٣۔ بَابُ الْبَاءِ ص ٢
نُعَيْمُ بْنُ هَمَّارٍ الْغَطَفَانِيُّ، عَنْ بِلَالٍ ؓ
"The Prophet wiped over the Khuff and the Khimar." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 101)
«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ مَسَحَ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ وَالْخِمَارِ»
سَعْدٌ الْقَرَظُ، عَنْ بِلَالٍ ؓ
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Indeed, the best deed of a believer is jihad for the sake of Allah."
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِنَّ أَفْضَلَ عَمَلِ الْمُؤْمِنِ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ»
سَعِيدُ بْنُ الْمُسَيِّبِ، عَنْ بِلَالٍ
[Machine] "We were with the Prophet ﷺ on a journey, and we slept until the sun rose. Then he ordered Bilal to give the call to prayer and they performed the two units of the Fajr prayer, and then they performed the morning prayer."
«كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي سَفَرٍ فَنَامُوا حَتَّى طَلَعَتِ الشَّمْسُ فَأَمَرَ بِلَالًا فَأَذَّنَ ثُمَّ صَلُّوا رَكْعَتَيِ الْفَجْرِ ثُمَّ صَلُّوا الْغَدَاةَ»
قَبِيصَةُ بْنُ ذُؤَيْبٍ الْخُزَاعِيُّ، عَنْ بِلَالٍ
[Machine] He said, "O Messenger of Allah, people engage in business and pursue their livelihoods, but we are unable to do so." He said, "Don't you want the muadhin (caller to prayer) to have the longest necks on the Day of Resurrection?"
أَنَّهُ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ النَّاسَ يَتَّجِرُونَ وَيَتَّبِعُونُ مَعَايِشَهُمْ وَلَا نَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ نَفْعَلَ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ «أَلَا تَرْضَى أَنَّ الْمُؤَذِّنِينَ أَطْوَلُ النَّاسِ أَعْنَاقًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ»
عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي لَيْلَى، عَنْ بِلَالٍ
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Verily, the sun and the moon are two signs among the signs of Allah. So when you see that, haste to perform the prayer."
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللهِ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمْ ذَلِكَ فَافْزَعُوا إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ»
سُوَيْدُ بْنُ غَفَلَةَ، عَنْ بِلَالٍ
The Messenger of Allah wiped over his leather socks and his head cover (i.e., over the Imamah). (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 561)
«مَسَحَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ وَالْخِمَارِ»
أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ بِلَالٍ
[Machine] I was informed by a sheikh from the tribe of Taym, who is known as Abu Abdullah, that Abu Abdul Rahman said: I was with Abdul Rahman ibn Auf, and Bilal passed by us. They asked him about the ablution of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said, "He would fulfill his needs, then he would come and perform ablution, and he would wipe over his face veil and leather socks."
حَدَّثَنِي شَيْخٌ مِنْ بَنِي تَيْمٍ يُكَنَّى أَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ كُنْتُ مَعَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ فَمَرَّ بِلَالٌ فَسَأَلُوهُ عَنْ وُضُوءِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «كَانَ يَقْضِي الْحَاجَةَ فَيَجِيءُ فَيَتَوَضَّأُ وَيَمْسَحُ عَلَى الْخِمَارِ وَالْمُوقَيْنِ»
أَبُو إِدْرِيسَ، عَنْ بِلَالٍ
The Messenger of Allah wiped over his leather socks and his head cover (i.e., over the Imamah). (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 561)
«كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَمْسَحُ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ وَالْخِمَارِ»
3.1.12 Subsection
٣۔١۔١٢ جَابِرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ بِلَالٍ مْ
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "O Bilal, start the morning with the Fajr prayer, as it is better for you."
قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «يَا بِلَالُ أَصْبِحُوا بِالصُّبْحِ فَإِنَّهُ خَيْرٌ لَكُمْ»
[Machine] He informed him that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Wipe over the socks and over the headscarf."
أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «امْسَحُوا عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ وَعَلَى الْخِمَارِ»
3.1.14 Subsection
٣۔١۔١٤ طَارِقُ بْنُ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ بِلَالٍ
[Machine] Regarding prayer, it is prohibited at certain times except for the time when the sun rises. Indeed, it rises between the horns of a devil or on the horns of a devil.
عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ فِي حِينٍ إِلَّا حِينَ تَطْلُعُ الشَّمْسُ فَإِنَّهَا تَطْلُعُ بَيْنَ قَرْنَيْ شَيْطَانٍ أَوْ عَلَى قَرْنَيْ شَيْطَانٍ »
[Machine] "He used to announce the call to prayer in the morning and say: 'Life is best towards good deeds.' Then the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , commanded that it be replaced with 'Prayer is better than sleep,' and he left off 'Life is best towards good deeds.'"
أَنَّهُ كَانَ يُؤَذِّنُ بِالصُّبْحِ فَيَقُولُ حَيَّ عَلَى خَيْرِ الْعَمَلِ فَأَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ يَجْعَلَ مَكَانَهَا «الصَّلَاةُ خَيْرٌ مِنَ النَّوْمِ» وَتَرَكَ حَيَّ عَلَى خَيْرِ الْعَمَلِ
[Machine] The Prophet of Allah ﷺ said, "When you give the call to prayer (Adhan), put your finger in your ears, as it is the most elevated position for your voice."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «إِذَا أَذَّنْتَ فَاجْعَلْ إِصْبَعَكَ فِي أُذُنَيْكَ فَإِنَّهُ أَرْفَعُ لِصَوْتِكَ»
[Machine] "He used to give the call to prayer for the Prophet ﷺ, and he would say: 'Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Ashhadu an la ilaha illallah, Ashhadu an la ilaha illallah.' Then he would turn to the right and say: 'Ashhadu anna Muhammadan Rasulullah, Ashhadu anna Muhammadan Rasulullah.' Then he would turn and face the direction of prayer and say: 'Hayya 'ala as-Salah, Hayya 'ala al-Falah.' Then he would turn to the left and say: 'Hayya 'ala al-Falah, Hayya 'ala al-Falah.' Then he would face the direction of prayer and say: 'Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, La ilaha illallah.' And he used to recite the call to prayer for the Prophet ﷺ, and he would single out the Iqamah, saying: 'Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Ashhadu an la ilaha illallah, Ashhadu anna Muhammadan Rasulullah, Hayya 'ala as-Salah, Hayya 'ala al-Falah. Qad qamatis-salah, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, La ilaha illallah.'"
أَنَّهُ كَانَ يُؤَذِّنُ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَكَانَ يُؤَذِّنُ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ ثُمَّ يَنْحَرِفُ عَنْ يَمِينِ الْقِبْلَةِ فَيَقُولُ أَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللهِ أَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللهِ ثُمَّ يَنْحَرِفُ فَيَسْتَقْبِلُ خَلْفَ الْقِبْلَةِ فَيَقُولُ حَيَّ عَلَى الصَّلَاةِ حَيَّ عَلَى الصَّلَاةِ ثُمَّ يَنْحَرِفُ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ فَيَقُولُ حَيَّ عَلَى الْفَلَاحِ حَيَّ عَلَى الْفَلَاحِ ثُمَّ يَسْتَقْبِلُ الْقِبْلَةَ فَيَقُولُ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَكَانَ يُقِيمُ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَيُفْرِدُ الْإِقَامَةَ فَيَقُولُ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللهِ حَيَّ عَلَى الصَّلَاةِ حَيَّ عَلَى الْفَلَاحِ قَدْ قَامَتِ الصَّلَاةُ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ
"The final words of the Adhan of Bilal were: 'Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar; La ilaha illallah (Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest, there is none worthy of worship except Allah.)'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 650)
كَانَ آخِرُ أَذَانِ بِلَالٍ «لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَاللهُ أَكْبَرُ»
[Machine] "He used to give the call to prayer for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on Fridays when the shadow was equal to the length of a short palm stem, when the Prophet ﷺ sat on the pulpit."
