[Machine] I was with Anas at a funeral, and he commanded to bring the deceased, so he was questioned by the gravedigger.
كُنْتُ مَعَ أَنَسٍ فِي جِنَازَةٍ فَأَمَرَ بِالْمَيِّتِ فَسُلَّ مِنْ قِبَلِ رِجْلَ الْقَبْرِ
[Machine] I was with Anas at a funeral, and he commanded to bring the deceased, so he was questioned by the gravedigger.
كُنْتُ مَعَ أَنَسٍ فِي جِنَازَةٍ فَأَمَرَ بِالْمَيِّتِ فَسُلَّ مِنْ قِبَلِ رِجْلَ الْقَبْرِ
[Machine] Anas used to perform the prayer better than anyone else, both in travel and at home.
كَانَ أَنَسٌ أَحْسَنَ النَّاسِ صَلَاةً فِي السَّفَرِ وَالْحَضَرِ
[Machine] I saw Anas ibn Malik observing something while he was praying and looking at it.
رَأَيْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَسْتَشْرِفُ لِشَيْءٍ وَهُوَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ يَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهِ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Do not follow a funeral with a loud voice or fire, and do not walk in front of it."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَا تُتْبَعُ الْجِنَازَةُ بِصَوْتٍ وَلَا نَارٍ وَلَا يُمْشَى بَيْنَ يَدَيْهَا
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The funeral procession should not be followed by crying or fires, and it should not be walked between."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا يَتْبَعُ الْجِنَازَةَ صَوْتٌ وَلَا نَارٌ وَلَا يُمْشَى بَيْنَ يَدَيْهَا
Richness does not lie in the abundance of (worldly) goods but richness is the richness of the soul (heart, self). (Using translation from Muslim 1051)
أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ حَدِيثٌ لَا أَحْسِبُهُ إِلَّا رَفَعَهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ لَيْسَ الْغِنَى عَنْ كَثْرَةِ الْعَرَضِ وَلَكِنَّ الْغِنَى غِنَى النَّفْسِ وَاللهِ مَا أَخْشَى عَلَيْكُمُ الْفَقْرَ وَلَكِنْ أَخْشَى عَلَيْكُمُ التَّكَاثُرَ وَمَا أَخْشَى عَلَيْكُمُ الْخَطَأَ وَلَكِنْ أَخْشَى عَلَيْكُمُ الْعَمْدَ
[Machine] Abu Huraira narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said: Allah says, "I am as My servant thinks of Me, and I am with him when he calls upon Me."
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ يَرْفَعُهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ يَقُولُ اللهُ ﷻ عَبْدِي عِنْدَ ظَنِّهِ بِي وَأَنَا مَعَهُ إِذَا دَعَانِي
[Machine] "Al-Khudri is the mosque of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and Al-Amri said it is the Mosque of Quba'. So they came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and asked him about that. He said, 'It is the mosque of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.' And he said about that [Quba'] is a great goodness, meaning the Mosque of Quba'."
الْخُدْرِيُّ هُوَ مَسْجِدُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَقَالَ الْعَمْرِيُّ هُوَ مَسْجِدُ قُبَاءَ فَأَتَيَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَسَأَلَاهُ عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ هُوَ هَذَا الْمَسْجِدُ لِمَسْجِدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَقَالَ فِي ذَاكَ خَيْرٌ كَثِيرٌ يَعْنِي مَسْجِدَ قُبَاءَ
[Machine] Abu Sa'id said, "We used to give the Zakat al-Fitr during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as a saa' of dates, barley, raisins, or dry cottage cheese."
عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ لَمْ نَزَلْ نُخْرِجُ زَكَاةَ الْفِطْرِ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ صَاعٌ مِنْ تَمْرٍ أَوْ شَعِيرٍ أَوْ أَقِطٍ أَوْ زَبِيبٍ
[Machine] "To establish the prayer of fear, whether on foot or mounted." [Surah Al-Baqarah 2:239]
أَنْ يَنْزِلَ صَلَاةَ الْخَوْفِ فَرِجَالًا أَوْ رُكْبَانًا [البقرة 239]
[Machine] "My brother passed away, so I went to Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri and said, 'O Abu Sa'id, indeed my brother passed away and left behind children, and I also have children but we do not have any means. I intended to go out with my children and my brother's children so that we could stay in some of these regions where life might be easier for us.' He said, 'Woe to you, do not go out! Verily, I heard the Prophet ﷺ say, 'Whoever remains patient upon hardships and difficulties, I will be an intercessor or a witness for him on the Day of Judgment.''"
