[Machine] When Fatima bint Asad, the mother of Ali ibn Abi Talib, died, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered upon her and sat next to her head. He said, "May Allah have mercy on you, O my mother. You were my mother after my own mother. You used to satisfy me, clothe me, and feed me, even while you denied yourself. You desired the Face of Allah and the Hereafter through these actions." Then he ordered her to be washed three times. When the water in which camphor was put reached him, the Messenger of Allah poured it with his own hand. Then the Messenger of Allah took off his shirt and dressed her with it, and covered her with a cloth. Then the Messenger of Allah called Usama bin Zaid, Abu Ayyub Al-Ansari, Umar bin Khattab, and a black slave-boy to dig her grave. When they reached the bottom, the Messenger of Allah dug it with his own hand and removed the dirt with his own hand. When he finished, the Messenger of Allah entered and lay down in it. Then he said, "It is Allah who gives life and causes death, and He is Alive and does not die. O Allah, forgive my mother Fatima bint Asad, teach her her saying (claim), and make her entrance wide through the right of Your Prophet and the prophets who came before me. Verily, You are the Most Merciful of those who show mercy." He then said Takbir four times over her and they entered her into the grave, him and Al-Abbas and Abu Bakr As-Siddiq.
