I came to Ibn 'Abbas who was leaning against his sheet of cloth in the Sacred Mosque (al-Masjid al-Haram). I asked him about fasting on the day of 'Ashurah. He said: When you sight the moon of al-Muharram, count (the days). When the 9th of Muharram comes, fast from the morning. I said: Would Muhammad ﷺ observe this fast ? He replied: Thus Muhammad ﷺ used to fast. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2446)

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, the first person to deny Adam was Allah when He created him and wiped his back, and then He brought forth his offspring and everything that will exist until the Day of Resurrection and He made them pass before him. He saw among them a man with a radiant face, so he said, 'O Lord, who is this?' He said, 'This is your son Dawud.' He said, 'O Lord, how old is he?' He said, 'Sixty years.' He said, 'O Lord, increase his age.' He said, 'No, except by adding to his age from your own age.' And Adam's age was one thousand years, so He granted him forty years from His own age.' He said, 'So He wrote that for him in a book and the angels testified to it.' And when Adam's death approached, the angels came to receive him. He said, 'Indeed, there are still forty years of my life remaining.' They said, 'Indeed, you have given them as a gift to your son Dawud.' He said, 'I have not done that; I have not given him anything.' So Allah revealed the book and the angels testified to it. So Allah completed for Adam one thousand years and completed for Dawud one hundred years."
[Machine] From the Prophet ﷺ, he said: Gabriel, ﷺ , said, "Prayer has been made beloved to you, so take from it what you wish."
[Machine] The Surah Al-An'am was revealed in Mecca at night, and around it were seventy thousand angels chanting praise.
[Machine] A woman came to me seeking my allegiance. I took her to an enclosed place and I hit her with my hand and attempted to seduce her. I did everything with her except sexual intercourse. Umar said to him, "Woe to you, perhaps she is pregnant." He replied, "Yes." Umar said to him, "Go to Abu Bakr and ask him." So he went to him and told him what he had said to Umar. Abu Bakr said to him, "Woe to you, perhaps she is pregnant." He then went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and told him the same thing he had told Abu Bakr and Umar. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, "Woe to you, perhaps she is fighting for the cause of Allah." He replied, "Yes." Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ remained silent and the Quran was revealed, "Establish prayer at the two ends of the day and at the approach of the night." until the end of the verse. The man said, "O Messenger of Allah, is this command specific to me or for the general public?" Umar raised his hand and struck his own chest and said, "No, by Allah, not for the sake of power, but for the general public." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ laughed and said, "Umar has spoken the truth."
that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "When Allah drowned Fir'awn he said: 'I believe that there is no god except the One that the children of Isra'il believe in.' So Jibrail said: 'O Muhammad! If you could only have seen me, while I was taking (the mud) from the sea, and filling his mouth out of fear that the mercy would reach him.'" (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3107)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There is no one from the children of Adam except that they have made a mistake or have been preoccupied with a sin, except for Yahya ibn Zakariyya."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to us, and his companion was Usama bin Zaid. We gave him some of this drink, meaning the drink of sikaiah. He said, "You have done well, so do the same."
[Machine] We recited it during the time of the Prophet ﷺ for two years: "And those who do not invoke with Allah another deity or kill the soul which Allah has forbidden [to be killed], except by right, and do not commit unlawful sexual intercourse." Then the verse was revealed, "Except for those who repent." "So I have never seen the Prophet ﷺ rejoice more than he did with it." And with, "Indeed, We have granted you a clear conquest."
قَرَأْنَاهَا عَلَى عَهْدِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ سَنَتَيْنِ {وَالَّذِينَ لَا يَدْعُونَ مَعَ اللهِ إِلَهًا آخَرَ وَلَا يَقْتُلُونَ النَّفْسَ الَّتِي حَرَّمَ اللهُ إِلَّا بِالْحَقِّ وَلَا يَزْنُونَ} الْآيَةَ ثُمَّ نَزَلَتْ {إِلَّا مَنْ تَابَ} «فَمَا رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَرِحَ فَرَحًا قَطُّ أَشَدَّ مِنْهُ بِهَا» وَبِ {إِنَّا فَتَحْنَا لَكَ فَتْحًا مُبِينًا}
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ circled the Kaaba on his mount, touching the corner with his staff.
[Machine] "We were sitting in a circle in the mosque, discussing the virtues of the prophets and which one is the greatest. We mentioned Noah and his long worship of his Lord, and we mentioned Abraham, the beloved of the Most Merciful. We mentioned Moses, the one who spoke to Allah, and we mentioned Jesus, the son of Mary. We also mentioned the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . While we were doing so, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to us and asked, 'What are you discussing?' We said, 'O Messenger of Allah, we are discussing the virtues of the prophets and which one is the greatest. We mentioned Noah and his long worship, and we mentioned Abraham, the beloved of the Most Merciful. We mentioned Moses, the one who spoke to Allah, and we mentioned Jesus, the son of Mary. And we mentioned you, O Messenger of Allah.' He asked, 'So who do you consider the greatest?' We said, 'We consider you the greatest, O Messenger of Allah, because Allah has sent you as a mercy to all people, and He has forgiven your past and future sins, and you are the seal of the prophets.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'It is not appropriate for anyone to say that he is better than Yahya ibn Zakariya.' We asked, 'O Messenger of Allah, why is that?' He said, 'Have you not heard how Allah described him in the Quran, saying, "O Yahya, take the scripture with determination." And We gave him judgement while still a boy. And affection from Us and purity, and he was fearing of Allah. And dutiful to his parents, and he was not a disobedient tyrant. And ﷺ on the day he was born and the day he dies and the day he is raised alive."'"

