" That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: He who shows no mercy to the people, Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, does not show mercy to him." (Using translation from Muslim 2319a)   

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «مَنْ لَا يَرْحَمِ النَّاسَ لَا يَرْحَمُهُ اللهُ»  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ passed by some women and greeted them.  

«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ مَرَّ عَلَى نِسْوَةٍ فَسَلَّمَ عَلَيْهِنَّ»  

" That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: He who shows no mercy to the people, Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, does not show mercy to him." (Using translation from Muslim 2319a)   

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ لَا يَرْحَمِ النَّاسَ لَا يَرْحَمُهُ اللهُ»  

I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ says, "Show mercy to those on earth and the one in the sky will show Mercy to you."  

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ ﷺ يَقُولُ «ارْحَمْ مَنْ فِي الْأَرْضِ يَرْحَمْكَ مَنْ فِي السَّمَاءِ»  

[Machine] I only embraced Islam after the table spread was revealed, and I only saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wiping after I embraced Islam.  

«إِنَّمَا أَسْلَمْتُ بَعْدَمَا أُنْزِلَتِ الْمَائِدَةُ وَإِنَّمَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَمْسَحُ بَعْدَمَا أَسْلَمْتُ»  

" That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: He who shows no mercy to the people, Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, does not show mercy to him." (Using translation from Muslim 2319a)   

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ لَا يَرْحَمِ النَّاسَ لَا يَرْحَمُهُ اللهُ»  

[Machine] We witnessed the season during the pilgrimage with the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , and it was the Farewell Pilgrimage. We reached a place called Ghadir Khumm, and the call for prayer was made. The immigrants and the supporters gathered and the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , stood in our midst and said, "O people, what do you bear witness to?" They said, "We bear witness that there is no god but Allah." He said, "Then what else?" They said, "And that Muhammad is His servant and messenger." He said, "Then who is your guardian?" They said, "Allah and His Messenger are our guardians." He said, "Who is your guardian?" Then he struck Ali on his shoulder, and he stood him up, then he pulled his arm and said, "Whoever I am his guardian, then Ali is his guardian. O Allah, be a friend to the one who loves him and an enemy to the one who hates him." O Allah, I cannot find anyone on earth after the two righteous servants whom I entrust with this matter except for You, so decide in it with the best." Bashir said, "I asked, who are these two righteous servants?" He said, "I do not know."  

شَهِدْنَا الْمَوْسِمَ فِي حَجَّةٍ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَهِي حَجَّةُ الْوَدَاعِ فَبَلَغْنَا مَكَانًا يُقَالُ لَهُ غَدِيرُ خُمٍّ فَنَادَى الصَّلَاةُ جَامِعَةً فَاجْتَمَعْنَا الْمُهَاجِرُونَ وَالْأَنْصَارُ فَقَامَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَسْطَنَا فَقَالَ «أَيُّهَا النَّاسِ بِمَ تَشْهَدُونَ؟» قَالُوا نَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ قَالَ «ثُمَّ مَهْ؟» قَالُوا وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ قَالَ «فَمَنْ وَلِيُّكُمْ؟» قَالُوا اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ مَوْلَانَا قَالَ «مَنْ وَلِيُّكُمْ؟» ثُمَّ ضَرَبَ بِيَدِهِ عَلَى عَضُدِ عَلِيٍّ ؓ فَأَقَامَهُ فَنَزَعَ عَضُدَهُ فَأَخَذَ بِذِرَاعَيْهِ فَقَالَ «مَنْ يَكُنِ اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ مَوْلَيَاهُ فَإِنَّ هَذَا مَوْلَاهُ اللهُمَّ وَالِ مَنْ وَالَاهُ وَعَادِ مَنْ عَادَاهُ اللهُمَّ مَنْ أَحَبَّهُ مِنَ النَّاسِ فَكُنْ لَهُ حَبِيبًا وَمَنْ أَبْغَضَهُ فَكُنْ لَهُ مُبْغِضًا اللهُمَّ إِنِّي لَا أَجِدُ أَحَدًا أَسْتَوْدِعُهُ فِي الْأَرْضِ بَعْدَ الْعَبْدَيْنِ الصَّالِحَيْنِ غَيْرَكَ فَاقْضِ فِيهِ بِالْحُسْنَى» قَالَ بِشْرٌ قُلْتُ مَنْ هَذَيْنِ الْعَبْدَيْنِ الصَّالِحَيْنِ؟ قَالَ لَا أَدْرِي  

