[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: "Indeed, Islam started as something strange, then it became something followed by few, then it became a group, then a sect, then a nation. He (the Prophet) said: then 'Ubaidullah said: What comes after 'Buzul' (sect)? He (the Prophet) replied: Nothing but loss."

أحمد:٢٠٥٢٨ – حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ حَدَّثَنَا عَوْفٌ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْمُزَنِيِّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي رَجُلٌ قَالَ كُنْتُ فِي مَجْلِسٍ فِيهِ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ بِالْمَدِينَةِ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ لِرَجُلٍ مِنْ جُلَسَائِهِ كَيْفَ

سَمِعْتَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ؟ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِنَّ الْإِسْلَامَ بَدَأَ جَذَعًا ثُمَّ ثَنِيًّا ثُمَّ رَبَاعِيًا ثُمَّ سَدِيسًا ثُمَّ بَازِلًا قَالَ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ فَمَا بَعْدَ الْبُزُولِ إِلَّا النُّقْصَانُ

[Machine] "To a man from the people, O Fulan, how did you hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ describe Islam?" He said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'Verily, Islam started as a shoot, then it became a sapling, then it grew into a young tree, then it became a fully grown tree, then it started to decline.'" Umar ibn al-Khattab said, "So what comes after decline, except loss?"

أحمد:١٥٨٠٢ – حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَوْفٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَلْقَمَةُ الْمُزَنِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي رَجُلٌ قَالَ 7 كُنْتُ فِي مَجْلِسٍ فِيهِ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ بِالْمَدِينَةِ فَقَالَ

لِرَجُلٍ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ يَا فُلَانُ كَيْفَ سَمِعْتَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَنْعَتُ الْإِسْلَامَ؟ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِنَّ الْإِسْلَامَ بَدَأَ جَذَعًا ثُمَّ ثَنِيًّا ثُمَّ رَبَاعِيًا ثُمَّ سَدِيسًا ثُمَّ بَازِلًا قَالَ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ فَمَا بَعْدَ الْبُزُولِ إِلَّا النُّقْصَانُ

"عن رجل قال: كُنْتُ بِالمدينَةِ في مَجْلِسٍ فِيهِ عُمَرُ بنُ الْخَطَّابِ، فَقَالَ لِبَعْضِ جُلَسَائِهِ: كَيْفَ سَمِعْتَ رَسُولَ اللَّه ﷺ يَصِفُ الإسْلَامَ؟ قَالَ: سَمعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّه ﷺ يَقُولُ إِنَّ الإِسْلَام بَدَأَ جَذَعًا ثُمَّ ثَنِيًا، ثُمَّ رَبَاعيًا، ثُمَّ سُدُيْسًا ثُمَّ بَازِلًا، فَقَالَ عُمَرُ: أَمَا بَعْدَ البُزُولِ إِلَّا النُّقْصَانُ؟ !