تُوُفِّيَ أَخِي وَأَتَيْتُ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ فَقُلْتُ يَا أَبَا سَعِيدٍ إِنَّ أَخِي تُوُفِّيَ وَتَرَكَ عِيَالًا وَلِي عِيَالٌ وَلَيْسَ لَنَا مَالٌ وَقَدْ أَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَخْرُجَ بِعِيَالِي وَعِيَالِ أَخِي حَتَّى نَنْزِلَ بَعْضَ هَذِهِ الْأَمْصَارِ فَيَكُونَ أَرْفَقَ عَلَيْنَا فِي مَعِيشَتِنَا قَالَ وَيْحَكَ لَا تَخْرُجْ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ يَعْنِي النَّبِيَّ ﷺ مَنْ صَبَرَ عَلَى لَأْوَائِهَا وَشِدَّتِهَا كُنْتُ لَهُ شَفِيعًا أَوْ شَهِيدًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ
He bears witness, from Abu Hurairah and Abu Sa’eed Al-Khudri, that they bear witness, from the Messenger of Allah, that he said: “There is no group that remembers Allah, except that the angels encompass them, mercy covers them, and tranquility descends upon them: and Allah remembers (mentions) them before those who are with Him.” (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3378)
عَنِ الْأَغَرِّ أَبِي مُسْلِمٍ قَالَأَشْهَدُ عَلَى أَبِي سَعِيدٍ وَأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّهُمَا شَهِدَا لِي عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ وَأَنَا أَشْهَدُ عَلَيْهِمَا مَا قَعَدَ قَوْمٌ يَذْكُرُونَ اللهَ إِلَّا حَفَّتْ بِهِمُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ وَتَنَزَّلَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ السَّكِينَةُ وَتَغَشَّتْهُمُ الرَّحْمَةُ وَذَكَرَهُمُ اللهُ فِيمَنْ عِنْدَهُ
[Machine] "From Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri, he said the like of it and added to it, then he regrets it and brings it to the leader who says to him, 'We do not accept anything that is given to us.'"
عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ مِثْلَهُ وَزَادَ فِيهِ فَيَنْدَمُ فَيَأْتِي بِهِ السَّادِنَ فَيَقُولُ لَهُ لَا نَقْبَلُ شَيْئًا أَعْطَيْنَاهُ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "No one will enter Paradise except by the mercy of Allah." We said, "Not even you, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "Not even me, unless Allah bestows His mercy upon me." And he said, while raising his hand above his head.
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَنْ يَدْخُلَ الْجَنَّةَ أَحَدٌ إِلَّا بِرَحْمَةِ اللهِ قُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَلَا أَنْتَ؟ قَالَ وَلَا أَنَا إِلَّا أَنْ يَتَغَمَّدَنِيَ اللهُ بِرَحْمَتِهِ وَقَالَ بِيَدِهِ فَوْقَ رَأْسِهِ
[Machine] I said to Abu Sa'eed al-Khudri: "Indeed, among us are men who are more knowledgeable in the Quran, who pray more, who uphold family ties, and who fast more. Yet, they come out against us with their swords." Abu Sa'eed said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'There will emerge a group of people who recite the Quran, but it will not go beyond their throats. They will pass through the religion just as an arrow passes through its target.'"
قُلْتُ لِأَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ إِنَّ مِنَّا رِجَالًا هُمْ أَقْرَؤُنَا لِلْقُرْآنِ وَأَكْثَرُنَا صَلَاةً وَأَوْصَلُنَا لِلرَّحِمِ وَأَكْثَرُنَا صَوْمًا خَرَجُوا عَلَيْنَا بِأَسْيَافِهِمْ فَقَالَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ يَخْرُجُ قَوْمٌ يَقْرَءُونَ الْقُرْآنَ لَا يُجَاوِزُ حَنَاجِرَهُمْ يَمْرُقُونَ مِنَ الدِّينِ كَمَا يَمْرُقُ السَّهْمُ مِنَ الرَّمِيَّةِ
[Machine] Abu Sa'id and Marwan were sitting when a funeral passed by them. Abu Sa'id stood up, and Marwan said, "Sit down." Abu Sa'id said, "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stand up, so Marwan stood up and said, 'Wakia, a funeral passed by him, so he stood up.'"
كَانَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ وَمَرْوَانُ جَالِسَيْنِ فَمُرَّ عَلَيْهِمَا بِجَنَازَةٍ فَقَامَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ فَقَالَ مَرْوَانُ اجْلِسْ فَقَالَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَامَ فَقَامَ مَرْوَانُ وَقَالَ وَكِيعٌ مَرَّتْ بِهِ جَنَازَةٌ فَقَامَ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, the most beloved of people to Allah on the Day of Resurrection and the closest of them to Him in position will be a just leader. And indeed, the most hated of people to Allah on the Day of Resurrection and the one who will receive the severest punishment will be an unjust leader."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ أَحَبَّ النَّاسِ إِلَى اللهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَأَقْرَبَهُمْ مِنْهُ مَجْلِسًا إِمَامٌ عَادِلٌ وَإِنَّ أَبْغَضَ النَّاسِ إِلَى اللهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَأَشَدَّهُمْ عَذَابًا إِمَامٌ جَائِرٌ
[Machine] Qatadah reported regarding the saying of Allah, "And We will remove whatever is in their breasts of resentment" [Al-A'raf 43], Abu al-Mutawakkil reported from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The believers will be purified from the Hellfire and they will be held on a bridge between Paradise and Hell, and they will take retribution from each other."
عَنْ قَتَادَةَ فِي قَوْلِهِ {وَنَزَعْنَا مَا فِي صُدُورِهِمْ مِنْ غِلٍّ} [الأعراف 43] قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُتَوَكِّلِ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَخْلُصُ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ مِنَ النَّارِ فَيُحْبَسُونَ عَلَى قَنْطَرَةٍ بَيْنَ الْجَنَّةِ وَالنَّارِ فَيُقْتَصُّ لِبَعْضِهِمْ مِنْ بَعْضٍ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Verily, Allah has chosen four phrases from among speech, 'Subhan Allah', 'Alhamdulillah', 'La ilaha illa Allah', and 'Allahu Akbar'. Whoever says 'Subhan Allah', twenty good deeds will be written for him or twenty bad deeds will be erased from him. Whoever says 'Allahu Akbar', the same will be recorded for him. Whoever says 'La ilaha illa Allah', the same will be recorded for him. Whoever says 'Alhamdulillah, Rabbil 'alamin' (Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds) by himself, thirty good deeds will be written for him and thirty bad deeds will be erased from him."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ اللهَ اصْطَفَى مِنَ الْكَلَامِ أَرْبَعًا سُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ وَلَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَاللهُ أَكْبَرُ فَمَنْ قَالَ سُبْحَانَ اللهِ كُتِبَ لَهُ عِشْرُونَ حَسَنَةً أَوْ حُطَّتْ عَنْهُ عِشْرُونَ سَيِّئَةً وَمَنْ قَالَ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ مِثْلُ ذَلِكَ وَمَنْ قَالَ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ مِثْلُ ذَلِكَ وَمَنْ قَالَ الْحَمْدُلِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ مِنْ قِبَلِ نَفْسِهِ كُتِبَ أَوْ كُتِبَتْ لَهُ ثَلَاثُونَ حَسَنَةً وَحُطَّ أَوْ حُطَّتْ عَنْهُ بِهَا ثَلَاثُونَ سَيِّئَةً
[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ, he said: "Indeed, Allah has chosen four statements: subhanAllah (glory be to Allah), alhamdulillah (praise be to Allah), la ilaha illallah (there is no God but Allah), and Allahu Akbar (Allah is the greatest). Whoever says subhanAllah, twenty good deeds will be written for him and twenty bad deeds will be erased from him. Whoever says Allahu Akbar, the same will be written for him. Whoever says la ilaha illallah, the same will be written for him. And whoever says alhamdulillah, Rab il Alameen (praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds) on his own, thirty good deeds will be written for him or thirty bad deeds will be erased from him."
