adab:956 –

Abu Razin said about Abu Hurayra, "I saw him striking his brow with his hand whole saying, 'People of Iraq, do you claim that I lie against the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace? Do you have enjoyment while I have the wrong action? I testify that I heard the , Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say, "When one of you breaks his sandal-strap, he should not walk in his other sandal until it is mended."'"  

الأدب المفرد:٩٥٦ – حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلاَمٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي رَزِينٍ

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ رَأَيْتُهُ يَضْرِبُ جَبْهَتَهُ بِيَدِهِ وَيَقُولُ يَا أَهْلَ الْعِرَاقِ أَتَزْعُمُونَ أَنِّي أَكْذِبُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَيَكُونُ لَكُمُ الْمَهْنَأُ وَعَلَيَّ الْمَأْثَمُ؟ أَشْهَدُ لَسَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِذَا انْقَطَعَ شِسْعُ نَعْلِ أَحَدِكُمْ فَلاَ يَمْشِي فِي نَعْلِهِ الأُخْرَى حَتَّى يُصْلِحَهُ

muslim:2098a – Abū Bakr b. Abū Shaybah And ʾAbū Kurayb Wa-al-Lafẓ Lʾabī Kurayb > Ibn Idrīs > al-Aʿmash > Abū Razīn

Abu Huraira came to us and he struck his forehead with his hand and said: Behold I you talk amongst yourself that I attribute wrongly to Messenger of Allah ﷺ (certain things) in order to guide you to the right path. In such a case, I would myself go astray. Listen. I bear testimony to the fact that I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: When the thong of any one of you is broken, he should not walk in the second one until he has got it repaired.  

مسلم:٢٠٩٨a – حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ وَأَبُو كُرَيْبٍ وَاللَّفْظُ لأَبِي كُرَيْبٍ قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ إِدْرِيسَ عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي رَزِينٍ قَالَ

خَرَجَ إِلَيْنَا أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ فَضَرَبَ بِيَدِهِ عَلَى جَبْهَتِهِ فَقَالَ أَلاَ إِنَّكُمْ تَحَدَّثُونَ أَنِّي أَكْذِبُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ لِتَهْتَدُوا وَأَضِلَّ أَلاَ وَإِنِّي أَشْهَدُ لَسَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِذَا انْقَطَعَ شِسْعُ أَحَدِكُمْ فَلاَ يَمْشِ فِي الأُخْرَى حَتَّى يُصْلِحَهَا  

nasai:5370 – Isḥāq b. Ibrāhīm > Abū Muʿāwiyah > al-Aʿmash > Abū Razīn > Raʾayt Abū Hurayrah Yaḍrib Biyadih > Jabhatih

"I saw Abu Hurairah clap his hand to his forehead and say: 'O people of Al-'Iraq, you claim that I tell lies about the Messenger of Allah [SAW]. I bear witness that I heard the Messenger of Allah [SAW] say: If the strap of the sandal of one of you breaks, let him not walk in the other until he fixes it.'"  

النسائي:٥٣٧٠ – أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الأَعْمَشُ عَنْ أَبِي رَزِينٍ قَالَ

رَأَيْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَضْرِبُ بِيَدِهِ عَلَى جَبْهَتِهِ يَقُولُ يَا أَهْلَ الْعِرَاقِ تَزْعُمُونَ أَنِّي أَكْذِبُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَشْهَدُ لَسَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِذَا انْقَطَعَ شِسْعُ نَعْلِ أَحَدِكُمْ فَلاَ يَمْشِ فِي الأُخْرَى حَتَّى يُصْلِحَهَا  

ibnmajah:363 – Abū Bakr b. Abū Shaybah > Abū Muʿāwiyah > al-Aʿmash > Abū Razīn > Raʾayt Abū Hurayrah Yaḍrib Jabhatah Biyadih

'I saw Abu Hurairah hitting his forehead with his hand and saying: "O people of Iraq! Do you claim that I would tell a lie against the Messenger of Allah so that it may be more convenient for you and a sin upon me?' I bear witness that I heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'If a dog licks the vessel of anyone of you, let him wash it seven times.'"  

ابن ماجة:٣٦٣ – حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي رَزِينٍ قَالَ

رَأَيْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَضْرِبُ جَبْهَتَهُ بِيَدِهِ وَيَقُولُ يَا أَهْلَ الْعِرَاقِ أَنْتُمْ تَزْعُمُونَ أَنِّي أَكْذِبُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ لِيَكُونَ لَكُمُ الْمَهْنَأُ وَعَلَىَّ الإِثْمُ أَشْهَدُ لَسَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِذَا وَلَغَ الْكَلْبُ فِي إِنَاءِ أَحَدِكُمْ فَلْيَغْسِلْهُ سَبْعَ مَرَّاتٍ