«أَنَّهُ كَانَ يُؤَذِّنُ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ إِذَا كَانَ الْفَيْءُ قَدْرَ الشِّرَاكِ إِذَا قَعَدَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ»
3.1.16 Subsection
٣۔١۔١٦ غُضَيْفُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ بِلَالٍ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, Allah has placed truth on the tongue and in the heart of Umar."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ جَعَلَ الْحَقَّ عَلَى لِسَانِ عُمَرَ وَقَلْبِهِ»
[Machine] Bilal came to the Prophet ﷺ to call him for prayer once, but it was said that he was asleep. So, he called out, "Prayer is better than sleep!" and it was affirmed for the Fajr prayer.
أَنَّ بِلَالًا أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يُؤْذِنُهُ بِالصَّلَاةِ مَرَّةً فَقِيلَ إِنَّهُ نَائِمٌ فَنَادَى «الصَّلَاةُ خَيْرٌ مِنَ النَّوْمِ» فَأُقِرَّتْ فِي صَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ
3.1.19 Subsection
٣۔١۔١٩ حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ الْقَرَظِ، عَنْ بِلَالٍ
[Machine] "He (Bilal) came to the Prophet ﷺ to call him for Fajr prayer and he found him sleeping. Bilal said, 'Prayer is better than sleep, twice.' The Prophet ﷺ said, 'How beautiful is this, O Bilal, include it in your Adhan.'"
أَنَّهُ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يُؤْذِنُهُ بِالصُّبْحِ فَوَجَدَهُ رَاقِدًا فَقَالَ الصَّلَاةُ خَيْرٌ مِنَ النَّوْمِ مَرَّتَيْنِ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «مَا أَحْسَنَ هَذَا يَا بِلَالُ اجْعَلْهُ فِي أَذَانِكَ»
[Machine] "I came to the Messenger of Allah and sought his permission for prayer while he intended fasting. So he drank and then handed over to me, and I drank. Afterwards, he went out for prayer and led us in prayer."
«أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أُوذِنُهُ بِالصَّلَاةِ وَهُوَ يُرِيدُ الصِّيَامَ فَشَرِبَ ثُمَّ نَاوَلَنِي فَشَرِبْتُ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ فَصَلَّى بِنَا»
3.1.20 Subsection
٣۔١۔٢٠ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مَعْقِلِ بْنِ مُقَرِّنٍ الْمُزَنِيُّ، عَنْ بِلَالٍ
[Machine] "I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to seek his permission for prayer while he intended to fast. He called for a cup, drank from it, and then handed it to me for me to drink. After that, he went out for prayer."
«أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أُوذِنُهُ بِالصَّلَاةِ وَهُوَ يُرِيدُ الصِّيَامَ فَدَعَا بِإِنَاءٍ فَشَرِبَ ثُمَّ نَاوَلَنِي فَشَرِبْتُ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ»
[Machine] Narrated by Bilal, he said: I raised it (a container) up to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He raised his eyes towards the sky and said, "Glory be to Allah, the One who sends poverty upon them like drops of rain."
عَنْ بِلَالٍ يَرْفَعُهُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ رَفَعَ بَصَرَهُ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ فَقَالَ «سُبْحَانَ اللهِ الَّذِي يُرْسِلُ عَلَيْهِمُ الْفَقْرَ إِرْسَالَ الْقَطْرِ»
3.1.21 Subsection
٣۔١۔٢١ قَيْسُ بْنُ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ بِلَالٍ
[Machine] He saw a man who was performing prayer poorly, not completing the bowing or prostrating properly. So he said, "If I were to die now, I would die on a religion other than the religion of Jesus ﷺ ."
أَنَّهُ رَأَى رَجُلًا يُسِيءُ الصَّلَاةَ لَا يُتِمُّ رُكُوعَهَا وَلَا سُجُودَهَا فَقَالَ «لَوْ مُتَّ الْآنَ لَمُتَّ عَلَى غَيْرِ مِلَّةِ عِيسَى عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ»

«كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَمْسَحُ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ وَعَلَى الْخِمَارِ»
[Machine] "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ performing ablution (wudu) and wiping over his mawqayn (leather socks) and khimar (headscarf)."
«رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ تَوَضَّأَ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى الْمُوقَيْنِ وَالْخِمَارِ»
[Machine] "That the Prophet ﷺ performed ablution and wiped over his socks and turban."
