The Prophet ﷺ used to pray a short prayer (in congregation) but used to offer it in a perfect manner. (Using translation from Bukhārī 706)  

أحمد:١١٩٩٠حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يُوجِزُ الصَّلَاةَ وَيُكْمِلُهَا

ابن ماجة:٩٨٥حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ وَحُمَيْدُ بْنُ مَسْعَدَةَ قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ صُهَيْبٍ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُوجِزُ وَيُتِمُّ الصَّلاَةَ  

ahmad:13997Muḥammad b. Jaʿfar > Shuʿbah > ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz b.iṣuhayb > Anas b. Mālik

[Machine] I heard Anas ibn Malik say that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to allow it and complete it, meaning he would shorten the prayer.
