاضِيَهُ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ فَقَالَ فَاقْضُوا اللهَ؛ فَهُوَ أَحَقُّ بِالْوَفَاءِ

"عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَالَ: يَا نَبِىَّ الله إِنَّ أبِى مَاتَ وَلَمْ يَحُجَ أَفَأحُجّ عَنْهُ؟ فَقَالَ النَّبِىُّ ﷺ : أَرَأيتَ أَن لَوْ كَانَ عَلَى أَبِيكَ دَيْنٌ أَكُنْتَ قَاضِيهُ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: فَحَقُ الله أَحَقُّ".
