I saw in a dream a piece of silken cloth in my hand, and in whatever direction in Paradise I waved it, it flew, carrying me there. I narrated this (dream) to (my sister) Hafsa and she told it to the Prophet ﷺ who said, (to Hafsa), "Indeed, your brother is a righteous man," or, "Indeed, ʿAbdullah is a righteous man."

كَأَنَّ فِي يَدِي سَرَقَةً مِنْ حَرِيرٍ لاَ أَهْوِي بِهَا إِلَى مَكَانٍ فِي الْجَنَّةِ إِلاَّ طَارَتْ بِي إِلَيْهِ فَقَصَصْتُهَا عَلَى حَفْصَةَ فَقَصَّتْهَا حَفْصَةُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ إِنَّ أَخَاكِ رَجُلٌ صَالِحٌ أَوْ قَالَ إِنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ رَجُلٌ صَالِحٌ

I saw in a state of sleep as if I have in my hand a piece of silk cloth and there is no place in the Paradise where I intend to reach but that piece of cloth does not fly towards it. I made a mention of it to Hafsa (the sister of Ibn 'Umar) and Hafsa made a mention of it to Allah's Apostle ﷺ, whereupon Allah's Apostle ﷺ said: I find 'Abdullah b 'Umar a pious person.

كَأَنَّ فِي يَدِي قِطْعَةَ إِسْتَبْرَقٍ وَلَيْسَ مَكَانٌ أُرِيدُ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ إِلاَّ طَارَتْ إِلَيْهِ قَالَ فَقَصَصْتُهُ عَلَى حَفْصَةَ فَقَصَّتْهُ حَفْصَةُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَرَى عَبْدَ اللَّهِ رَجُلاً صَالِحًا

"I had a dream in which I saw as if there was a piece of silk in my hand, and I would not gesture to any place in Paradise except that it would fly with me, (taking me) to it. So I told the dream to Hafsah, so she told it to the Prophet ﷺ, so he said: 'Indeed, your brother is a righteous man,' or 'Indeed, 'Abdullah is a righteous man.'"

رَأَيْتُ فِي الْمَنَامِ كَأَنَّمَا بِيَدِي قِطْعَةُ إِسْتَبْرَقٍ وَلاَ أُشِيرُ بِهَا إِلَى مَوْضِعٍ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ إِلاَّ طَارَتْ بِي إِلَيْهِ فَقَصَصْتُهَا عَلَى حَفْصَةَ فَقَصَّتْهَا حَفْصَةُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ إِنَّ أَخَاكِ رَجُلٌ صَالِحٌ أَوْ إِنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ رَجُلٌ صَالِحٌ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ

"I had a dream in which I saw as if there was a piece of silk in my hand, and I would not gesture to any place in Paradise except that it would fly with me, (taking me) to it. So I told the dream to Hafsah, so she told it to the Prophet ﷺ, so he said: 'Indeed, your brother is a righteous man,' or 'Indeed, 'Abdullah is a righteous man.'" [AI] "It is as if he has a stolen treasure in his hand, which does not indicate anything from Paradise except that it flies towards him. So, I told it to Hafsa, and Hafsa told it to the Prophet ﷺ, he said, 'Indeed, Abdullah is a righteous man.'"

كَأَنَّ بِيَدِهِ سَرَقَةً مِنْ إِسْتَبْرَقٍ لَا يُشِيرُ بِهَا إِلَى شَيْءٍ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ إِلَّا طَارَتْ إِلَيْهِ فَقَصَصْتُهَا عَلَى حَفْصَةَ فَقَصَّتْهَا حَفْصَةُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ رَجُلٌ صَالِحٌ»

[AI] As if he had stolen something from a purse without pointing to anything from paradise except that it flew to him. So I narrated it to Hafsa and Hafsa narrated it to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ who said, "Indeed, Abdullah is a righteous man."
