The Prophet ﷺ fixed Dhul-Hulaifa as the Miqat for the people of Medina, Al-Juhfa, for the people of Sham, Yalamlam for the people of Yemen, and Qarn for the people of Najd. And these Mawaqit are for those living at those very places, and besides them for those who come through those places with the intention of performing Hajj and Umra; and whoever is living inside these places can assume lhram from his own dwelling place, and the people of Mecca can assume lhram from Mecca. So, these (above mentioned) are the Mawaqit for all those living at those places, and besides them for those who come through those places with the intention of performing Hajj and ʿUmra and whoever lives within these places should assume Ihram from his dwelling place, and similarly the people of Mecca can assume lhram from Mecca.

Ibn 'Abbas (Allah be pleased with them) reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ specified Dhu'l-Hulaifa, for the people of Medina; Juhfa for the people of Syria; Qarn al-Manazil, for the people of Najd; Yalamlam for the people of Yemen (the Mawaqit) and those (Mawaqit) are also meant for those who live at these (places) and for those too who come from without towards them for the sake of Hajj or 'Umra. And those who live within them (within the bounds of these places) or in the suburbs of Mecca or within Mecca, they should enter upon the state of Ihram at these very places.

These are (Mawaqit) of them too (who live there) and everyone who comes from outside (through) their (directions) for the sake of Hajj and 'Umra and for those who live within (those bounds their Miqat is that) from which they commenced (their journey), and for the people of Mecca, Mecca itself is (the Miqat).

He said: "They are for them, and for anyone who comes to them from elsewhere. If a person's place of residence is within the boundary of the Miqat, then (he should enter into Ihram) from where he starts his journey, and this also applies to the people of Makkah.''(Sihah)

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that the Prophet designated Dhul-Hulaifah as the Miqat for the people of Al-Madinah, Al-Juhfah for the people of Ash-shamham, Yalmlam for the people of Yemen, and Qarn for the people of Najd. They are for them and for those who pass by them who are not of their people, intending to perform Hajj or 'Umrah. If a person's place of residence is within the boundary of they Miqat, then (he should enter Ihram) from where he starts his journey, and this also applies to the people of Makkah.

The Messenger of Allah (SWAS) appointed places for putting on Ihram and narrated the rest of the tradition to the same effect (as mentioned above). One of them said and Yalamlam for the people of Yemen. The other narrator said Alamlam. These (places for Ihram) are appointed for these regions and for people of other regions who come to them intending to perform Hajj and ʿUmrah. The place where those who live nearer to Makkah should put on Ihram from where they start and so on up to the inhabitants of Makkah itself who put on Ihram in it. This is the version of Ibn Tawus.

أحمد:٢٢٧٢حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ طَاوُسٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَقَّتَ لِأَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ ذَا الْحُلَيْفَةِ وَلِأَهْلِ الشَّامِ الْجُحْفَةَ وَلِأَهْلِ نَجْدٍ قَرْنَ الْمَنَازِلِ وَلِأَهْلِ الْيَمَنِ يَلَمْلَمَ هُنَّ لَهُمْ وَلِكُلِّ آتٍ أَتَى عَلَيْهِنَّ مِنْ غَيْرِهِنَّ مِمَّنْ أَرَادَ الْحَجَّ وَالْعُمْرَةَ فَمَنْ كَانَ مِنْ دُونِ ذَلِكَ فَمِنْ حَيْثُ أَنْشَأَ حَتَّى أَهْلُ مَكَّةَ مِنْ مَكَّةَ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allahﷺ said: "The people of Madinah will perform Ihram from Dhi'l-Hulayfah, the people of Sham (Greater Syria) will perform Ihram from al-Juhfah, the people of Yemen will perform Ihram from Yalamlam, and the people of Najd will perform Ihram from Qarn. As for the women, they will perform Ihram from their homes, and this applies to anyone who comes to them for Hajj or Umrah. And whoever's house is beyond the miqat (specified boundary for Ihram), then he should perform Ihram from his house until he comes to the people of Makkah, as I have performed Ihram from Yalamlam when I came from 'Abdul-Razzaq's place."  

