سِنُّ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ، وَوَفَاتُهُ ؓ
[Machine] The control of Sham (Damascus) was between two amirs: Abu Ubaydah ibn al-Jarrah and Yazid ibn Abi Sufyan. After Abu Ubaydah passed away, his uncle Ayyad ibn Ghannam, from the Banu Harith ibn Fihr tribe, was appointed as his successor by Umar. Then Ayyad passed away and Umar commanded Sa'id ibn 'Amir ibn Judham to take his place. After Sa'id ibn 'Amir passed away, Umar appointed 'Umayr ibn Sa'd as his successor.