«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ تَوَضَّأَ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ وَالْعِمَامَةِ»
"I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wiping over the Khimar and Khuff." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 106)
«رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَمْسَحُ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ وَعَلَى الْخِمَارِ»
"The Prophet wiped over the Khuff and the Khimar." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 101)
«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ مَسَحَ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ وَالْخِمَارِ»
"I saw the Prophet ﷺ wiping over the Khuff and the Khimar." [1] A head covering not limited to the common usage of "turban" as is clear from the first narration. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 104)
«رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَمْسَحُ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ»
"The Messenger of Allah commanded me (with Tathwib) in the Adhan for Fajr, and he forbade me to do so in the Adhan for 'Isha'." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 715)
«أَمَرَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ أُثَوِّبَ فِي الْفَجْرِ وَنَهَانِي أَنْ أُثَوِّبَ فِي الْعِشَاءِ»
"The Messenger of Allah commanded me (with Tathwib) in the Adhan for Fajr, and he forbade me to do so in the Adhan for 'Isha'." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 715)
«أَمَرَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ أُثَوِّبَ فِي الْفَجْرِ وَنَهَانِي أَنْ أُثَوِّبَ فِي الْعِشَاءِ»

٣۔١۔٢٤ شُرَيْحُ بْنُ هَانِئٍ، عَنْ بِلَالٍ
The Messenger of Allah wiped over his leather socks and his head cover (i.e., over the Imamah). (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 561)
«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ مَسَحَ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ وَالْخِمَارِ»
[Machine] I had a bundle of dates for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and I found something better than it—two saa' (measurements) for the price of one—so I bought it. I brought it to the Prophet ﷺ and he said, "What is this?" I said, "I got two saa' for the price of one." He said, "Return to us our dates."
كَانَ عِنْدِي تَمْرٌ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَوَجَدْتُ مَا هُوَ خَيْرٌ مِنْهُ صَاعًا بِصَاعَيْنِ فَاشْتَرَيْتُهُ وَأَتَيْتُ بِهِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ «مَا هَذَا؟» فَقُلْتُ أَخَذْتُ صَاعًا بِصَاعَيْنِ فَقَالَ «رُدَّ عَلَيْنَا تَمْرَنَا»
3.1.25 Subsection
٣۔١۔٢٥ مَسْرُوقُ بْنُ الْأَجْدَعِ، عَنْ بِلَالٍ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Give us some dates, O Bilal." So, I handed him a handful of dates, and he said, "Give us more, O Bilal." So, I gave him three more, and I said, "Nothing is left except what I have saved for the Prophet ﷺ ." He said, "Spend it, O Bilal, and do not fear that the Owner of the Throne will diminish it."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَطْعِمْنَا يَا بِلَالُ تَمْرًا» فَقَبَضْتُ لَهُ قَبَضَاتٍ فَقَالَ «زِدْنَا يَا بِلَالُ» فَزِدْتُهُ ثَلَاثًا فَقُلْتُ لَمْ يَبْقَ شَيْءٌ إِلَّا شَيْءٌ ادَّخَرْتُهُ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ «أَنْفِقْ يَا بِلَالُ وَلَا تَخْشَ مِنْ ذِي الْعَرْشِ إِقْلَالًا»
[Machine] He heard Abdur Rahman ibn Awf asking Bilal, "How did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wipe over his socks?" Bilal replied, "He performed ablution, then called for a clean pot with water, washed his face and hands, and then wiped over his socks and the turban he used for the head covering."
أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ عَوْفٍ سَأَلَ بِلَالًا كَيْفَ مَسَحَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ؟ فَقَالَ «تَبَرَّزَ ثُمَّ دَعَا بِمِطْهَرَةٍ بِإِدَاوَةٍ فَغَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ وَيَدَيْهِ ثُمَّ مَسَحَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ وَعَلَى خِمَارِهِ لِلْعِمَامَةِ»

٣۔١۔٢٧ الصُّنَابِحِيُّ، عَنْ بِلَالٍ
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "The Night of Al-Qadr is on the twenty-fourth night."
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ لَيْلَةُ أَرْبَعٍ وَعِشْرِينَ»
[Machine] "Wipe over the turbans and shoes." He raised it to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ .
