[Machine] I went to the Prophet ﷺ one day with a basket of dates. I said, "Pray to Allah for His blessing upon them." He then lined them up in front of him and said to me, "Put them in a container without scattering them." He said to me, "Take some of them and distribute them for the sake of Allah, both for eating and giving to others." And they were always in plenty for me. But when Uthman was killed, my supply stopped abruptly.

أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَوْمًا بِتَمَرَاتٍ فَقُلْتُ ادْعُ اللهَ لِي فِيهِنَّ بِالْبَرَكَةِ قَالَ فَصَفَّهُنَّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ قَالَ ثُمَّ دَعَا فَقَالَ لِي اجْعَلْهُنَّ فِي مِزْوَدٍ فَأَدْخِلْ يَدَكَ وَلَا تَنْثُرْهُ قَالَ فَحَمَلْتُ مِنْهُ كَذَا وَكَذَا وَسْقًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ وَنَأْكُلُ وَنُطْعِمُ وَكَانَ لَا يُفَارِقُ حَقْوِي فَلَمَّا قُتِلَ عُثْمَانُ انْقَطَعَ عَنْ حَقْوِي فَسَقَطَ

[Machine] "I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with dates that I had arranged in my hands, and I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, pray for blessings in these dates for me.' So he prayed for blessings in them and said, 'When you want to take something, put your hand in and do not scatter it.' Abu Hurairah said, 'So I carried some of those dates in this way and that way and gave them as water in the cause of Allah. We would eat from it and feed others, and it continued to suffice me until the nights of Uthman ceased.'"

أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِتَمَرَاتٍ قَدْ صَفَفْتُهُنَّ فِي يَدَيَّ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ادْعُ لِي فِيهِنَّ بِالْبَرَكَةِ فَدَعَا لِي فِيهِنَّ بِالْبَرَكَةِ وَقَالَ «إِذَا أَرَدْتَ أَنْ تَأْخُذَ شَيْئًا فَأَدْخِلْ يَدَكَ وَلَا تَنْثُرْهُ نَثْرًا» قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ «فَحَمَلْتُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ التَّمْرِ كَذَا وَكَذَا وَسْقًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَكُنَّا نَطْعَمُ مِنْهُ وَنُطْعِمُ وَكَانَ فِي حِقْوِي حَتَّى انْقَطَعَ مِنِّي لَيَالِيَ عُثْمَانَ»
