"One morning, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was prevented from coming to us for Salat As-Subh, until we were just about to look for the eye of the sun (meaning sunrise). Then he came out quickly, had the Salat prepared for. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed the Salat, and he performed his Salat in a relatively quick manner. When he said the Salam, he called aloud with his voice saying to us: 'Stay in your rows as you are.' Then he turned coming near to us, then he said: 'I am going to narrate to you what kept me from you this morning: I got up during the night, I performed Wudu and prayed as much as I was able to, and I dozed off during my Salat, and fell deep asleep. Then I saw my Lord, Blessed and Most High, in the best of appearances. He said: 'O Muhammad!' I said: 'My Lord here I am my Lord!' He said: 'What is it that the most exalted group busy themselves with?' I said: 'I do not know Lord.' And He said it three times." He said: "So I saw Him place His Palm between my shoulders, and I sensed the coolness of His Fingertips between my breast. Then everything was disclosed for me, and I became aware. So He said: 'O Muhammad!' I said: 'Here I am my Lord!' He said: 'What is it that the most exalted group busy themselves with?' I said: 'In the acts that atone.' He said: 'And what are they?' I said: 'The footsteps to the congregation, the gatherings in the Masajid after the Salat, Isbagh Al-Wudu during difficulties.' He said: 'Then what else?' I said: 'Feeding others, being lenient in speech, and Salat during the night while the people are sleeping.' He said: 'Ask.' I said: 'O Allah! I ask of you the doing of the good deeds, avoiding the evil deeds, loving the poor, and that You forgive me, and have mercy upon me. And when You have willed Fitnah in the people, then take me without the Fitnah. And I ask You for Your love, the love of whomever You love, and the love of the deeds that bring one nearer to Your love.'" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Indeed it is true, so study it and learn it."

[Machine] We were informed by Shaddad bin Abdullah Al-Damishqi, who was one of the companions of the Prophet ﷺ , that Abu Umarah said, "O Amr bin Abasah, the companion of wisdom, the wisdom of giving charity is a man from the tribe of Bani Sulaym. What makes you claim that you are a quarter of Islam?" He said, "In the period of ignorance, I used to see people in misguidance and I did not see any value in idols. Then I heard about a man who was reporting news from Makkah and narrating stories. So, I rode my camel until I reached Makkah, where I found the Messenger of Allah ﷺ hiding while his people were bold against him. I showed kindness to him and entered to meet him. I asked him, 'Who are you?' He said, ‘I am the Messenger of Allah.’ I asked, 'What is a Messenger of Allah?' He said, 'The Messenger of Allah is a Prophet.' I asked, 'Did Allah send you?' He said, 'Yes.' I asked, 'For what purpose did Allah send you?' He said, 'To worship Allah alone and not associate anything with Him, to demolish idols, and to maintain family ties.' Then I asked, 'Who is with you in this?' He said, 'The free and the slave or the slave and the free.' And he mentioned that Abu Bakr bin Abi Quhafa and Bilal, the slave of Abu Bakr, were with him. I said, 'I will follow you.' He said, 'You are not capable of that today, but return to your family. When you hear that I have emerged, come to me.' So, I returned to my family and I embraced Islam. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ migrated to Madinah, and I continued to search for news until a delegation from Yathrib came. I asked, 'Who is this Makkian man who has come to you?' They said, 'His people wanted to kill him, but they were unable, so there was a treaty between him and them.' And we left the people in confusion. I, Amr bin Abasah, rode my camel until I reached Madinah. I entered and said, 'O Messenger of Allah, do you recognize me?' He said, 'Yes, aren't you the one who came to me from Makkah?' I said, 'Indeed.' So, I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, teach me what Allah has taught you, for I am ignorant.' He said, 'If you pray Fajr, then shorten your prayer until the sun rises. Then do not pray until it is fully elevated, as at that time, the disbelievers prostrate to it. When it rises the height of a spear or two, then pray, as the prayer is witnessed and forbidden until the spear is shaded by the shadow. Then shorten your prayer, as at that time, Hellfire is kindled. When the sun has fully set, then you may pray Asr. When you pray Asr, then shorten your prayer until the sun has set, as at that time, the disbelievers prostrate to it.' I said, 'O Prophet of Allah, tell me about ablution.' He said, 'None of you should perform ablution, then rinse the mouth, sniff water into the nose, and blow it out, except that his sins are expiated from his mouth and nostrils with the water when it flows. Then, wash his face as Allah, the Most High, ordered.'

