[Machine] In Ibn Muljam, after he was struck, feed him and give him water. Treat his left side well. If I live, I will forgive my blood if I want to, and if I want to avenge it. If I die, you kill him, but do not mutilate.  

البيهقي:١٦٧٥٩ – وَاحْتُجَّ أَيْضًا بِمَا أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْقَاضِي ثَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ أَنْبَأَ الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ أَنْبَأَ الشَّافِعِيُّ أَنْبَأَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ عَلِيًّا ؓ قَالَ

فِي ابْنِ مُلْجَمٍ بَعْدَمَا ضَرَبَهُ أَطْعِمُوهُ وَاسْقُوهُ أَحْسِنُوا إِسَارَهُ فَإِنْ عِشْتُ فَأَنَا وَلِيُّ دَمِي أَعْفُو إِنْ شِئْتُ وَإِنْ شِئْتُ اسْتَقَدْتُ وَإِنْ مُتُّ فَقَتَلْتُمُوهُ فَلَا تُمَثِّلُوا

"عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ: أَنَّ عَلِيّا كَانَ يَخْرُجُ إِلَى الصُّبْحِ، وَمَعَهُ دِرَّةٌ يُوقِظُ النَّاسَ، فَضَرَبَهُ ابْنُ مُلْجَمٍ، فَقالَ عَلِىٌّ: أَطْعِمُوَهُ، وَاسْقُوهُ، وَأَحْسِنُوا إِسَارَهُ، فَإِنْ عِشْتُ فَأَنَا وَلِىُّ دَمِى، أَعْفُو إِنْ شِئْتُ، وَإِنْ شِئْتُ اسْتَقَدْتُ وَإنْ مِتُّ فَقَتَلْتُمُوهُ فَلَا تُمثِّلُوا".
