[Machine] Abu Ali Al-Hafiz told us that Abu Ya'la narrated to him, who narrated from Abu Khaythama, who said: Ya'qub bin Ibrahim bin Sa'd narrated from his father, who narrated from Ibn Ishaq, who narrated from Abu Al-Hassan Muhammad bin Abdullah Al-Jawhary, who narrated from Muhammad bin Ishaq, who narrated from Muhammad bin Ya'la, who narrated from Yahya bin 'Ubaid Al-Tanafisi, and Ahmad bin Khalid Al-Wahbi, who said: Muhammad bin Ishaq narrated to us, who narrated from Muhammad bin Al-Muzaffar Al-Hafiz, who narrated from Muhammad bin Harun, who narrated from Sulaiman bin 'Umar, who narrated from Yahya bin Sa'id Al-Umawi, who narrated from Muhammad bin Ishaq, who narrated from Abu 'Amr Muhammad bin Ahmad bin Ishaq Al-'Adl, who narrated from Muhammad bin Khuza'im Al-Dimashqi, who narrated from Hisham bin 'Ammar, who said: Sa'id bin Yahya Al-Lakhmi narrated to me, who narrated from Ibn Ishaq, and Ali bin 'Isa also narrated to me. The wording is from Musaddad bin Qatan, who narrated from 'Uthman bin Abi Shaybah, who narrated from Yahya bin 'Ubaid, who narrated from Muhammad bin Ishaq, who narrated from Al-Zuhri, who narrated from Muhammad bin Jubair:
The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, stood in the valley of Mina and said, "May Allah brighten the face of the servant who hears my words and memorizes them, then conveys them to those who have not heard them. Perhaps there is a scholar who is not knowledgeable, but carries the knowledge to someone more knowledgeable than him. There are three qualities that a believer's heart should not hold any animosity towards: sincerity in actions for Allah, loyalty to the rulers, and adherence to the congregation. Their supplication is answered even if it comes from behind them."
These trustworthy narrators have unanimously agreed upon narrating this hadith from Muhammad bin Ishaq, from Al-Zuhri, except for Abdullah bin Numayr who differs with them. He narrates it from Muhammad bin Ishaq through Abdus Salam, son of Abi Al-Janub, who narrates from Al-Zuhri and Ibn Numayr is trustworthy. Allah knows best. Then we examined it and found that Al-Zuhri has a continuous chain narrating from Muhammad bin Jubair.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded him to shave his head and said, "Fast for three days, or feed six poor people, or sacrifice a sheep." So, he asked, "Which one should I do?" The Prophet ﷺ said, "You can choose whichever one you prefer. This is sufficient for you." And it has been reported in the correct manner.

I asked him what this name meant. He said it was a name given to him by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and that he would not change it. I asked him why they called him that, and he said, 'I came to Madinah and informed them that I had money to invest, so they pledged their allegiance to me. I consumed their wealth, and they brought me to the Prophet ﷺ who said, 'You are a thief.' He sold me for four camels. The Ghurama' said to the one who bought me, 'What will you do with him?' He said, 'I will set him free.' They said, 'We are not more righteous than you in reward, so set him free among us.' And so, my name remained, as did its meaning."

So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ did so and appointed me to collect it from them. Abu Bakr also appointed me, then Umar appointed me. Saad was one of the people of Sura, and I spoke to my people about honey and said to them, "It is a form of charity because there is no good in a fruit that is not purified." They asked, "How much?" I said, "One tenth." So I took one tenth from them and went to Umar bin Khattab and informed him. Umar took it and sold it, and then placed its price in the charities of the Muslims.

[Machine] He was asked while on the pulpit about a man who divorced his wife three times, then someone else married her, closed the door, removed the veil, and revealed her face, then divorced her. He said, "She is not permissible for the first man until the other man tastes her honey." This is the wording of the Hadith of Al-'Abdiyy. Al-'Abdiyy also said it in his narration, as did Abu Ahmad Al-Zubayri. The authentic narration is from 'Abd Al-Rahman bin Mahdi, and it was narrated by Waki' once from Sufyan, who narrated from 'Alqamah, from Razeen bin Sulaiman Al-Ahmarri. He was contradicted by Shu'bah in his chain of narrators, so he narrated it from 'Alqamah bin Marthad, from Salim bin Razeen, from Salim bin 'Abdullah, from Sa'id bin Al-Musayyib, from Ibn 'Umar. The Prophet informed us of this and it was narrated by Abu 'Abdullah Al-Hafiz and Abu Bakr Ahmad bin Al-Hasan. They said, "Abu Al-Abbas Muhammad bin Ya'qub informed us, Muhammad bin Ishaq informed me, and I am the successor of Yahya bin Ma'in." They said, "Ghandar informed us, Shu'bah mentioned it to us, and I received it from Muhammad bin Isma'il Al-Bukhari that he weakened the Hadith of Shu'bah and Sufyan together. And Abi Zar'ah said that the Hadith of Sufyan is the most authentic."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said, "Whoever frees a portion of a slave or a share in a partnership, then he will have from that slave or partnership an amount of wealth equal to the value of justice. He will be considered a free person." He said, "I do not know if this is a hadith from the Prophet, ﷺ , or something that Nafi' said. If it is not something that Nafi' said, then he has freed what he has freed." They have reported it in Sahih like this, and it contains an apparent indication that he was unsure about it. Malik ibn Anas, may Allah have mercy on him, confirmed it as a hadith from the Prophet, ﷺ , so the ruling is in accordance with his view. As for the preference of Malik's memorization, it is with the majority of the people of hadith, as Ash-Shafi'i, may Allah have mercy on him, said. 21355 Abu 'Abdullah Al-Hafiz informed us, Abu Bakr ibn Ishaq informed us, Isma'il ibn Ishaq informed us, 'Ali ibn Al-Madinri said, "Abdur-Rahman ibn Mahdi would not give precedence to anyone over Malik." 21356 Abu 'Abdullah Al-Hafiz informed us, I heard Abu Al-Hasan Al-'Anazi say, I heard 'Uthman ibn Sa'id Ad-Darimi say, "I asked Yahya ibn Ma'in, 'Is Malik more beloved to you than Nafi' or 'Ubaidullah ibn 'Umar?' He said, 'Malik.'" 21357 Abu 'Abdullah Al-Hafiz informed us, Abu Muhammad ibn 'Ukht ibn Abu 'Awana informed us, my maternal uncle informed me, Al-Maimuni said, "I heard Yahya ibn Ma'in and Ahmad ibn Hanbal, both of them, say, 'Malik was one of the most trustworthy people in his hadith.'" Ahmad ibn Hanbal said, "O Abu Al-Hasan, it does not matter if you do not ask about a man who narrates from Malik, especially if he is from Madinah." 21358 Abu 'Abdullah Al-Hafiz informed us, I heard Abu Bakr Muhammad ibn Ahmad Al-Hairi say, I heard Al-Husayn ibn Muhammad Al-Qabani say, I heard 'Ubaidullah ibn 'Umar Al-Qawariri say, 'I heard Hammad ibn Zaid say, 'I heard Ayyub As-Sakhtiani say, "Malik had a special chain with Nafi' during his lifetime.'" 21359 Abu Al-Husayn Ibn Al-Fadl Al-Qattan informed us in Baghdad, 'Abdullah ibn Ja'far told us, Ya'qub ibn Sufyan informed me, Muhammad ibn Abi Ruqayn informed me, Ibn Wahb informed me, Malik said, "Yahya ibn Sa'id asked me to compile one hundred hadiths from the hadiths of Ibn Shihab and select them for him, so I wrote those hadiths for him until I filled the book and explained them to him." Malik said, "And a man said, 'I used to learn from him until the day he died. He would come to me and ask me questions.' As for the concurrence of the ones who agreed with Malik on this addition..."
