[Machine] While we were around the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, if he mentioned Fitnah or it was mentioned in his presence, he would say, "When you see people breaking their covenant and trust becoming weak, and they act in this way." He would intertwine his fingers and say, "Then rise and take care of your affairs. Control your tongue and take what you know and leave what you do not. And be concerned with your own matters and leave the matters of the public."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "How will it be for you when you are left amongst the people's dregs, where their covenants and trusts have been broken, and they have become like this?" And he intertwined his fingers. He said, "What do you command me, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "Hold onto what you know and leave what you reject, and focus on yourself and leave the common people."

"إِذَا رأيتَ الناسَ قدْ مَرِجَتْ عُهودُهْم، وخفَّتْ أمَاناتُهم، وكانوا هكذا -وشبِّك بينَ أناملهِ- فالزمْ بيتَكَ، وامْلِكْ عليكَ لسانك، وخُذْ ما تَعِرفُ، ودعْ ما تُنكرُ، وعليكَ بخاصةِ أَمرِ نْفسِكَ، ودعْ عنك أمْر العامةِ".
"كَيفَ بِكَ إِذَا بَقِيتَ لي حُثَالة مِنْ النَّاسِ قَدْ، مَرِجَتْ عُهُودُهُم وَأَمَانَاتِهمْ وَاخْتَلَفُوا - فَصَارُوا هَكَذَا - وَشَبَّكَ بَينَ أَصَابِعِهِ؟ قَال: الله وَرَسولُهُ أَعْلَمُ. قَال: اعْمَلْ بمَا تَعْرِفُ، وَدع مَا تُنْكِرُ، وَإياكَ وَالتَّلَوُّنَ فِي دِينِ الله، وَعَلَيكَ بِخَاصَّةِ نَفْسِكَ، وَدَعْ عَوَامَّهُمْ".