[Machine] "We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during the Farewell Pilgrimage. The Prophet ﷺ walked away and performed ablution, then he wiped over his socks."  

«كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ فَذَهَبَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَتَبَرَّزَ فَتَوَضَّأَ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ»  

[Machine] "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wiping over his socks." It was said to him after Surah Al-Ma'idah was revealed, and he said, "Did I not embrace Islam except after Surah Al-Ma'idah was revealed?"  

«رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَمْسَحُ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ» فَقِيلَ لَهُ بَعْدَ مَا أُنْزِلَتْ سُورَةُ الْمَائِدَةِ فَقَالَ «وَهَلْ أَسْلَمْتُ إِلَّا بَعْدَ مَا أُنْزِلَتْ سُورَةُ الْمَائِدَةِ»  

[Machine] "I gave my pledge of allegiance to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for Islam. He extended his hand to make a condition for me to sincerely advise every Muslim."  

«بَايَعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى الْإِسْلَامِ فَكَفَّ يَدَهُ لِيَشْتَرِطَ عَلَيَّ النُّصْحَ لِكُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ»  

[Machine] "Some people from the Uraynah tribe became jealous of the Prophet's ﷺ affection. So the Prophet ﷺ ordered that their hands and legs be cut off and their eyes be gouged."  

أَنَّ نَاسًا مِنْ عُرَيْنَةَ أَغَارُوا عَلَى لِقَاحِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ «فَأَمَرَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَنْ تُقَطَّعَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَأَرْجُلُهُمْ وَأَنْ تُسَمَّرَ أَعْيُنُهُمْ»  

[Machine] He used to examine the defects of a commodity when he put it up for sale and then gave the buyer the choice, saying, "If you wish, you can take it, and if you wish, you can leave it." He was asked, "May Allah have mercy on you, when you do this, the sale does not go through for you." He replied, "We made a contract with the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , to give sincere advice to the people of Islam."  

أَنَّهُ كَانَ إِذَا أَقَامَ سِلْعَةً بَصَّرَ عُيُوبَهَا ثُمَّ خَيَّرَهُ فَقَالَ إِنْ شِئْتَ فَخُذْ وَإِنْ شِئْتَ فَاتْرُكْ فَقِيلَ لَهُ يَرْحَمُكَ اللهُ إِنَّكَ إِذَا فَعَلْتَ هَذَا لَمْ يَنْفُذْ لَكَ الْبَيْعُ فَقَالَ «إِنَّا بَايَعْنَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى النُّصْحِ لِأَهْلِ الْإِسْلَامِ»  

I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wiping over his leather slippers (when doing wudoo’). (Using translation from Aḥmad 216)   

«رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ تَوَضَّأَ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ»  

[Machine] Seek forgiveness for him, Allah will forgive you, as he used to love forgiveness. Then he said, after that, I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to pledge allegiance to him upon Islam, so he said, "And sincerity is for every Muslim."  

اسْتَغْفِرُوا لَهُ عَفَا اللهُ عَنْكُمْ فَإِنَّهُ كَانَ يُحِبُّ الْعَافِيَةَ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَمَّا بَعْدُ فَإِنِّي أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ لِأُبَايِعَهُ عَلَى الْإِسْلَامِ فَقَالَ «وَالنُّصْحَ لِكُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ»  

[Machine] "We pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to hear and obey and give sincere advice to every Muslim, so I pledged allegiance to him for Islam and sincere advice for every Muslim."  

«بَايَعَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى السَّمْعِ وَالطَّاعَةِ وَالنَّصِيحَةِ لِكُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ فَبَايَعْتُهُ عَلَى الْإِسْلَامِ وَالنُّصْحِ لِكُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ»  

"I pledged to the Messenger of Allah to be sincere toward ever Muslim." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4156)   

«بَايَعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى السَّمْعِ وَالطَّاعَةِ وَالنَّصِيحَةِ لِكُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ»  

The Prophet ﷺ said, "He who is not merciful to others, will not be treated mercifully. (Using translation from Bukhārī 6013)  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ لَا يَرْحَمْ لَا يُرْحَمْ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever does not show mercy will not be shown mercy, and whoever does not forgive will not be forgiven."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ لَا يَرْحَمْ لَا يُرْحَمْ وَمَنْ لَا يَغْفِرْ لَا يُغْفَرْ لَهُ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever does not show mercy, will not be shown mercy. Whoever does not forgive, will not be forgiven. And whoever does not repent, will not be repented upon."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ لَا يَرْحَمْ لَا يُرْحَمْ وَمَنْ لَا يَغْفِرْ لَا يُغْفَرْ لَهُ وَمَنْ لَا يَتُبْ لَا يَتُبْ عَلَيْهِ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever does not show mercy will not be shown mercy, and whoever does not repent will not be forgiven."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ لَا يَرْحَمْ لَا يُرْحَمْ وَمَنْ لَا يَتُبْ لَا يُتَبْ عَلَيْهِ»  

[Machine] I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "Allah does not forgive those who do not forgive, and Allah does not have mercy on those who do not have mercy."  

سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَا يَغْفِرُ اللهُ لِمَنْ لَا يَغْفِرُ وَلَا يَرْحَمُ اللهُ مَنْ لَا يَرْحَمُ»  

[Machine] Abu Sa'id, the servant of Banu Hashim, narrated to us and Ahmad bin Amr al-Bazzar narrated to us and Bishr bin Adam narrated to us and Ya'qub bin Ishaq al-Hadrami said they both narrated to us and Zaidah narrated to me from Ziyad bin Ilaqa from Jarir who said, "A scholar told me in Yemen that if your companion was a prophet, then he has died." He said, "So the Prophet ﷺ died on Monday."  

ثنا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْبَزَّارُ حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ آدَمَ ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ قَالَا ثنا زَائِدَةُ عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ عِلَاقَةَ عَنْ جَرِيرٍ قَالَ قَالَ لِي حَبْرٌ بِالْيَمَنِ إِنْ كَانَ صَاحِبُكُمْ نَبِيًّا فَقَدْ مَاتَ قَالَ «فَمَاتَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَوْمَ الِاثْنَيْنِ»  

[Machine] I heard Jarir ibn Abdullah say, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ never saw me except with a smile."  

سَمِعْتُ جَرِيرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ يَقُولُ «مَا رَآنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَّا تَبَسَّمَ»  

The slave who fled from his master, responsibility with regard to him was absolved. (Using translation from Muslim 69)  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «أَيُّمَا عَبْدٌ أَبَقَ فَقَدْ بَرِئَتْ مِنْهُ الذِّمَّةُ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If a slave is released, he is free from the obligation of Allah." However, he did not mention Al-Mughirah bin Shu'bah.  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِذَا أَبَقَ الْعَبْدُ فَقَدْ بَرِئَتْ مِنْهُ ذِمَّةُ اللهِ» وَلَمْ يَذْكُرِ الْمُغِيرَةَ بْنَ شُبَيْلٍ  

[Machine] When I approached the city, I dismounted my riding animal, then I beautified myself and put on my best clothes. I entered upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was giving a sermon, so I greeted the Prophet ﷺ . The people stared at me, so I said to my companion, "O Abdullah, did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ mention anything about me?" He replied, "Yes, he mentioned you in the best way possible, while he was delivering his sermon. He said, 'Indeed, he will enter upon you from this valley or from this door, as a person of great goodness, and he has the mark of an angel on his face.'" I said, "So I praised Allah for what He made known to me."  