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ اللهَ اصْطَفَى مِنَ الْكَلَامِ أَرْبَعًا سُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ وَلَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَاللهُ أَكْبَرُ فَمَنْ قَالَ سُبْحَانَ اللهِ كُتِبَ لَهُ عِشْرُونَ حَسَنَةً وَحُطَّ عَنْهُ عِشْرُونَ سَيِّئَةً وَمَنْ قَالَ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ فَمِثْلُ ذَلِكَ وَمَنْ قَالَ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ فَمِثْلُ ذَلِكَ وَمَنْ قَالَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ مِنْ قِبَلِ نَفْسِهِ كُتِبَ لَهُ بِهَا ثَلَاثُونَ حَسَنَةً أَوْ حُطَّ عَنْهُ ثَلَاثُونَ سَيِّئَةً
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, Allah has chosen four phrases from speech: Subhan Allah (glory be to Allah), Alhamdulillah (all praise is due to Allah), La ilaha illa Allah (there is no god but Allah), and Allahu Akbar (Allah is the greatest). Whoever says Subhan Allah, Allah will write for him/her twenty good deeds or erase twenty bad deeds, and whoever says Allahu Akbar, the same will be written for him/her. Whoever says La ilaha illa Allah, the same will be written for him/her. Whoever says Alhamdulillah, Lord of the worlds, from the bottom of their heart, Allah will write for him/her thirty good deeds or erase thirty bad deeds."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ اللهَ اصْطَفَى مِنَ الْكَلَامِ أَرْبَعًا سُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ وَلَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَاللهُ أَكْبَرُ فَمَنْ قَالَ سُبْحَانَ اللهِ كَتَبَ اللهُ لَهُ عِشْرِينَ حَسَنَةً أَوْ حَطَّ عَنْهُ عِشْرِينَ سَيِّئَةً وَمَنْ قَالَ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ فَمِثْلُ ذَلِكَ وَمَنْ قَالَ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ فَمِثْلُ ذَلِكَ وَمَنْ قَالَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ مِنْ قِبَلِ نَفْسِهِ كُتِبَتْ لَهُ ثَلَاثُونَ حَسَنَةً أَوْ حُطَّ عَنْهُ ثَلَاثُونَ سَيِّئَةً
[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ, he said: "Indeed, Allah ﷻ has chosen four phrases from speech: SubhanAllah (Glory be to Allah), Alhamdulillah (All praise is due to Allah), La ilaha illallah (There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah), and Allahu Akbar (Allah is the greatest). He said: Whoever says SubhanAllah, twenty good deeds are recorded for him and twenty sins are removed from him. Whoever says Allahu Akbar, the same applies to him. Whoever says La ilaha illallah, the same applies to him. And whoever says Alhamdulillah, Rabbil Alamin (All praise is due to Allah, Lord of all the worlds) out of his own free will, thirty good deeds are recorded for him and thirty sins are removed from him."
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ اصْطَفَى مِنَ الْكَلَامِ أَرْبَعًا سُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ وَلَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَاللهُ أَكْبَرُ قَالَ وَمَنْ قَالَ سُبْحَانَ اللهِ كُتِبَ لَهُ عِشْرُونَ حَسَنَةً وَحُطَّ عَنْهُ عِشْرُونَ سَيِّئَةً وَمَنْ قَالَ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ فَمِثْلُ ذَلِكَ وَمَنْ قَالَ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ فَمِثْلُ ذَلِكَ وَمَنْ قَالَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ مِنْ قِبَلِ نَفْسِهِ كُتِبَ لَهُ بِهَا ثَلَاثُونَ حَسَنَةً وَحُطَّ عَنْهُ بِهَا ثَلَاثُونَ سَيِّئَةً
The Messenger of Allah said: "There is no ablution for one who does not mention the Name of Allah (before doing it)." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 397)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا وُضُوءَ لِمَنْ لَمْ يَذْكُرْ اسْمَ اللهِ عَلَيْهِ
[Machine] When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ chose Safiyyah, he stayed with her for three nights and she was married to him.
