the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said, "˹How˺ wondrous is the affair of a believer: for there is good in every affair of his, while that is not the case with anyone else except in the case of a believer: ˹i.e.,˺ if times of ease strike him, he is grateful which is good for him; and if times of distress strike him, he is patient, which is ˹also˺ good for him."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «عَجَبًا لأَمْرِ الْمُؤْمِنِ، إِنَّ أَمْرَهُ كُلَّهُ خَيْرٌ، وَلَيْسَ ذَاكَ لأَحَدٍ إِلاَّ لِلْمُؤْمِنِ: إِنْ أَصَابَتْهُ سَرَّاءُ شَكَرَ فَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَهُ، وَإِنْ أَصَابَتْهُ ضَرَّاءُ صَبَرَ فَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَهُ».

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "I am amazed at Allah's ﷻ decree for the believer: if good befalls him, he praises his Lord and gives thanks; and if calamity befalls him, he praises his Lord and is patient. The believer is rewarded in everything, even for the morsel he raises to his wife's mouth."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: «عَجِبْتُ مِنْ قَضَاءِ اللهِ ﷻ لِلمُؤْمِنِ، إِنِ أَصَابَهُ خَيْرٌ حَمِدَ رَبَّهُ وَشَكَرَ، وَإِنِ أَصَابَتْهُ مُصِيبَةٌ حَمِدَ رَبَّهُ وَصَبَرَ. الْمُؤْمِنُ يُؤْجَرُ فِي كُلِّ شَيْءٍ، حَتَّى فِي اللُّقْمَةِ يَرْفَعُهَا إِلَى فِي امْرَأَتِهِ.»

[AI] "I am amazed at the Muslim: when something good befalls him, he praises Allah ﷻ and gives thanks; and when a calamity befalls him, he seeks reward and is patient. The Muslim is rewarded in everything, even in the morsel he lifts to his mouth."

«عَجِبْتُ لِلمُسْلِمِ، إِذَا أَصَابَهُ خَيْرٌ حَمِدَ اللهَ وَشَكَرَ، وَإِذَا أَصَابَتْهُ مُصِيبَةٌ احْتَسَبَ وَصَبَرَ، الْمُسْلِمُ يُؤْجَرُ فِي كُلِّ شَيْءٍ، حَتَّى فِي اللُّقْمَةِ يَرْفَعُهَا إِلَى فِيهِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "I am amazed by the believer: if something good happens to him, he praises Allah and gives thanks; and if a calamity befalls him, he seeks reward and is patient. The believer is rewarded in everything, even in the morsel he lifts to his mouth."

[Machine] While the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was sitting with his companions, he started laughing. So, he said, "Do you not ask me why I am laughing?" They said, "O Messenger of Allah, why are you laughing?" He said, "I am amazed by the affairs of a believer. All of his matters are good for him. If he receives what he loves, he praises Allah and it is good for him. And if he receives what he dislikes, he remains patient and it is good for him. And not every person's matter is all good for him, except for the believer." 'Affan also narrated this, and Sulaiman narrated to us, and Thabit narrated it exactly in this wording, and I see it as a narration of Hammad, and we have also narrated it from him. He said, "Sulaiman narrated to us, and Thabit also narrated it from the wording of Abdul-Rahman, from Sulaiman, and this is from his book, which he read to us."

بَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ قَاعِدٌ مَعَ أَصْحَابِهِ إِذْضَحِكَ فَقَالَ أَلَا تَسْأَلُونِي مِمَّ أَضْحَكُ؟ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَمِمَّ تَضْحَكُ؟ قَالَ عَجِبْتُ لِأَمْرِ الْمُؤْمِنِ إِنَّ أَمْرَهُ كُلَّهُ خَيْرٌ إِنْ أَصَابَهُ مَا يُحِبُّ حَمِدَ اللهَ وَكَانَ لَهُ خَيْرٌ وَإِنْ أَصَابَهُ مَا يَكْرَهُ فَصَبَرَ كَانَ لَهُ خَيْرٌ وَلَيْسَ كُلُّ أَحَدٍ أَمْرُهُ كُلُّهُ لَهُ خَيْرٌ إِلَّا الْمُؤْمِنُ وَحَدَّثَنَاهُ عَفَّانُ أَيْضًا حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ هَذَا اللَّفْظَ بِعَيْنِهِ وَأُرَاهُ وَهِمَ هَذَا لَفْظُ حَمَّادٍ وَقَدْ حَدَّثَنَا بِهِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ نَحْوًا مِنْ لَفْظِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ وَذَلِكَ مِنْ كِتَابِهِ قِرَاءَةً عَلَيْنَا

[Machine] While the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was sitting, he laughed and said, "Will you not ask me what I am laughing at?" They asked, "What made you laugh?" He said, "I am amazed at the affair of a believer; all of his matters are good for him. If something good befalls him, he thanks Allah, which is good for him. And if something bad befalls him, he observes patience, which is also good for him. This is not the case for any person except a believer."

بَيْنَمَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ جَالِسٌ إِذْ ضَحِكَ فَقَالَ «أَلَا تَسْأَلُونِي مِمَّا أَضْحَكُ؟» فَقَالُوا مِمَّ تَضْحَكُ؟ قَالَ عَجَبًا مِنْ أَمْرِ الْمُؤْمِنِ كُلُّهُ لَهُ خَيْرٌ إِنْ أَصَابَهُ مَا يُحِبُّ حَمِدَ اللَّهَ عَلَيْهِ فَكَانَ لَهُ خَيْرٌ وَإِنْ أَصَابَهُ مَا يَكْرَهُ فَصَبَرَ كَانَ لَهُ خَيْرٌ وَلَيْسَ كُلُّ أَحَدٍ أَمْرُهُ لَهُ خَيْرٌ إِلَّا الْمُؤْمِنَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «عَجَبًا لِأَمْرِ الْمُؤْمِنِ إِنَّ أَمْرَهُ كُلَّهُ خَيْرٌ إِنْ أَصَابَتْهُ سَرَّاءُ شَكَرَ وَإِنَّ أَصَابَتْهُ ضَرَّاءُ صَبَرَ وَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَهُ وَلَيْسَ ذَلِكَ لِأَحَدٍ إِلَّا لِلْمُؤْمِنِ»

[Machine] About the Prophet ﷺ said, "Don't you find it amazing that when a believer experiences something good, they praise and thank Allah, and when they face a calamity, they still praise Allah and show patience? The believer is rewarded for every deed, even for a morsel of food they raise to their mouth."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «أَلَا أَعْجَبَكُمْ أَنَّ الْمُؤْمِنَ إِذَا أَصَابَ خَيْرًا حَمِدَ اللهَ وَشَكَرَ وَإِذَا أَصَابَتْهُ مُصِيبَةٌ حَمِدَ اللهَ وَصَبَرَ فَالْمُؤْمِنُ يُؤْجَرُ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ حَتَّى الْأُكْلَةِ يَرْفَعُهَا إِلَى فِيهِ»

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I am amazed by the believer. If goodness befalls him, he praises Allah and shows gratitude, and if a calamity befalls him, he praises Allah and remains patient. The believer is rewarded for every action, even for lifting a morsel of food to his wife's mouth. There are many narrations on this subject, but what we have mentioned suffices for those who are granted understanding."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَجِبْتُ لِلْمُؤْمِنِ إِنْ أَصَابَهُ خَيْرٌ حَمِدَ اللهَ وَشَكَرَ وَإِنْ أَصَابَتْهُ مُصِيبَةٌ حَمِدَ اللهَ وَصَبَرَ فَالْمُؤْمِنُ يُؤْجَرُ عَلَى كُلِّ أَمْرِهِ حَتَّى يُؤْجَرَ فِي اللُّقْمَةِ يَرْفَعُهَا إِلَى فِي امْرَأَتِهِ وَفِي هَذَا أَخْبَارٌ كَثِيرَةٌ وَفِيمَا ذَكَرْنَا كِفَايَةٌ لِمَنْ أُيِّدَ بِالتَّوْفِيقِ

"عَحَبًا لأَمْرِ الْمؤْمِنِ إِنَّ أَمْرَهُ كلَّهُ لَهُ خيرٌ, وليس ذلك لأحَدٍ إلَّا لِلمؤْمِنِ إِنْ أصَابَته سَرَّاءُ شَكَر وكان خَيرًا له، وإن أصابته ضرَّاءُ صَبرَ فكان خيرًا له".

"عَجبْتُ للمُسْلم: إذا أصابْتهُ مصيبةٌ احتسْبَ وصبر، وإذا أصابه خيرٌ حَمِدَ الله وشكرَ، إِنَّ المسلمَ يؤُجَر في كُلِّ شيءٍ حتى في اللقمة يرفعُها إلى فيه".

"عَجبْتُ من قضاءِ الله للِمؤْمن: إِنَّ أصابه خَيرٌ حمدَ رَبَّهُ وشَكَرَ, وإِنْ أَصابتَهُ مُصيبةٌ حَمَدَ رَبَّهُ وَصَبَر يؤجَر المؤمنُ في كل شيءٍ حتى اللُّقمةَ يرفعُها إلى في امرأَتِه".