أَنْ دَنَوْتُ مِنَ الْمَدِينَةِ أَنَخْتُ رَاحِلَتِي ثُمَّ حَلَلْتُ عَيْبَتِي فَلَبِسْتُ حُلَّتِي فَدَخَلْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَرَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَخْطُبُ فَسَلَّمْتُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَرَمَانِي النَّاسُ بِالْحَدَقِ فَقُلْتُ لِجَلِيسِي يَا عَبْدَ اللهِ هَلْ ذَكَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مِنْ أَمْرِي شَيْئًا؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ ذَكَرَكَ بِأَحْسَنِ الذِّكْرِ بَيْنَمَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَخْطُبُ إِذْ عَرَضَ لَهُ فِي خُطْبَتِهِ فَقَالَ «إِنَّهُ سَيَدْخُلُ عَلَيْكُمْ مِنْ هَذَا الْفَجِّ أَوْ مِنْ هَذَا الْبَابِ مِنْ خَيْرِ ذِي يُمْنٍ أَلَا وَإِنَّ عَلَى وَجْهِهِ مَسْحَةَ مَلَكٍ» قَالَ «فَحَمِدْتُ اللهَ عَلَى مَا أَبْلَانِي»  

[Machine] "I came to the Prophet to pledge my loyalty to Islam, so he took my hand and advised every Muslim."  

«أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أُبَايِعُهُ عَلَى الْإِسْلَامِ فَقَبَضَ يَدَهُ وَالنُّصْحَ لِكُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ»  

The Prophet ﷺ said, "He who is not merciful to others, will not be treated mercifully. (Using translation from Bukhārī 6013)  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ لَا يَرْحَمْ لَا يُرْحَمْ»

[Machine] I performed ablution for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he wiped over his socks after the revelation of Surah Al-Ma'idah.  

«وَضَّأْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَمَسَحَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ بَعْدَمَا أُنْزِلَتْ سُورَةُ الْمَائِدَةِ»  

The Prophet ﷺ said, "He who is not merciful to others, will not be treated mercifully. (Using translation from Bukhārī 6013)  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ لَا يَرْحَمْ لَا يُرْحَمْ»

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ لَا يَرْحَمِ النَّاسَ لَا يَرْحَمُهُ اللهُ»  

" That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: He who shows no mercy to the people, Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, does not show mercy to him." (Using translation from Muslim 2319a)  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ لَا يَرْحَمِ النَّاسَ لَا يَرْحَمُهُ اللهُ»  

[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet, ﷺ , he said, "Whoever does not show mercy to people, Allah will not show mercy to him."  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ لَا يَرْحَمِ النَّاسَ لَا يَرْحَمُهُ اللهُ»  

"Whoever does not show mercy to the people, Allah will not show mercy to him." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 1922)  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ لَا يَرْحَمِ النَّاسَ لَا يَرْحَمُهُ اللهُ»  

[Machine] And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, Allah has written in the Book of Decrees before He created the heavens and the earth, 'Verily, I am the Most Merciful, the Compassionate. I have created the Rahim (womb) and have derived its name from My name. So whoever keeps good relations with it (the family) I shall keep good relations with him, and whoever severs it (family ties), I shall sever ties with him."  

وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ اللهَ كَتَبَ فِي أُمِّ الْكِتَابِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَخْلُقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ إِنِّي أَنَا الرَّحْمَنُ الرَّحِيمُ خَلَقْتُ الرَّحِمَ وَشَقَقْتُ لَهَا اسْمًا مِنْ أَسْمَائِي فَمَنْ وَصَلَهَا وَصَلْتُهُ وَمَنْ قَطَعَهَا قَطَعْتُهُ  

the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever does not show Mercy to those on earth, the one in the sky will not show Mercy to him."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ لَا يَرْحَمْ مَنْ فِي الْأَرْضِ لَا يَرْحَمُهُ مَنْ فِي السَّمَاءِ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was giving a sermon to the people one day and he said, "You have received a blessing from the best of those who possess blessings, a trace of a king on his face," meaning me.  