أحمد:٣٠٦٥حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ ابْنِ طَاوُسٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ مَرَّةً عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فَقُلْتُ لِمَعْمَرٍ لَمْ يَكُنْ يُجَاوِزُ بِهِ طَاوُسًا؟ فَقَالَ بَلَى هُوَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ ثُمَّ سَمِعَهُ يَذْكُرُهُ بَعْدُ وَلَا يَذْكُرُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُهِلُّ أَهْلُ الْمَدِينَةِ مِنْ ذِي الْحُلَيْفَةِ وَيُهِلُّ أَهْلُ الشَّامِ مِنَ الْجُحْفَةِ وَيُهِلُّ أَهْلُ الْيَمَنِ مِنْ يَلَمْلَمَ وَيُهِلُّ أَهْلُ نَجْدٍ مِنْ قَرْنٍ وَهُنَّ لَهُنَّ وَلِمَنْ أَتَى عَلَيْهِنَّ مِمَّنْ سِوَاهُمْ مِمَّنْ أَرَادَ الْحَجَّ وَالْعُمْرَةَ وَمَنْ كَانَ بَيْتُهُ مِنْ دُونِ الْمِيقَاتِ فَإِنَّهُ يُهِلُّ مِنْ بَيْتِهِ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَ عَلَى أَهْلِ مَكَّةَ قَدْ أَحْرَمْتُ مِنْ يَلَمْلَمَ حِينَ جِئْتُ مِنْ عِنْدِ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ appointed Dhul-Hulayfah for the people of Madinah, Juhefah for the people of Ash-Sham, Yalamlam for the people of Yemen, and Qarn for the people of Najd. He said, "These are the places for the people of these regions, and for those who pass through them from other than their residents, intending to perform Hajj and Umrah. So, whoever’s residence is beyond these points, then his Ihram (ritual state) starts from where he passes through, and likewise, until the people of Makkah, their Ihram begins from where they pass through."

Messenger of Allah ﷺ made Dhul-Huiaifa as the Miqat for the people of Medina; Al-Juhfa for the people of Sham; Qarn-al-Manazil for the people of Najd; and Yalamlam for the people of Yemen; and these Mawaqit are for the people at those very places, and besides them for those who come thorough those places with the intention of performing Hajj and ʿUmra; and whoever is living within these boundaries can assume lhram from the place he starts, and the people of Mecca can assume Ihram from Mecca. (Using translation from Bukhārī 1524)

[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , designated the time of arrival for the people of Madinah at Dhul-Hulayfah, for the people of Sham at Juhfah, for the people of Najd at Qarn, and for the people of Yemen at Yalamlam. And whoever arrives from wherever they come, intending to perform Hajj or Umrah, should enter the state of Ihram from their current location until the people of Makkah from Makkah."

ʿAbdullah bin ʿUmar said: "A man got up in the mosque and said: O Messenger of Allah ﷺ 'At which place you order us that we should assume the Ihram?' Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, 'The residents of Medina should assure the Ihram from Dhil-Hulaifa, the people of Syria from Al-Juhfa and the people of Najd from Qarn." Ibn ʿUmar further said, "The people consider that Messenger of Allah ﷺ had also said, 'The residents of Yemen should assume Ihram from Yalamlam.' " Ibn ʿUmar used to say, "I do not: remember whether Messenger of Allah ﷺ had said the last statement or not?" (Using translation from Bukhārī 133)   

البيهقي:٨٩٠٧حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ الْعَلَوِيُّ إِمْلَاءً أنبأ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ الْبَزْمِهْرَانِيُّ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حفْصِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ حدَّثَنِي أَبِي حدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ طَهْمَانَ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ بْنِ أَبِي تَمِيمَةَ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ

أَنَّهُ قَالَ نَادَى رَجُلٌ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَقَالَ مِنْ أَيْنَ تَأْمُرُنَا أَنْ نُهِلَّ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُهِلُّ أَهْلُ الْمَدِينَةِ مِنْ ذِي الْحُلَيْفَةِ وَيُهِلُّ أَهْلُ الشَّامِ مِنَ الْجُحْفَةِ وَيُهِلُّ أَهْلُ نَجْدٍ مِنْ قَرْنٍ قَالَ وَيَقُولُونَ وَأَهْلُ الْيَمَنِ مِنْ يَلَمْلَمَ

Messenger of Allah ﷺ had fixed Dhul Hulaifa as the Miqat for the people of Medina; Al-Juhfa for the people of Sham; and Qarn Ul-Manazil for the people of Najd; and Yalamlam for the people of Yemen. So, these (above mentioned) are the Mawaqit for all those living at those places, and besides them for those who come through those places with the intention of performing Hajj and ʿUmra and whoever lives within these places should assume Ihram from his dwelling place, and similarly the people of Mecca can assume lhram from Mecca. "عن الأسود بن يزيد، عن عمرَ بن الخطاب أنه خطب الناس فقال: من أرادَ منكم الحجَّ فلا يُحرِمَنَّ إلا من ميقات، والمواقيت التى وقَّتها لكم رسول اللَّه ﷺ لأهل المدينة ومن مر بها من غيرِ أهلها ذو الحليفة، ولأهل الشام ومن مرَّ بها من غير أهلها (الجحفةُ ولأهل نجدٍ) (* *) قَرَن، ولأهل اليمن يلَملم، ولأهل العراقِ وساير الناس ذاتُ عِرقٍ".
