[Machine] "O Messenger of Allah, indeed I slaughter the sheep and I am merciful to it." Or he said, "Indeed I am merciful to the sheep but I slaughter it." He ﷺ said: "And the sheep, if you show it mercy, may Allah show mercy to you. And the sheep, if you show it mercy, may Allah show mercy to you."

يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي لَأَذْبَحُ الشَّاةَ وَأَنَا أَرْحَمُهَا أَوْ قَالَ إِنِّي لَأَرْحَمُ الشَّاةَ أَنْ أَذْبَحَهَا فَقَالَ وَالشَّاةُ إِنْ رَحِمْتَهَا رَحِمَكَ اللهُ وَالشَّاةُ إِنْ رَحِمْتَهَا رَحِمَكَ اللهُ

A man said: O Messenger of Allah ﷺ, indeed I slaughter the sheep while being merciful to it. He ﷺ said: “And the sheep, if you show it mercy, Allah will show you mercy."

أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي لَأَذْبَحُ الشَّاةَ وَأَنَا أَرْحَمُهَا أَوْ قَالَ إِنِّي أَرْحَمُ الشَّاةَ أَنْ أَذْبَحَهَا فَقَالَ وَالشَّاةُ إِنْ رَحِمْتَهَا رَحِمَكَ اللهُ

[Machine] "O Messenger of Allah, indeed I have compassion for the sheep, so I hesitate to slaughter it." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If you show mercy to it, Allah will show mercy to you."

يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي لَأَرْحَمُ الشَّاةِ أَنْ أَذْبَحَهَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «إِنْ رَحِمْتَهَا رَحِمَكَ اللَّهُ»

[Machine] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I am going to take the sheep to slaughter it, but I will have mercy on it." He ﷺ said, "If you show mercy to the sheep, Allah will have mercy on you." Adi ibn al-Fadl is doomed.

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي لِآخُذَ الشَّاةَ لِأَذْبَحَهَا فَأَرْحَمَهَا قَالَ «وَالشَّاةُ إِنْ رَحِمْتُهَا رَحِمَكَ اللَّهُ» عدي بن الفضل هالك

[Machine] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I am going to take the goat to sacrifice it and then show mercy to it." He said, "And if you show mercy to it, Allah will show mercy to you."

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي لِآخُذُ الْعَنْزَ لِأَذْبَحَهَا فَأَرْحَمَهَا قَالَ «وَإِنْ رَحِمْتَهَا رَحِمَكَ اللهُ»

[Machine] "O Messenger of Allah, if I lay down a sheep to slaughter it, and I feel compassion towards it?" So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If you show mercy to the sheep, may Allah have mercy on you."

يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِ اضْطَجَعَتْ شَاةٌ لِأَذْبَحَهَا فَرَحِمْتُهَا؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «وَالشَّاةُ إِنْ رَحِمْتَهَا رَحِمَكَ اللهُ»

[Machine] To the Prophet ﷺ , someone said, "I slaughter a sheep and show mercy to it." He (the Prophet) said, "If you show mercy to the sheep, Allah will show mercy to you."

لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ إِنِّي لَأَذْبَحُ شَاةً فَأَرْحَمُهَا قَالَ «وَالشَّاةُ إِنْ رَحِمْتَهَا رَحِمَكَ اللهُ»

[Machine] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I slaughter the sheep and I am merciful to it." He said, "And if you mercy the sheep, Allah will have mercy on you."

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي لَأَذْبَحُ الشَّاةَ وَأَنَا أَرْحَمُهَا قَالَ «وَالشَّاةُ إِنْ رَحِمْتَهَا رَحِمَكَ اللهُ»

[Machine] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I am taking the sheep to slaughter it, so I can be merciful to it." He said, "If you show mercy to the sheep, may Allah show mercy to you."

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي لِآخُذُ الشَّاةَ لِأَذْبَحَهَا فَأَرْحَمَهَا قَالَ «وَالشَّاةُ إِنْ رَحِمْتَهَا رَحِمَكَ اللهُ»

Mu'awiya ibn Qurra reported that his father said, "A man said, 'Messenger of Allah, I was going to slaughter a sheep and then I felt sorry for it (or 'sorry for the sheep I was going to slaughter').' He said twice, 'Since you showed mercy to the sheep, Allah will show mercy to you.'"

قَالَ رَجُلٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي لَأَذْبَحُ الشَّاةَ فَأَرْحَمُهَا أَوْ قَالَ إِنِّي لَأَرْحَمُ الشَّاةَ أَنْ أَذْبَحَهَا قَالَ وَالشَّاةُ إِنْ رَحِمْتَهَا رَحِمَكَ اللَّهُ مَرَّتَيْنِ

قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي لَأَذْبَحُ الشَّاةَ فَأَرْحَمُهَا قَالَ وَالشَّاةُ إِنْ رَحِمْتَهَا رَحِمَكَ اللَّهُ
