[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ was brought a man who had committed theft, so he flogged him with forty strikes using sandals and said, "The punishment is deserved, I think, for stealing."  

أحمد:١١٩٣٧حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا مِسْعَرٌ عَنْ زَيْدٍ الْعَمِّيِّ عَنْ أَبِي الصِّدِّيقِ النَّاجِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أُتِيَ بِرَجُلٍ فِي حَدٍّ قَالَ فَضَرَبَه بِنَعْلَيْنِ أَرْبَعِينَ قَالَ مِسْعَرٌ أَظُنُّهُ فِي شَرَابٍ

[Machine] It was narrated that the Prophet ﷺ was presented with a man who was suspected of being drunk. The Prophet ﷺ struck him with his sandals forty times.
