[Machine] And he said, "No, rather write down what Omar saw. If it is correct, then it is from Allah, and if it is a mistake, then it is from Omar."

البيهقي:٢٠٣٤٨ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ أنبأ أَبُو نَصْرٍ الْعِرَاقِيُّ ثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْجَوْهَرِيُّ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ثنا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي الضُّحَى عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ قَالَ كَتَبَ كَاتَبٌ لِعُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ ؓ هَذَا مَا أَرَى اللهُ أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ عُمَرَ فَانْتَهَرَهُ عُمَرُ ؓ

وَقَالَ لَا بَلِ اكْتُبْ هَذَا مَا رَأَى عُمَرُ فَإِنْ كَانَ صَوَابًا فَمِنَ اللهِ وَإِنْ كَانَ خَطَأً فَمِنْ عُمَرَ

"عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ قَالَ: كَتَبَ (كَاتِبٌ) (*) لعُمَرَ بْنِ الخطَّابِ: هَذَا مَا أَرَى اللَّه أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ عُمَرَ، فَانْتَهَرَهُ عُمَرُ وَقَالَ: لَا، بَل اكْتُبْ: هَذَا مَا رَأَى عُمَرُ، فَإِنْ كَانَ صَوَابًا فَمِنَ اللَّه، وَإِنْ كَانَ خَطَأً فَمِنْ عُمَرَ".