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَخْطُبُ فِي النَّاسِ يَوْمًا فَقَالَ «قَدْ جَاءَكُمْ مِنْ خَيْرِ ذِي يُمْنٍ مَنْ عَلَى وَجْهِهِ مَسْحَةُ مَلَكٍ» يَعْنِينِي  

"Fasting three days of each month is fasting for a lifetime, and the shining days of Al-Bid, the thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2420)  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «صِيَامُ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ صِيَامُ الدَّهْرِ أَيَّامُ الْبِيضِ ثَلَاثَ عَشْرَةَ وَأَرْبَعَ عَشْرَةَ وَخَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever does not thank people, does not thank Allah."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ لَمْ يَشْكُرِ النَّاسَ لَمْ يَشْكُرِ اللهَ»  

[Machine] I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ after the descent of the table [of food], and I saw him wiping over his socks.  

«قَدِمْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ بَعْدَ نُزُولِ الْمَائِدَةِ فَرَأَيْتُهُ يَمْسَحُ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ»  

[Machine] I heard my grandfather, Aba Qirsafa, the companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , saying, "The beginning of my Islam was when I was an orphan between my mother and my aunt. I was more inclined towards my aunt, and I used to graze my sheep. My aunt used to advise me, saying, 'My son, do not go to this man,' referring to the Prophet ﷺ , 'so that he does not misguide you.' So, I would leave the sheep and go to the pasture, then I would go to the Prophet ﷺ and stay with him to listen to what he had to say. Then, I would return to my sheep, dry and exhausted. My aunt asked me, 'Why are your sheep dry and exhausted?' I replied, 'I don't know.' I went to him again the next day, and he did the same as he did on the first day, except this time I heard him say, 'O people, migrate and hold fast to Islam, for migration will not cease as long as there is jihad.' Then, I returned to my sheep as I did on the first day. I went to him again on the third day and I continued to stay with the Prophet ﷺ until I embraced Islam, pledged allegiance to him, shook hands with him, and complained to him about my aunt and my sheep. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me, 'Bring the sheep to me.' So, I brought them, and he wiped his hands over their backs and chests and invoked blessings upon them. They became full of fat and milk. When I entered upon my aunt with them, she said, 'My son, graze them like this.' I said, 'Aunt, I have only been grazing them where I used to graze them every day, but let me tell you my story.' So, I informed her of the story of my encounter with the Prophet ﷺ and told her about his character and his words. My mother and my aunt said to me, 'Go with us to him.' So, I went with my mother and my aunt, embraced Islam, pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and we did not shake hands. This is the story of the Islam of my father Qirsafa and his migration to the Prophet ﷺ ." Ziyad said, "Abu Qirsafa used to reside in the land of Tihama."  