لَمَّا اتَّخَذَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ صَفِيَّةَ أَقَامَ عِنْدَهَا ثَلَاثًا وَكَانَتْ ثَيِّبًا
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "I entered Paradise and heard a rustle before me. It was Ghumaisa bint Milhan, the mother of Anas ibn Malik."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ دَخَلْتُ الْجَنَّةَ فَسَمِعْتُ خَشْفةً بَيْنَ يَدَيَّ فَإِذَا هِيَ الْغُمَيْصَاءُ بِنْتُ مِلْحَانَ أُمُّ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I entered Jannah and heard the sound of footsteps in front of me. Lo and behold, I found myself in the company of Ghumaisa bint Milhan."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ دَخَلْتُ الْجَنَّةَ فَسَمِعْتُ بَيْنَ يَدَيَّ خَشْفَةً فَإِذَا أَنَا بِالْغُمَيْصَاءِ بِنْتِ مِلْحَانَ
I entered Paradise and heard the noise of steps. I said: Who is it? They said: She is Ghumaisa, daughter of Milhan, the mother of Anas b. Malik. (Using translation from Muslim 2456)
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ دَخَلْتُ الْجَنَّةَ فَسَمِعْتُ بَيْنَ يَدَيَّ خَشَفَةً فَقُلْتُ مَا هَذَا؟ قَالُوا الْغُمَيْصَاءُ بِنْتُ مِلْحَانَ أُمُّ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ
"On the Day of Uhud, the incisors of the Prophet ﷺ were broken, and he had a facial wound in the area of the forehead, such that the blood flowed over his face. He said: 'How can a people that do this to their Prophet succeed, while he is calling them to Allah?' So the following was revealed: Not for you is the decision; whether He turns in mercy towards them or punished them... (3:128) until its end." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3002)
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كُسِرَتْ رَبَاعِيَتُهُ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ وَشُجَّ فِي جَبْهَتِهِ حَتَّى سَالَ الدَّمُ عَلَى وَجْهِهِ فَقَالَ كَيْفَ يُفْلِحُ قَوْمٌ فَعَلُوا هَذَا بِنَبِيِّهِمْ وَهُوَ يَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَى رَبِّهِمْ فَنَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ {لَيْسَ لَكَ مِنَ الْأَمْرِ شَيْءٌ أَوْ يَتُوبَ عَلَيْهِمْ أَوْ يُعَذِّبَهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ ظَالِمُونَ} [آل عمران 128]
[Machine] It was narrated that the Prophet ﷺ was struck on his face on the day of Uhud, and his tooth was broken, and he was hit with a stone on his shoulder, causing blood to flow on his face. He wiped it off while saying, "How can a nation succeed when they harm their Prophet, while their Prophet is calling them to Allah?" Then Allah revealed the verse, "You have no power over the affair, or over them. But if they turn away, then your duty is only to convey the message" [Surah Al-Imran 128] until the end of the verse.
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ شُجَّ فِي وَجْهِهِ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ وَكُسِرَتْ رَبَاعِيَتُهُ وَرُمِيَ رَمْيَةً عَلَى كَتِفَيْهِ فَجَعَلَ الدَّمُ يَسِيلُ عَلَى وَجْهِهِ وَهُوَ يَمْسَحُهُ عَنْ وَجْهِهِ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ كَيْفَ تُفْلِحُ أُمَّةٌ فَعَلُوابِنَبِيِّهِمْ ونَبِيُّهُمْ يَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَى اللهِ فَأَنْزَلَ {لَيْسَ لَكَ مِنَ الْأَمْرِ شَيْءٌ أَوْ يَتُوبَ عَلَيْهِمْ} [آل عمران 128] إِلَى آخِرِ الْآيَةَ
On the Day of Uhud, a molar of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was broken and he was wounded. Blood started pouring down his face, and he started to wipe his face and say: “How can any people prosper if they soak the face of their Prophet with blood when he is calling them to Allah?” Then Allah revealed: “Not for you is the decision.”[3:128] (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 4027)
لَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ أُحُدٍ كُسِرَتْ رَبَاعِيَةُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَشُجَّ فِي وَجْهِهِ قَالَ فَجَعَلَ الدَّمُ يَسِيلُ عَلَى وَجْهِهِ فَجَعَلَ يَمْسَحُ الدَّمَ عَنْ وَجْهِهِ وَيَقُولُ كَيْفَ يُفْلِحُ قَوْمٌ خَضَبُوا وَجْهَ نَبِيِّهِمْ بِالدَّمِ وَهُوَ يَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَى اللهِ قَالَ فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ {لَيْسَ لَكَ مِنَ الْأَمْرِ شَيْءٌ أَوْ يَتُوبَ عَلَيْهِمْ أَوْ يُعَذِّبَهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ ظَالِمُونَ} [آل عمران 128]
[Machine] "Indeed, the Prophet ﷺ was injured on the day of Uhud, and his shield was broken. He began wiping the blood from his face while saying, 'How can a people succeed who have splattered the face of their Prophet with blood while he calls them to their Lord?' Then the following verse was revealed: 'It is not for you [O Muhammad] to decide their fate or guide them. Indeed, they are the wrongdoers.' (Quran 3:128)"

that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ set Safiyyah free, and made her ransom her dowry, and he married her. (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1958)
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَعْتَقَ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتَ حُيَيٍّ وَجَعَلَ عِتْقَهَا صَدَاقَهَا
[Machine] A man sneezed in front of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ , and the other man praised him (the man who sneezed) by saying "May Allah have mercy on you." The Prophet ﷺ then said, "When one of you sneezes and praises Allah, let him say 'May Allah guide you and rectify your condition' (to the one who sneezed)."