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "There is not a single person except that there is wisdom in his head, held by an angel. When he humbles himself, it is said to the angel, 'Raise his wisdom.' And when he becomes arrogant, it is said to the angel, 'Lower his wisdom.'"
[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw in his sleep two angels. One of them sat at his feet and the other at his head. The one at his feet said to the one at his head, "Give me an example like this and an example of his nation." He said, "Verily, the example of him and his nation is like a group of travelers who ended up at a place where they needed provisions to cut and provisions to return with. While they were in that situation, a man who was wearing a green garment came to them and said, 'Do you follow me if I lead you to green pastures and lush gardens?' They said, 'Yes.' So he led them to green pastures and lush gardens, and they ate, drank, and became healthy. Then he said to them, 'Did I not lead you in this condition?' They said, 'Yes.' Then he said, 'What if I were to lead you to green pastures and lush gardens, would you follow me?' They said, 'Yes.' Then a group of them said, 'By Allah, we will follow him,' and another group said, 'We are pleased with it and will adhere to it.'"

[Machine] It is reported that the Prophet ﷺ performed cupping while in a state of Ihram.
Ibn 'Abbas reported that Messenger of Allah ﷺ stayed in Mecca for thirteen years (after he had received revelation) and stayed in Medina for ten years, and he was sixty-three when he died. (Using translation from Muslim 2351b)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out while saying, "One of the characteristics of the religion is to be hospitable to the Bedouins and to choose their dwellings in the urban areas."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ wrote to a tribe of the Arabs inviting them to Islam, but they did not accept the message and returned to the Prophet ﷺ to inform him. He said, "If I were to send it to a people in the outskirts of ‘Uman of the Azd Shanu‘ah (tribe) and they embraced Islam, they would have received it." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent a message to al-Julandi inviting him to Islam, and he accepted and embraced Islam. He then sent a gift to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, but the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had already passed away. Abu Bakr made the gift an inheritance and divided it between Fatimah and the people.

Abu Dharr said, 'You haven't cured me.' Then he took a shana (water container) filled with water and herbs, and left until he reached Makkah. He tried to ask someone about the matter, but he didn't find the Messenger of Allah ﷺ until it was late at night. When he resolved to return, Ali bin Abi Talib passed by him and asked, 'Who is this man?' Abu Dharr answered, 'A man from Ghifar.' Ali said, 'Follow my footsteps, for if I see anything that I fear for you, I will stand up as if I urinate and then return to you, but if I don't see anything, follow my footsteps.' So, Ali went the next day, and Abu Dharr followed him until they entered upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. They informed him of their news and heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and then they embraced Islam. Abu Dharr asked the Prophet, 'Order me with something.' He replied, 'Return to your people until you receive news from me.' Abu Dharr said, 'No, by Allah, I will not return until I scream out Islam.' So, he went to the mosque and called for prayer, saying, 'I bear witness that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.' The polytheists said, 'This man (Abu Dharr) has caused mischief.' They beat him until he fell. Abbas bin Abd al-Muttalib passed by him and turned towards him, saying, 'O people of Quraysh, you are merchants and your way is through Ghifar. Do you want us to cut off the trade route from you?' So, they refrained from him. When the second day came, he returned and said the same words. They beat him again, and Abbas passed by them and said the same thing. This was the beginning of Abu Dharr's embracing of Islam."