سَمِعْتُ جَدِّي أَبَا قِرْصَافَةَ صَاحِبَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ كَانَ بَدْءُ إِسْلَامِي أَنِّي كُنْتُ يَتِيمًا بَيْنَ أُمِّي وَخَالَتِي فَكَانَ أَكْثَرُ مَيْلِي إِلَى خَالَتِي وَكُنْتُ أَرْعَى شُوَيْهَاتٍ لِي وَكَانَتْ خَالَتِي كَثِيرًا مِمَّا تَقُولُ لِي يَا بُنَيَّ لَا تَمُرَّ إِلَى هَذَا الرَّجُلِ تَعْنِي النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَيُغْوِيَكَ ويُضِلَّكَ فَكُنْتُ أَخْرُجُ حَتَّى آتِيَ الْمَرْعَى فَأَتْرُكَ شُوَيْهَاتِي ثُمَّ آتِيَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَلَا أَزَالُ عِنْدَهُ أَسْمَعُ مِنْهُ ثُمَّ أَرُوحُ بِغَنَمِي ضُمَّرًا يَابِسَاتِ الضُّرُوعِ وَقَالَتْ لِي خَالَتِي مَا لِغَنَمِكَ يَابِسَاتِ الضُّرُوعِ؟ قُلْتُ مَا أَدْرِي ثُمَّ عُدْتُ إِلَيْهِ الْيَوْمَ الثَّانِيَ فَفَعَلَ كَمَا فَعَلَ الْيَوْمَ الْأَوَّلَ غَيْرَ أَنِّي سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ «أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ هَاجِرُوا وَتَمَسَّكُوا بِالْإِسْلَامِ فَإِنَّ الْهِجْرَةَ لَا تَنْقَطِعُ مَا دَامَ الْجِهَادُ» ثُمَّ إِنِّي رَجَعْتُ بِغَنَمي كَمَا رَجَعْتُ الْيَوْمَ الْأَوَّلَ ثُمَّ عُدْتُ إِلَيْهِ فِي الْيَوْمِ الثَّالِثِ فَلَمْ أَزَلْ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَسْمَعُ مِنْهُ حَتَّى أَسْلَمْتُ وَبَايَعْتُهُ وصافَحْتُهُ بِيَدِي وشَكَوْتُ إِلَيْهِ أَمْرَ خَالَتِي وَأَمْرَ غَنَمِي فَقَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «جِئْني بِالشِّياهِ» فَجِئْتُهُ بِهِنَّ فَمَسَحَ ظُهُورَهُنَّ وضُرُوعَهُنَّ وَدَعَا فِيهِنَّ بِالْبَرَكَةِ فَامْتَلَأَتْ شَحْمًا وَلَبَنًا فَلَمَّا دَخَلْتُ عَلَى خَالَتِي بِهِنَّ قَالَتْ يَا بُنَيَّ هَكَذَا فَارْعَ قُلْتُ يَا خَالَةُ مَا رَعَيْتُ إِلَّا حَيْثُ كُنْتُ أَرْعَى كُلَّ يَوْمٍ وَلَكِنْ أُخْبِرُكِ بِقِصَّتي فَأَخْبَرْتُهَا بِالْقِصَّةِ وَإِتْيانِي النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَأَخْبَرْتُهَا بِسِيرَتِهِ وَبِكَلَامِهِ فَقَالَتْ لِي أُمِّي وَخَالَتِي اذْهَبْ بِنَا إِلَيْهِ فَذَهَبْتُ أَنَا وَأُمِّي وَخَالَتِي فَأَسْلَمْنَ وبايَعْنَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَمَا صَافَحْنَ فَهَذَا مَا كَانَ مِنْ إِسْلَامِ أَبِي قِرْصَافَةَ وَهِجْرَتِهِ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ زِيَادٌ «وَكَانَ أَبُو قِرْصَافَةَ يَسْكُنُ أَرْضَ تِهَامَةَ»  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said to me, "Do you have a brother?" I said, "Yes." He said, "Bring him to me." So I brought my younger brother with me. When we approached the Prophet ﷺ, he ran away. I caught him and held onto his hands and legs tightly. Then I brought him to the Prophet ﷺ and he pledged allegiance to him. The Prophet ﷺ asked me, "What is his name, O Abu Qirsafa?" I said, "His name is Maysam." The Prophet ﷺ said, "No, his name is Muslim." So I said, "Muslim is with you, O Messenger of Allah."  

لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «هَلْ لَكَ عَقِبٌ؟» قُلْتُ لِي أَخٌ قَالَ «فَجِئْ بِهِ» فَرَفَقْتُ بِأَخِي وَكَانَ غُلَامًا صَغِيرًا حَتَّى جَاءَ مَعِي فَلَمَّا دَنَا مِنَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ هَرَبَ فَأَخَذْتُهُ فَضَمَمْتُ يَدَيْهِ وَرِجْلَيْهِ ثُمَّ جِئْتُ بِهِ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَبَايَعَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَكَانَ اسْمُهُ مِيسَمًا فَقَالَ لِي النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «مَا اسْمُهُ يَا أَبَا قِرْصَافَةَ؟» قُلْتُ اسْمُهُ مِيسَمٌ قَالَ «بَلِ اسْمُهُ مُسْلِمٌ» فَقُلْتُ مُسْلِمٌ مَعَكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ  

from his paternal uncle, that he saw the Prophet ﷺ reclining in the Masjid, and placing one of his feet atop another. (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2765)   

أَنَّهُ «رَأَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ مُسْتَلْقِيًا عَلَى قَفَاهُ وَاضِعًا إِحْدَى رِجْلَيْهِ عَلَى الْأُخْرَى»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Narrate about me what you hear and let not a man lie against me. Whoever lies against me intentionally, let him prepare his place in Hell."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ حَدِّثُوا عَنِّي بِمَا تَسْمَعُونَ وَلَا يَحِلُّ لِرَجُلٍ أَنْ يَكْذِبَ عَلَيَّ فَمَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَيَّ وَقَالَ عَلَيَّ غَيْرَ مَا قُلْتُ بُنِيَ لَهُ بَيْتٌ فِي جَهَنَّمَ يَرْتَعُ فِيهِ  

Go to your people and say that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ says: Ghifar (is a tribe) to whom Allah granted pardon, and Aslam (is the tribe) to whom Allah granted safety. (Using translation from Muslim 2514a)  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «غِفَارُ غَفَرَ اللهُ لَهَا وَأَسْلَمُ سَالَمَهَا اللهُ»  

[Machine] I heard Abu Qirsafa saying, "When we pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, my mother, my aunt, and I returned from him praising him, and she said to me, 'O my son, we have never seen anyone more handsome than him, with a more clean garment, or with softer speech, and it was as if light was radiating from his face.'"  

سَمِعْتُ أَبَا قِرْصَافَةَ يَقُولُ لَمَّا بَايَعْنَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَا وَأُمِّي وَخَالَتِي وَرَجَعْنَا مِنْ عِنْدِهِ مُنْصَرِفِينَ قَالَتْ لِي أُمِّي وَخَالَتِي «يَا بُنَيَّ مَا رَأَيْنَا مِثْلَ هَذَا الرَّجُلِ أَحْسَنَ مِنْهُ وَجْهًا وَلَا أَنْقَى ثَوْبًا وَلَا أَلْيَنَ كَلَامًا وَرَأَيْنَا كَأَنَّ النُّورَ يَخْرُجُ مِنْ فِيهِ»  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever loves a people will be resurrected with them."  

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «مَنْ أَحَبَّ قَوْمًا حَشَرَهُ اللهُ فِي زُمْرَتِهِمْ»  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ dressed me in a cloak and said, "Wear it."  

كَسَانِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بُرْنُسًا وَقَالَ «الْبَسْهُ»  

[Machine] He heard the Prophet ﷺ say, "Build mosques and remove the garbage from them. Whoever builds a mosque for the sake of Allah, Allah will build a house for him in Paradise." A man said, "O Messenger of Allah, what about these mosques built on the road?" He said, "Yes, and removing the garbage from them purifies the eyes of the houris."  

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ «ابْنُوا الْمَسَاجِدَ وَأَخْرِجُوا الْقُمَامَةَ مِنْهَا فَمَنْ بَنَى لِلَّهِ مَسْجِدًا بَنَى اللهُ لَهُ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ» قَالَ رَجُلٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَهَذِهِ الْمَسَاجِدُ الَّتِي تُبْنَى فِي الطَّرِيقِ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ وَإِخْرَاجُ الْقُمَامَةِ مِنْهَا مُهُورُ حُورِ الْعِينِ