[Machine] From some of the companions of the Prophet ﷺ , they said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to them one morning, with a pleasant smell and a radiant face. We said, "O Prophet of Allah, we see you with a pleasant smell and a radiant face." He said, "What prevents me? Allah came to me tonight in the best form and said, 'O Muhammad, I said '[Here I am], my Lord, at Your service and pleasure.' He said, 'What is the dispute of the highest assembly?' I said, 'I do not know which Lord.' He said, 'That's twice or three times.' He then placed his hands between my shoulders and I felt its coolness between my chest until it became clear to me what is in the heavens and on earth. Then he recited this verse, 'Thus We show Abraham the kingdom of the heavens and the earth that he might be among the certain.' Then he said, 'O Muhammad, what is the dispute of the highest assembly?' I said, 'In performing the expiations.' He said, 'What are the expiations?' I said, 'Walking to the congregational prayer, sitting in the mosque after the prayer, contrary to the disliked acts, and perfecting the ablution in disliked conditions.' He said, 'Whoever does that, they live and die in goodness, and their sins are as if they were born that day. And among the ranks is good speech, giving greetings, feeding the hungry, and praying at night while people are asleep.' He said, 'O Muhammad, when you pray, say, 'O Allah, I ask You for what is good and to leave that which is evil, and to love the poor, and for You to forgive me. And when you desire affliction for the people, then take me before it touches me.'

And I ask You for Your love, the love of whomever You love, and the love of the deeds that bring one nearer to Your love.'" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Indeed it is true, so study it and learn it." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3235)

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ detained us for Fajr prayer until the sun was about to rise. When he prayed Fajr with us, he said, "I prayed all night and the night was not fully completed for me, and I laid down in the Mosque. Then my Lord came to me in the finest form and said, 'O Muhammad! Do you know what the highest assembly disputes about?' I said, 'No, O Lord.' He said it three times, and I responded three times. Then He placed His hand between my shoulders, and I felt the coolness of His hand between my chest. Everything was unveiled to me, and I recognized it. I asked about the degrees and expiations. He asked, 'What are the degrees?' I said, 'Feeding the needy, spreading peace, prayer, while people are asleep.' He said, 'You have spoken the truth.' He asked, 'What are the expiations?' I said, 'Pouring water for ablution onto the joints, waiting for the next prayer after performing one, and taking steps to the congregational prayers.' He said, 'You have spoken the truth.' He said, 'Ask, O Muhammad.' I said, 'O Allah! I ask You for performing righteous deeds, abstaining from sins, and love for the poor. And I ask You for forgiveness and mercy. And when You intend to test Your slaves, take me to You while I am still steadfast. O Allah! I ask You for Your love, and the love of those who love You, and the love for deeds that will draw me closer to Your love.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Teach them and instruct them, for they are true.'"

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ delayed the Fajr prayer for us until the sun almost rose, so he went out and led us in prayer. [Machine] I went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and when he saw me, I heard him say, "This is the master of the Arabs." He then said, "When we descended, I came to him and started talking to him." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, the wealth that I have does not have any followers from guests, and my dependents have increased." He said, "The best wealth is 40 dinars and more, and woe to those who have 200 dinars, unless they give in its messengers, emergencies, and to the poor, and slaughter their fat camels to feed the contented and the needy." I said, "O Prophet of Allah, what noble manners and good conduct!" He said, "What do you do?" I said, "The camels graze, and people come and whoever wishes takes the lead of a she-camel and takes it away." He said, "What do you do with the weak camels?" I said, "I do not give away the young or the wounded she-camels." He said, "What is more beloved to you, your wealth or the wealth of your allies?" I said, "My wealth is more beloved to me than the wealth of my allies." He said, "Then, you have from your wealth what you have eaten and exhausted, or what you have worn and worn out, or what you have given away and spent, and otherwise they gather it and give it to you." I said, "By Allah, even if they remain, I will spend their number." Al-Hasan said, "So he did, by Allah." When death approached Qays, he said, "O my sons, take advice from me. I find nothing more sincere for you than what I advise you with when I die. So, honor your elders and do not dishonor your young ones, as people will laugh at you and disrespect you. And be wary of asking, as it is the end of a person's earning. For no one asks except that his earning is left behind. And when I die, do not wail over me, as I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbidding wailing. Shroud me in the same clothes that I used to pray and fast in. And when you bury me, do not bury me in a place where anyone can see me, for there were some disputes between me and Bakr ibn Wail in the time of ignorance, and I fear they may dig me up and do things that would harm your religion and worldly affairs." from Ibn 'Abbas that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "During the night, my Lord, Blessed is He, and Most High, came to me in the best of appearances." He (one of the narrators) said - I think he said it was during a dream - "So he said: 'O Muhammad! Do you know in what the most exalted group busy themselves with?'" He said: "I said: 'No.'" He said: "So He placed His Hand between my shoulders, until I sensed its coolness between my breast." - or he said: "on my throat, so I knew what was in the heavens, and what was in the earth. He said: 'O Muhammad! Do you know in what the most exalted group busy themselves with?' I said: 'Yes, in the acts that atone: and the acts that atone are; lingering in the Masjid after the Salat, walking on the feet to the congregation, Isbagh Al-Wudu, in difficulty, and whoever does that, he lives in goodness and dies upon goodness, and his wrongs shall be like that of the day his mother bore him.' He said: 'O Muhammad! When you have performed Salat then say: 'O Allah! Indeed I ask of You, the doing of good deeds, avoiding the evil deeds, and loving the poor. And when you have willed Fitnah for your slave, then take me to You, without making me suffer from Fitnah.'" He [the Prophet ﷺ] said: "And the acts that raise ranks are spreading the Salam, feeding others, and Salat during the night, while the people are sleeping." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3233)