عَطَسَ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ رَجُلَانِ فَشَمَّتَ أَحَدَهُمَا أَوْ قَالَ سَمَّتَ وَتَرَكَ الْآخَرَ فَقِيلَ رَجُلَانِ عَطَسَ أَحَدُهُمَا فَشَمَّتَّهُ وَلَمْ تُشَمِّتِ الْآخَرَ فَقَالَ إِنَّ هَذَاحَمِدَ اللهَ ﷻ
Two men sneezed in the presence of the prophet (May peace be upon him). He said : Allah have mercy on you! To one and not to the other. He was asked: Messenger of Allah! Two persons sneezed. Ahmad’s version has: You invoked a blessing on one of them and left the other. He replied : This man praised Allah, and this man did not praise Allah. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 5039)
عَطَسَ رَجُلَانِ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَشَمَّتَ أَحَدَهُمَا أَوْ قَالَ فسَمَّتَ أَحَدَهُمَا وَتَرَكَ الْآخَرَ فَقِيلَ هُمَا رَجُلَانِ عَطَسَا فَشَمَّتَّ أَوْ قَالَ فَسَمَّتَّ أَحَدَهُمَا وَتَرَكْتَ الْآخَرَ فَقَالَ إِنَّ هَذَا حَمِدَ اللهَ وَإِنَّ هَذَا لَمْ يَحْمَدِ اللهَ قَالَ سُلَيْمَانُ أُرَاهُ نَحْوًا مِنْ هَذَا
[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'If a morsel of food falls from any of you, let him pick it up and remove any harm from it, and do not leave it for the devil.'"
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا سَقَطَتْ لُقْمَةُ أَحَدِكُمْ فَلْيَأْخُذْهَا وَلْيَمْسَحْ مَا بِهَا مِنَ الْأَذَى وَلَا يَدَعْهَا لِلشَّيْطَانِ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not have twenty white hairs in his head and beard. Abu Bakr used to dye his hair and beard with henna and katam, and Umar used to dye his hair with henna.
لَمْ يَكُنْ فِي رَأْسِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَلِحْيَتِهِ عِشْرُونَ شَعَرَةً بَيْضَاءَ وَخَضَبَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ بِالْحِنَّاءِ وَالْكَتَمِ وَخَضَبَ عُمَرُ بِالْحِنَّاءِ
[Machine] Abu Taybah mentioned: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ measured out a saa' (a unit of measurement) of food for him, and then he spoke to his family and they reduced it for him."
حَجَمَ أَبُو طَيْبَةَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَعْطَاهُ صَاعًا مِنْ طَعَامٍ وَكَلَّمَ أَهْلَهُ فَخَفَّفُوا عَنْهُ
"Messenger of Allah was among the lightest of people in Salat with its completeness." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 237)
كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مِنْ أَتَمِّ النَّاسِ صَلَاةًوَأَوْجَزِهِ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مِنْ أَخَفِّ أَوْ أَتَمِّ النَّاسِ صَلَاةً وَأَوْجَزِهِ
[Machine] I heard Anas ibn Malik say, "I do not know anything today that we used to practice during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ." We asked him, "So where is the prayer?" He replied, "Did you not do in the prayer what you already knew?"
سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَقُولُ مَا أَعْرِفُ شَيْئًا الْيَوْمَ مِمَّا كُنَّا عَلَيْهِ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ قُلْنَا لَهُ فَأَيْنَ الصَّلَاةُ؟ قَالَ أَوَلَمْ تَصْنَعُوا فِي الصَّلَاةِ مَا قَدْ عَلِمْتُمْ
[Machine] I heard Anas bin Malik saying, "I do not know anything that I witnessed with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ today." Abu Rafi' said, "O Abu Hamzah, not even the prayer?" Anas said, "Did you not know what Al-Hajjaj did in the prayer?"
سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَقُولُ مَا أَعْرِفُ شَيْئًا مِمَّا عَهِدْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ الْيَوْمَ فَقَالَ أَبُو رَافِعٍ يَا أَبَا حَمْزَةَ وَلَا الصَّلَاةَ؟ فَقَالَ أَوَلَيْسَ قَدْ عَلِمْتُمْ مَا صَنَعَ الْحَجَّاجُ فِي الصَّلَاةِ
"Whenever the Messenger of Allah entered the toilet, he would say: 'A'udhu Billahi minal-khubthi wa'l-khaba'ith (I seek refuge with Allah from male and female devils).'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 298)
كَانَ نَبِيُّ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا دَخَلَ الْخَلَاءَ قَالَ أَعُوذُ بِاللهِ مِنَ الْخُبْثِ وَالْخَبَائِثِ
the Messenger of Allah used to sacrifice two rams. And Anas said: "And I sacrifice two rams." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4385)
كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُضَحِّي بِكَبْشَيْنِ قَالَ أَنَسٌ وَأَنَا أُضَحِّي بِكَبْشَيْنِ
He heard ʿUmar bin al-Khattab delivering a khutbah, He [ʼUmar] said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Whoever wears silk in this world will not wear it in the Hereafter.” (Using translation from Aḥmad 269)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ لَبِسَ الْحَرِيرَفِي الدُّنْيَا فَلَنْ يَلْبَسَهُ فِي الْآخِرَةِ
What is this? They said: It is for Zainab. She prays and when she slackens or feels tired she holds it. Upon this he (the Holy Prophet) said: Untie it. Let one pray as long as one feels fresh but when one slackens or becomes tired one must stop it. (And in the hadith transmitted by Zuhair it is:" He should sit down." ) (Using translation from Muslim 784a)
دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْمَسْجِدَ وَحَبْلٌ مَمْدُودٌ بَيْنَ سَارِيَتَيْنِ فَقَالَ مَا هَذَا؟ قَالُوا لِزَيْنَبَ تُصَلِّي فَإِذَا كَسِلَتْ أَوْ فَتَرَتْ أَمْسَكَتْ بِهِ فَقَالَ حُلُّوهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ لِيُصَلِّ أَحَدُكُمْ نَشَاطَهُ فَإِذَا كَسِلَ أَوْ فَتَرَ فَلْيَقْعُدْ
"The Iqamah for prayer was said, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was conversing privately with a man, and did not commence the prayer until the people slept." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 791)
أُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ وَرَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ نَجِيٌّ لِرَجُلٍ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَمَا قَامَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ حَتَّى نَامَ الْقَوْمُ
When Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to Medina, Abla Talha took hold of my hand and brought me to Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: Messenger of Allah, Anas is a prudent young boy, and he will serve you. He (Anas) said: I served him in journey and at home, but, by Allah, he never asked me about a thing which I did as to why I did so, nor about a thing which I did not do as to why I had not done that. لَمَّا قَدِمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ أَخَذَ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ بِيَدِي فَانْطَلَقَ بِي إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ أَنَسًا غُلَامٌ كَيِّسٌ فَلْيَخْدُمْكَ قَالَ فَخَدَمْتُهُ فِي السَّفَرِ وَالْحَضَرِ وَاللهِ مَا قَالَ لِي لِشَيْءٍ صَنَعْتُهُ لِمَ صَنَعْتَ هَذَا هَكَذَا؟ وَلَا لِشَيْءٍ لَمْ أَصْنَعْهُ لِمَ لَمْ تَصْنَعْ هَذَا هَكَذَا؟
“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ had a ring made for him, and he said: ‘I have had a ring made for me and had it engraved, and no one should make a ring with similar engraving.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3640)
اصْطَنَعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ خَاتَمًا فَقَالَ إِنَّا قَدِ اصْطَنَعْنَا خَاتَمًا وَنَقَشْنَا فِيهِ نَقْشًا فَلَا يَنْقُشُ أَحَدٌ عَلَيْهِ
The Prophet ﷺ used to pray a short prayer (in congregation) but used to offer it in a perfect manner. (Using translation from Bukhārī 706)
كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يُوجِزُ الصَّلَاةَ وَيُكْمِلُهَا
