"اعْتَبِروُا عَقْلَ الرجل في ثلاثٍ: في طولِ لحيته، وكُنْيَتِه، ونَقْشِ خاتِمَه".  

(الديلمى من حديث عمرو بن العاص، وسنده واه، وفي لفظ له نحوه، وإنه مكتوب في التوراة: لا يغرنك طولُ اللحى، فإِنَّ التيس له لحية)
