It was narrated from Ibrahim and Sa'eed bin Jubair that they did not see anything wrong with renting uncultivated land.  

النسائي:٣٩٣٤ – أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ

عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَسَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ أَنَّهُمَا كَانَا لاَ يَرَيَانِ بَأْسًا بِاسْتِئْجَارِ الأَرْضِ الْبَيْضَاءِ
