I intend that I should command a person to lead people in prayer, and then burn those persons who absent themselves from Jumu'a prayer in their houses. (Using translation from Muslim 652)

[Machine] "That I obliged him, so I accompanied him. Then he mentioned the narration. When the dawn came, he said, 'Perform the prayer.' So I said, 'O Abu Abdur Rahman, is this hour? I did not see you pray in it.' He said, 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to only pray this prayer at this place from this day.' Abdullah said, 'There are two prayers that are performed before their time, the Maghrib prayer after the people go to Muzdalifah, and the Fajr prayer when the dawn breaks.' He said, 'I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ doing that.'"

[Machine] We sent the messenger of Allah ﷺ to the Negus, and we were about eighty men, including Abdullah bin Mas'ood, Ja'far, Abdullah bin Urfutah, Uthman bin Mazh'un, and Abu Musa. They went to the Negus, and Quraysh sent Amr bin al-As and Amarah bin al-Walid with a gift. When they entered upon the Negus, they prostrated to him and then sat on his right and left. They said to him, "Some of our relatives have settled in your land and turned away from us and our religion." He asked, "Where are they?" They replied, "They are in your land, so please send for them." He sent for them, and Ja'far said, "I am your speaker today, so follow me." He greeted the Negus and did not prostrate. They asked him, "Why don't you prostrate to the king?" He replied, "We only prostrate to Allah, the Almighty. He sent His Messenger ﷺ to us and commanded us to prostrate only to Him. He also commanded us to pray and pay zakah." Amr bin al-As said, "But they differ from you regarding Jesus, son of Mary." The Negus asked, "What do you say about Jesus, son of Mary and his mother?" They replied, "We say as Allah, the Almighty, says; Jesus is Allah's word and a spirit from Him. He cast it upon the chaste virgin and she became pregnant without a man touching her, and she did not give birth to a son." He then raised a stick from the ground and said, "O people of Abyssinia, priests, and monks, by Allah, they do not differ from what we say about Jesus. They welcome us and the one who has come with us. I bear witness that he is the Messenger of Allah. He is the one we find in the Injeel (Gospel) and the one whom Jesus, son of Mary, gave glad tidings about. Go wherever you like, for Allah, if it were not for the kingdom that I have, I would go to him, carry his slippers, wash his feet, and bring gifts to him." The Negus returned their gifts to them. Abdullah bin Mas'ood hurried until he reached Badr, claiming that the Prophet ﷺ sought his forgiveness when he heard about his death.

[Machine] I saw a man asking Al-Aswad ibn Yazid while he was teaching the Quran in the mosque. He said, "How do you read this letter {فَهَلْ مِنْ مُدَّكِرٍ} [Al-Qamar 15], is it adal (أَذَالٌ) or dal (دَالٌ)?" He replied, "No, it is dal (دَالٌ)." Then he said, "I heard Abdullah ibn Mas'ud saying that he heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ reciting it as 'muddakirin' (مُدَّكِرٍ) [Al-Qamar 15] with a dal (دَالًا)."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There has never been a prophet except that he had disciples among his companions and followers who followed his guidance and emulated his manner. However, after them would come rulers who would say what they do not do, and do what they are not commanded."

Then, the Prophet ﷺ asked, 'Do you have any goat that has not been covered by a male?' I said, 'Yes.' So I brought it to them, and the Prophet ﷺ milked the goat and wiped the udder. [Machine] "In the battle of Uhud, the women used to stand behind the Muslim men and tend to the wounds of the polytheists. So, if I made an oath that day, I hoped to fulfill it because none of us desired the worldly life until Allah revealed, 'Among you are some who desire the world, and among you are some who desire the Hereafter. Then He turned you away from them to test you.' [Quran 3:152] When the Prophet ﷺ and his companions disobeyed and did not follow the orders they were given, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ remained alone with nine Ansaris, two men from Quraysh, and he was the tenth. When they were overwhelmed, he said, 'May Allah have mercy on a man who separated them from us.' Then a man from the Ansar stood up and fought until he was killed. When he was also overwhelmed, he said, 'May Allah have mercy on a man who separated them from us.' He kept saying this until all seven of them were killed. Then the Prophet ﷺ said to his companions, 'Our martyrs and your martyrs are not equal. Our martyrs are alive and provided for, while your martyrs are being punished in the Fire.' Abu Sufyan came and said, 'Declare victory, Hu'bal.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Say, 'Allah is our protector and you have no protector.'' So they said, 'Allah is our protector and you have no protector.' Abu Sufyan said, 'We have Uzza and you have no Uzza.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Say, 'Allah is our superior and our most majestic.''' Abu Sufyan said, 'A day for a (good) day, a day for us and a day for you, a day of women and a day of men fighting individually.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'No comparison. As for our dead, they are provided for by Allah, while as for your dead, they are being punished in the Fire.' Abu Sufyan said, 'The matter was similar among your people, but there was no one among us who had commanded, forbidden, liked, disliked, harmed, or benefited me regarding it.' Then they looked and saw that Hamzah's stomach had been slit and Hind had chewed his liver, but she was unable to swallow it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Has she eaten any of it?' They said, 'No.' He said, 'Allah would not let anything of Hamzah enter the Fire.' So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ placed Hamzah and offered the funeral prayer for him. Then another man was brought from the Ansar and placed by his side, and the funeral prayer was offered for him. The Ansari was raised, and Hamzah was left without offering the funeral prayer for him until seventy prayers were offered for him that day."

They said, "Let's speak," meaning they wanted to talk. The Prophet ﷺ woke up and said, "Do as you were doing." So they did. He said, "And say the same to those who are sleeping or forget."

He said, "I lost the camel of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , so I went looking for it and found its rope hanging on a tree. I brought it to the Prophet ﷺ , and he happily mounted it. When the revelation came to the Prophet ﷺ , it was a burden on him, and we knew that. 0 Allah, enable me to derive benefit from my husband, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and from my father Abu Sufyan and from my brother Mu'awiya. Allah's Apostle ﷺ said: You have asked from Allah about durations of life already set, and the length of days already allotted and the sustenances the share of which has been fixed. Allah would not do anything earlier before its due time, or He would not delay anything beyond its due time. And if you were to ask Allah to provide you refuge from the torment of the HellFire, or from the torment of the grave, it would have good in store for you and better for you also. He (the narrator) further said: Mention was made before him about monkeys, and Mis'ar (one of the narrators) said: I think that (the narrator) also (made a mention) of the swine, which had suffered metamorphosis. Thereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: Verily, Allah did not cause the race of those which suffered metamorphosis to grow or they were not survived by young ones. Monkeys and swine had been in existence even before (the metamorphosis of the human beings). (Using translation from Muslim 2663b)
