26 Yahya related to me from Malik from Abu Ubayd, the mawla of Sulayman ibn Abd alMalik, from Ubada ibn Nusayy from Qays ibn al Harith that Abu Abdullah as-Sunabihi said, "I arrived in Madina in the khalifate of Abu Bakr as-Siddiq, and I prayed maghrib behind him. He recited the umm al Qur'an and two suras from the shorter ones of the mufassal in the first two rakas. Then he stood up in the third and I drew so near to him that my clothes were almost touching his clothes. I heard him reciting the umm al-Qur'an and this ayat, 'Our Lord, do not make our hearts go astray after You have guided us, and give us mercy from Your presence. Surely You are the Giver. ' " (Sura 3 ayat 8)
[Machine] He arrived in the city during the caliphate of Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq and prayed behind him the Maghrib prayer. Abu Bakr recited in the first two units from the mother of the Quran and a short surah. Then, in the third unit, he stood up and I approached him until my clothes were almost touching his clothes. I heard him recite from the mother of the Quran and this verse, "Our Lord, let not our hearts deviate after You have guided us and grant us from Yourself mercy. Indeed, You are the Bestower" [Al-Imran 8].

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, blessings and ﷺ , used to recite Umm Al-Quran (Surah Al-Fatiha) and two other surahs along with it in the first two units of the Dhuhr prayer and the Asr prayer. Sometimes, he would also recite a verse out loud. He would also extend the first unit of the prayer.
[Machine] He arrived in the city during the caliphate of Abu Bakr al-Siddiq, and he prayed behind Abu Bakr al-Maghrib. Abu Bakr recited in the first two units of prayer from the mother of the Quran and a surah from the shorter, detailed ones. Then he stood for the third unit of prayer and I approached him until my clothes almost touched his clothes. I heard him recite from the mother of the Quran and this verse: "Our Lord, let not our hearts deviate after You have guided us and grant us from Yourself mercy. Indeed, You are the Bestower" [Al-Imran 8]. Abu Sa'id added in his narration, Shafi'i said and Sufyan ibn 'Uyaynah said, when 'Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz heard this from Abu Bakr al-Siddiq, he said, "If I hadn't heard this before, I would have taken it."