«امْسَحُوا عَلَى الْخُمُرِ وَالْمُوقِ» رَفَعَهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , say, "Wipe over the khimar and the mawq."
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «امْسَحُوا عَلَى الْخُمُرِ وَالْمُوقِ»
The Messenger of Allah wiped over his leather socks and his head cover (i.e., over the Imamah). (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 561)
«كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَمْسَحُ عَلَى الْمُوقَيْنِ وَالْخِمَارِ»
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , saying, "Wipe over the two socks and the shoes."
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «امْسَحُوا عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ وَالْمُوقِ»
The Messenger of Allah wiped over his leather socks and his head cover (i.e., over the Imamah). (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 561)
«كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَمْسَحُ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ وَالْخِمَارِ»
[Machine] He and a man from the Quraysh tribe were performing ablution from the water of the mosque. They disputed about wiping over the socks, so Bilal said, "The Prophet ﷺ used to wipe over the top parts of his socks and his headscarf."
كَانَ هُوَ وَرَجُلٌ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ يَتَوَضَّآنِ مِنْ مَطْهَرَةِ الْمَسْجِدِ فَتَنَازَعَا فِي الْمَسْحِ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ فَقَالَ بِلَالٌ «كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَمْسَحُ عَلَى الْمُوقَيْنِ وَالْخِمَارِ»
"The Prophet wiped over the Khuff and the Khimar." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 101)
«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ مَسَحَ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ وَالْخِمَارِ»
[Machine] Bilal, the servant of Abu Bakr, narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came back from relieving himself on the day of the Battle of Tabuk. He called for water for ablution and then wiped over his socks.
أَنَّ بِلَالًا مَوْلَى أَبِي بَكْرٍ ؓ أَخْبَرَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ «أَنَّهُ أَقْبَلَ مِنَ الْغَائِطِ يَوْمَ غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ فَدَعَا بِوَضُوءٍ فَمَسَحَ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ»
3.1.28 Subsection
٣۔١۔٢٨ أَبُو جَنْدَلِ بْنُ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، وَالْحَارِثُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنْ بِلَالٍ
I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wiping over his leather slippers (when doing wudoo’). (Using translation from Aḥmad 216)
«رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَمْسَحُ عَلَى الْمُوقَيْنِ وَالْخِمَارِ»
[Machine] "He saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wiping over the turban and the socks."
«أَنَّهُ رَأَى رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَمْسَحُ عَلَى الْعِمَامَةِ وَالْمُوقَيْنِ»
[Machine] Bilal wiped over his ankles, so they asked him, "What is this for?" He said, "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wiping over his socks and his headscarf." Mammar did not mention Abu Idris in his narration, and this is also narrated by Yahya ibn Abi Ishaq from Abu Qilabah.
مَسَحَ بِلَالٌ عَلَى مُوقَيْهِ فَقِيلَ لَهُ مَا هَذَا؟ قَالَ «رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَمْسَحُ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ وَالْخِمَارِ» لَمْ يَذْكُرْ مَعْمَرٌ فِي حَدِيثِهِ أَبَا إِدْرِيسَ وَكَذَلِكَ رَوَاهُ يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ
The Messenger of Allah wiped over his leather socks and his head cover (i.e., over the Imamah). (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 561)
«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ مَسَحَ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ وَالْخِمَارِ»
[Machine] "He was sitting in Damascus on a cold day, performing ablution. Bilal, the caller to prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, passed by him, so he asked Bilal, 'How did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ perform ablution?' Bilal replied, 'He would wipe over his two socks and headscarf.'"
أَنَّهُ كَانَ قَاعِدًا بِدِمَشْقَ فِي يَوْمٍ بَارِدٍ يَتَوَضَّأُ فَمَرَّ بِهِ بِلَالٌ مُؤَذِّنُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا بِلَالُ كَيْفَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَتَوَضَّأُ؟ قَالَ «يَمْسَحُ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ وَالْخِمَارِ»
"The Prophet wiped over the Khuff and the Khimar." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 101)
«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ تَوَضَّأَ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ وَالْخِمَارِ»