"The Messenger of Allah invaded Khaibar and we prayed Al-Ghadah (Fajr) there (early in the morning) when it was still dark. Then the Prophet rode and Abu Talha rode, and I was riding behind Abu Talha. The Prophet of Allah passed through the lane of Khaibar quickly, and my knee was touching the thigh of the Messenger of Allah, and I could see the whiteness of the thigh of the Prophet. When he entered the town he said: 'Allahu Akbar, Khaibar is destroyed! Whenever we approach a (hostile) nation to fight, evil will be the morning for those who have been warned.' He said this three times. The people came out for their work." (One of the narrators) 'Abdul-'Aziz said: "They said: 'Muhammad (has come)!'" 'Abdul-'Aziz said: "Some of our companions said: 'With his army.'" "We conquered Khaibar and gathered the captives. Dihyah came and said: 'O Prophet of Allah, give me a slave girl from among the captives.' He said: 'Go and take a slave girl.' He took Safiyyah bint Huyayy. Then a man came to the Prophet and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, you gave Dihyah Safiyyah bint Huyayy, and she is the chief mistress of Quraizah and An-Nadir, and she is fit for no one but you.' He said: 'Call him to bring her.' When the Prophet saw her, he said: 'Take any other slave girl from among the captives.'" He said: "The Prophet of Allah set her free and married her." (One of the narrators) Thabit said to him: "O Abu Hamzah, what dowry did he give her?" He (Anas) said: "Herself; he set her free and married her." He said: "While on the road, Umm Sulaim fitted her out and presented her to him in the night, and the following morning he was a bridegroom. He said: 'Whoever has anything, let him bring it.' He spread out a leather cloth and men came with cottage cheese, dates, and ghee, and they made Hais, and that was the Walimah (wedding feast) of the Messenger of Allah." أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ غَزَا خَيْبَرَ فَصَلَّيْنَا عِنْدَهَا صَلَاةَ الْغَدَاةِ بِغَلَسٍ فَرَكِبَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَرَكِبَ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ وَأَنَا رَدِيفُ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ فَأَجْرَى نَبِيُّ اللهِ ﷺ فِي زُقَاقِ خَيْبَرَ وَإِنَّ رُكْبَتَيَّ لَتَمَسُّ فَخِذَ نَبِيِّ اللهِ ﷺ وَانْحَسَرَ الْإِزَارُ عَنْ فَخِذِ نَبِيِّاللهِ ﷺ فَإِنِّي لَأَرَى بَيَاضَ فَخِذِ نَبِيِّ اللهِ ﷺ فَلَمَّا دَخَلَ الْقَرْيَةَ قَالَ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ خَرِبَتْ خَيْبَرُ إِنَّا إِذَا نَزَلْنَا بِسَاحَةِ قَوْمٍ فَسَاءَ صَبَاحُ الْمُنْذَرِينَ قَالَهَا ثَلَاثَ مِرَارٍ قَالَ وَقَدْ خَرَجَ الْقَوْمُ إِلَى أَعْمَالِهِمْ فَقَالُوا مُحَمَّدٌ قَالَ عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ وَقَالَ بَعْضُ أَصْحَابِنَا وَالْخُمُيسُ قَالَ فَأَصَبْنَاهَا عَنْوَةً فَجُمِعَ السَّبْيُ قَالَ فَجَاءَ دِحْيَةُ فَقَالَ يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ أَعْطِنِي جَارِيَةً مِنَ السَّبْيِ قَالَ اذْهَبْ فَخُذْ جَارِيَةً قَالَ فَأَخَذَ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتَ حُيَيٍّ فَجَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَعْطَيْتَ دِحْيَةَ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتَ حُيَيٍّ سَيِّدَةَ قُرَيْظَةَ وَالنَّضِيرِ مَا تَصْلُحُ إِلَّا لَكَ فَقَالَ ﷺ ادْعُوهُ بِهَا فَجَاءَ بِهَا فَلَمَّا نَظَرَ إِلَيْهَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ قَالَ خُذْ جَارِيَةً مِنَ السَّبْيِ غَيْرَهَا ثُمَّ إِنَّ نَبِيَّ اللهِ ﷺ أَعْتَقَهَا وَتَزَوَّجَهَا فَقَالَ لَهُ ثَابِتٌ يَا أَبَا حَمْزَةَ مَا أَصْدَقَهَا؟ قَالَ نَفْسَهَا أَعْتَقَهَا وَتَزَوَّجَهَا حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ بِالطَّرِيقِ جَهَّزَتْهَا أُمُّ سُلَيْمٍ فَأَهْدَتْهَا لَهُ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ وَأَصْبَحَ النَّبِيُّ عَرُوسًا فَقَالَ مَنْ كَانَ عِنْدَهُ شَيْءٌ فَلْيَجِئْ بِهِ وَبَسَطَ نِطَعًا فَجَعَلَ الرَّجُلُ يَجِيءُ بِالْأَقِطِ وَجَعَلَ الرَّجُلُ يَجِيءُ بِالتَّمْرِ وَجَعَلَ الرَّجُلُ يَجِيءُ بِالسَّمْنِ قَالَ وَأَحْسِبُهُ قَدْ ذَكَرَ السَّوِيقَ قَالَ فَحَاسُوا حَيْسًا فَكَانَتْ وَلِيمَةَرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ
