Ibn 'Umar used to dye his garments with saffron. He was asked about that and he said: "The Messenger of Allah [SAW] used to dye his clothes (with it)."  

حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ كَانَ يَصْبُغُ ثِيَابَهُ بِالزَّعْفَرَانِ فَقِيلَ لَهُ فَقَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَصْبُغُ
