The angels will say, 'Was not the earth of Allah spacious [enough] for you to emigrate therein?' For those, their refuge is Hell - and evil it is as a destination.' They will say, 'They were weak and oppressed in the land.' They will say, 'They were a company from among the believers who had gone out [to battle] defiantly with those who disbelieved, and they were killed in battle.' So Allah caused this verse to be revealed, 'Except for the oppressed among men, women, and children who cannot devise a plan nor are they directed to a way.' For those it is expected that Allah will pardon them.' So Allah pardoned them. And Allah is accepting of repentance and merciful.' Ibn Abbas said, 'It was I and my mother who had an excuse among them.'"
