I and Makhrafah al-Abdi imported some garments from Hajar, and brought them to Mecca. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to us walking, and after he had bargained with us for some trousers, we sold them to him. There was a man who was weighing for payment. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him: Weigh out and give overweight.

جَلَبْتُ أَنَا وَمَخْرَمَةُ الْعَبْدِيُّ بَزًّا مِنْ هَجَرَ فَأَتَيْنَا بِهِ مَكَّةَ فَجَاءَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَمْشِي فَسَاوَمَنَا بِسَرَاوِيلَ فَبِعْنَاهُ وَثَمَّ رَجُلٌ يَزِنُ بِالأَجْرِ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ زِنْ وَأَرْجِحْ

"Makhrafah Al-'Abdi and I brought linens from Hajar. The Prophet ﷺ came to us in bargain with us with some pants. There was someone with me who weighed (the goods) to determine the value. So the the Prophet ﷺ said to the one weighing: 'Weigh and add more.'" [He said:] There are narrations on this topic from Jabir and Abu Hurairah.

جَلَبْتُ أَنَا وَمَخْرَفَةُ الْعَبْدِيُّ بَزًّا مِنْ هَجَرَ فَجَاءَنَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَسَاوَمَنَا بِسَرَاوِيلَ وَعِنْدِي وَزَّانٌ يَزِنُ بِالأَجْرِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ لِلْوَزَّانِ زِنْ وَأَرْجِحْ قَالَ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ وَأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

"Makhrafah Al-Abdi and I brought some cloth from Hajar, and the Messenger of Allah came to us while we were in Mina where there w a man who weighed (goods) in return for payment. He bought some trousers from us, and said to the man who weighed: 'Weigh it, and allow more."'

[AI] I and the slave girl, Makhrama, brought some dates from Bahrain to Makkah. Then the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, came and walked towards us. He either asked for or bought some trousers from us, and then he weighed them with a balance and said to the one weighing, "Weigh and make it heavier." When he walked away, they said, "This is the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him."

جَلَبْتُ أَنَا وَمَخْرَمَةُ الْعَبْدِيُّ بَزًّا مِنَ الْبَحْرَيْنِ إِلَى مَكَّةَ فَأَتَانَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَمْشِي فَسَاوَمَنَا بِسَرَاوِيلَ أَوِ اشْتَرَى مِنَّا سَرَاوِيلَ وَثَمَّ وَزَّانٌ يَزِنُ بِالْأَجْرِ فَقَالَ لِلْوَزَّانِ «زِنْ وَأَرْجِحْ» فَلَمَّا ذَهَبَ يَمْشِي قَالُوا هَذَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ

جَلَبْتُ أَنَا وَمَخْرَمَةُ الْعَبْدِيُّ ثِيَابًامِنْ هَجَرَ قَالَ فَأَتَانَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَسَاوَمَنَا فِي سَرَاوِيلَ وَعِنْدَنَا وَزَّانُونَ يَزِنُونَ بِالْأَجْرِ فَقَالَ لِلْوَزَّانِ زِنْ وَأَرْجِحْ

[AI] I and Makhrama Al-Abdi brought some goat meat from Hajr or Al-Bahrain. When we were in Mina, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to us and bought pants, a cloak, and scales that weigh with stones. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ paid us the price and said, "Weigh and balance." This was narrated by Shu'bah from Samaak ibn Harb.

[AI] We left with a group of traders who sell silk and they had a scale to weigh with. We arrived in Mecca and the Prophet ﷺ bought trousers from them. He said to the scales owner, "Weigh and balance it."
