The Prophet ﷺ fixed Dhul-Hulaifa as the Miqat for the people of Medina, Al-Juhfa, for the people of Sham, Yalamlam for the people of Yemen, and Qarn for the people of Najd. And these Mawaqit are for those living at those very places, and besides them for those who come through those places with the intention of performing Hajj and Umra; and whoever is living inside these places can assume lhram from his own dwelling place, and the people of Mecca can assume lhram from Mecca. الكبرى للنسائي:٣٦٢٤وَأَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ عَمْرٍو عَنْ طَاوُسٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

Ibn ʿUmar further said, "The people consider that Messenger of Allah ﷺ had also said, 'The residents of Yemen should assume Ihram from Yalamlam.' " Ibn ʿUmar used to say, "I do not: remember whether Messenger of Allah ﷺ had said the last statement or not?"

So, these (above mentioned) are the Mawaqit for all those living at those places, and besides them for those who come through those places with the intention of performing Hajj and ʿUmra and whoever lives within these places should assume Ihram from his dwelling place, and similarly the people of Mecca can assume lhram from Mecca.

These Mawaqit are for those people and also for those who come through these Mawaqit (from places other than the above-mentioned) with the intention of (performing) Hajj and Umra. And those living inside these Mawaqit can assume Ihram from the place where they start; even the people of Mecca can assume Ihram from Mecca.

Ibn 'Abbas (Allah be pleased with them) reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ specified Dhu'l-Hulaifa, for the people of Medina; Juhfa for the people of Syria; Qarn al-Manazil, for the people of Najd; Yalamlam for the people of Yemen (the Mawaqit) and those (Mawaqit) are also meant for those who live at these (places) and for those too who come from without towards them for the sake of Hajj or 'Umra. And those who live within them (within the bounds of these places) or in the suburbs of Mecca or within Mecca, they should enter upon the state of Ihram at these very places.

These are (Mawaqit) of them too (who live there) and everyone who comes from outside (through) their (directions) for the sake of Hajj and 'Umra and for those who live within (those bounds their Miqat is that) from which they commenced (their journey), and for the people of Mecca, Mecca itself is (the Miqat).

The people of Medina should enter upon the state of Ihram at Dhu'l-Hulaifa, and people of Syria at Juhfa, and people of Najd at Qarn (al-Manazil), and 'Abdullah (further) said: It has reached me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ also caid: The people of Yemen should enter upon the state of Ihram at Yalamlam.

The people of Medina should enter upon the state of Ihram at Dhu'l-Hulaifa; the people of Syria at Juhfa, the people of Najd at Qarn (al-Manazil). Ibn 'Umar (Allah be pleased with them) said: It was mentioned to me but I did not myself bear it (directly) from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ having said this: The people of Yemen should enter upon the state of Ihram at Yalamlam.

The Messenger of Allah (SWAS) appointed the following places for putting on Ihram : Dhul al-Hulaifah for the people of Madina, al-Juhfah for the people of Syria and al-Qarn for the people of Najd and have been told that appointed Yalamlam for the people of Yemen.

وَقَّتَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لأَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ ذَا الْحُلَيْفَةِ وَلأَهْلِ الشَّامِ الْجُحْفَةَ وَلأَهْلِ نَجْدٍ قَرْنًا وَبَلَغَنِي أَنَّهُ وَقَّتَ لأَهْلِ الْيَمَنِ يَلَمْلَمَ

The Messenger of Allah (SWAS) appointed places for putting on Ihram and narrated the rest of the tradition to the same effect (as mentioned above). One of them said and Yalamlam for the people of Yemen. The other narrator said Alamlam. These (places for Ihram) are appointed for these regions and for people of other regions who come to them intending to perform Hajj and ʿUmrah. The place where those who live nearer to Makkah should put on Ihram from where they start and so on up to the inhabitants of Makkah itself who put on Ihram in it. This is the version of Ibn Tawus.

عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالاَ وَقَّتَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِمَعْنَاهُ قَالَ أَحَدُهُمَا وَلأَهْلِ الْيَمَنِ يَلَمْلَمَ وَقَالَ أَحَدُهُمَا أَلَمْلَمَ قَالَ فَهُنَّ لَهُمْ وَلِمَنْ أَتَى عَلَيْهِنَّ مِنْ غَيْرِ أَهْلِهِنَّ مِمَّنْ كَانَ يُرِيدُ الْحَجَّ وَالْعُمْرَةَ وَمَنْ كَانَ دُونَ ذَلِكَ قَالَ ابْنُ طَاوُسٍ مِنْ حَيْثُ أَنْشَأَ قَالَ وَكَذَلِكَ حَتَّى أَهْلُ مَكَّةَ يُهِلُّونَ مِنْهَا

A man said: "Where should we begin our Hil (Ihram) O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "The people of Al-Madinah begin their Hil (Ihram) from Dhul-Hulaifah, the people from Ash-Sham from Al-Juhfah, and the people of Najd from Qarn." And he (Ibn Umar) said: ("And they say:) "And the people of Yemen from Yalamlam."

Ibn 'Umar said: "And they say that the Messenger of Allah said: 'the people of Yemen should enter into Ihram from Yalamlam.''' He said: "They are for them, and for anyone who comes to them from elsewhere. If a person's place of residence is within the boundary of the Miqat, then (he should enter into Ihram) from where he starts his journey, and this also applies to the people of Makkah.''(Sihah)

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that the Prophet designated Dhul-Hulaifah as the Miqat for the people of Al-Madinah, Al-Juhfah for the people of Ash-shamham, Yalmlam for the people of Yemen, and Qarn for the people of Najd. They are for them and for those who pass by them who are not of their people, intending to perform Hajj or 'Umrah. So, whoever’s residence is beyond these points, then his Ihram (ritual state) starts from where he passes through, and likewise, until the people of Makkah, their Ihram begins from where they pass through."

[AI] The Messenger of Allahﷺ said: "The people of Madinah will perform Ihram from Dhi'l-Hulayfah, the people of Sham (Greater Syria) will perform Ihram from al-Juhfah, the people of Yemen will perform Ihram from Yalamlam, and the people of Najd will perform Ihram from Qarn. As for the women, they will perform Ihram from their homes, and this applies to anyone who comes to them for Hajj or Umrah. And whoever's house is beyond the miqat (specified boundary for Ihram), then he should perform Ihram from his house until he comes to the people of Makkah, as I have performed Ihram from Yalamlam when I came from 'Abdul-Razzaq's place."

أحمد:٣٠٦٥حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ ابْنِ طَاوُسٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ مَرَّةً عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فَقُلْتُ لِمَعْمَرٍ لَمْ يَكُنْ يُجَاوِزُ بِهِ طَاوُسًا؟ فَقَالَ بَلَى هُوَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ ثُمَّ سَمِعَهُ يَذْكُرُهُ بَعْدُ وَلَا يَذْكُرُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُهِلُّ أَهْلُ الْمَدِينَةِ مِنْ ذِي الْحُلَيْفَةِ وَيُهِلُّ أَهْلُ الشَّامِ مِنَ الْجُحْفَةِ وَيُهِلُّ أَهْلُ الْيَمَنِ مِنْ يَلَمْلَمَ وَيُهِلُّ أَهْلُ نَجْدٍ مِنْ قَرْنٍ وَهُنَّ لَهُنَّ وَلِمَنْ أَتَى عَلَيْهِنَّ مِمَّنْ سِوَاهُمْ مِمَّنْ أَرَادَ الْحَجَّ وَالْعُمْرَةَ وَمَنْ كَانَ بَيْتُهُ مِنْ دُونِ الْمِيقَاتِ فَإِنَّهُ يُهِلُّ مِنْ بَيْتِهِ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَ عَلَى أَهْلِ مَكَّةَ قَدْ أَحْرَمْتُ مِنْ يَلَمْلَمَ حِينَ جِئْتُ مِنْ عِنْدِ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ

"The Messenger of 'Allah designated Dhul-Hulaifah as the Miqat for the people of Al-Madinah, Al-Juhfah for the people of Ash-sham, Qarn for the people of Najd, and Yalamalam for the people of Yemen. He aid: "They are for them and for those who pass by them who are not of their people who intend to perform Hajj and 'Umrah. If a person's place of residence is within the boundary of the Miqat, then (he should enter into Ihram) from where he starts his journey, and this also applies to the people of Makkah.'' [AI] A man asked the Prophet ﷺ from where should he enter the state of ihram (pilgrim's sacred state)? He replied, "The people of Al-Madinah should enter ihram from Dhul-Hulayfah, the people of Ash-Sham (Greater Syria) should enter ihram from Al-Juhfah, the people of Yemen should enter ihram from Yalamlam, and the people of Najd should enter ihram from Qarn." Ibn 'Umar also stated that people with a lineage to Qarn should enter ihram from there.

[AI] About the Prophetﷺ the people of Najd migrate from Qarn, the people of Sham (Greater Syria) from Juḥfah, and the people of Yemen from Yalamlam, and Ibn Umar did not hear him (the Prophet), but the Prophetﷺ heard the migrators from the people of Madinah from Thiyal-Hulayfah. They said to him: "So where are the people of Iraq?" Ibn Umar said: "There were none that day."

"O Messenger of Allah, from where do you command us to enter Ihram?'' The Messenger of Allah Said: "The people of Al-Madinah should enter Ihram from Dhul-Hulaifah, the people of Ash-sham should enter Ihram from Al-Juhfah, the people of Najd should enter Ihram from Qarn.'' Ibn 'Umar said: "And they say that the Messenger of Allah said: 'the people of Yemen should enter into Ihram from Yalamlam.''' And 'Ibn 'Umar used to say: "I did not hear this from the Messenger of Allah.''' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2652)

Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi from Abdullah ibn Umar that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The people of Madina should enter ihram at Dhu'l-Hulayfa, the people of Syria should do so at al-Juhfa, and the people of Najd should do so at Qarn." Abdullah ibn Umar added, "I have heard that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'The people of Yemen should enter ihram at Yalamlam.' "

Yahya related to me from Malik from Abdullah ibn Dinar that Abdullah ibn Umar said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ told the people of Madina to enter ihram at Dhu'l-Hulayfa, the people of Syria to do so at al-Juhfa, and the people of Najd to do so at Qarn.' Abdullah ibn Umar said, "I heard these three from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. I was also told that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'The people of Yemen should enter ihram at Yalamlam.' "

ذِكْرُ الْأَمْرِ لِمَنْ أَرَادَ الْحَجَّ أَوِ الْعُمْرَةَ أَنْ يُحْرِمَ مِنَ الْمَوَاقِيتِ

"The people of Al-Madinah should enter into Ihram from Dhul-Hulaifah, the people of Ash-sham from Al-Juhfah, the people of Najd from Qarn." 'Abdullah said: "And it was conveyed to me, that the Messenger of Allah said: 'And the people of Yemen should enter into Ihram from Yalamlam.''' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2651)

[AI] A man called the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Where should we collect honey from?" The Prophet ﷺ replied, "The people of Madinah should collect honey from the hailfah tree, the people of Sham should collect honey from the ghufah tree, and the people of Najd should collect honey from the qarn tree." Abdullah ibn Umar said that they claim that he also said, "The people of Yemen should collect honey from the lamlam tree." Yahya doubted this.

The Prophet ﷺ fixed Dhul-Hulaifa as the Miqat for the people of Medina, Al-Juhfa, for the people of Sham, Yalamlam for the people of Yemen, and Qarn for the people of Najd. And these Mawaqit are for those living at those very places, and besides them for those who come through those places with the intention of performing Hajj and Umra; and whoever is living inside these places can assume lhram from his own dwelling place, and the people of Mecca can assume lhram from Mecca.
