[Machine] "Feed him, give him drink, and treat him kindly. If I live, I am his guardian and I pardon him if I wish, and if I wish, I punish him."  

البيهقي:١٦٠٥٩ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ الْأَصَمُّ ثنا بَحْرٌ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي أَنَسُ بْنُ عِيَاضٍ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ عَلِيَّ بْنَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ؓ كَانَ يَخْرُجُ إِلَى الصُّبْحِ وَفِي يَدِهِ دِرَّتُهُ يُوقِظُ بِهَا النَّاسَ فَضَرَبَهُ ابْنُ مُلْجَمٍ فَقَالَ

عَلِيٌّ ؓ أَطْعِمُوهُ وَاسْقُوهُ وَأَحْسِنُوا إِسَارَهُ فَإِنْ عِشْتُ فَأَنَا وَلِيُّ دَمِي أَعْفُو إِنْ شِئْتُ وَإِنْ شِئْتُ اسْتَقَدْتُ
