الزهد لأحمد:١٣٤٩ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ حَدَّثَتْنَا صَافِيَةُ قَالَت سَمِعْتُ غُلَامَ مُطَرِّفٍ الَّذِي كَانَ مَعَهُ قَالَ أَقْبَلْتُ مَعَ مُطَرِّفٍ فِي لَيْلَةٍ ظَلْمَاءَ فَقَالَ لَهُ الْغُلَامُ لَا نُبْصِرُ شَيْئًا قَالَ

«فَأَضَاءَ لَهُ مِثْلَ السِّرَاجِ عَلَى طَرَفِ سَوْطِهِ»
