"عَنِ الشَّعْبِىِّ قَالَ: اصْطَرَعَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ وَخَالِدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ وَهُمَا غُلَامَانِ، وَكَانَ خَالِدُ ابْنَ خَالِ عُمَرَ، فَكَسَرَ خَالِدٌ سَاقَ عُمَرَ، فَعَرِجَتْ وَجُبِرَتْ، فَكَانَ ذَلِكَ سَبَبَ الْعَدَاوَةِ بَيْنَهُمَا".
