The rider should first greet the pedestrian, and the pedestrian the one who is seated and a small group should greet a larger group (with as-Salam-u-'Alaikum).
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُسَلِّمُ الرَّاكِبُ عَلَى الْمَاشِي وَالْمَاشِي عَلَى الْقَاعِدِ وَالْقَلِيلُ عَلَى الْكَثِيرِ

The Prophet ﷺ said, "The young should greet the old, the passer by should greet the sitting one, and the small group of persons should greet the large group of persons. "
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ يُسَلِّمُ الصَّغِيرُ عَلَى الْكَبِيرِ وَالْمَارُّ عَلَى الْقَاعِدِ وَالْقَلِيلُ عَلَى الْكَثِيرِ
Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The riding one should greet the walking one, and the walking one should greet the sitting one, and the small number of persons should greet the large number of persons."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «لِيُسَلِّمِ الْفَارِسُ عَلَى الْمَاشِي وَالْمَاشِي عَلَى الْقَاعِدِ وَالْقَلِيلُ عَلَى الْكَثِيرِ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Let the one riding greet the one walking, and the one walking greet the one sitting, and whichever of the two begins the greeting is better."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لِيُسَلِّمِ الرَّاكِبُ عَلَى الْمَاشِي وَالْمَاشِي عَلَى الْقَاعِدِ وَالْمَاشِيَانِ أَيُّهُمَا بَدَأَ فَهُوَ أَفْضَلُ»
[Machine] On the authority of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , he said: "The horse rider greets the one who is walking or standing, and the small group of people greets the larger group of people."
عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «يُسَلِّمُ الْفَارِسُ عَلَى الْمَاشِي وَالْقَائِمِ وَيُسَلِّمُ الْقَلِيلُ عَلَى الْكَثِيرِ»
[Machine] The messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The one riding should greet the one walking, and the few should greet the many."

Abu Hurayra reported that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "The person riding greets the person walking. The person walking greets the person sitting. The small group greets the large group."

"لِيُسَلِّم الصَّغِيرُ عَلَى الكَبير، وَالمَار عَلَى القَاعِدِ، وَالقَلِيلُ عَلَى الكَثِيرِ".
"لِيُسَلِّم الراكبُ عَلَى المَاشِى، وَالمَاشِى عَلَى القَاعد، وَالمَاشيَان أَيُّهُمَا بَدَأ فَهُوَ أَفْضَلُ".
"ليُسَلِّم الفَارسُ عَلَى المَاشِى وَالمَاشى عَلَى القَاعد، وَالقَليلُ عَلَى الكَثِير".
"يُسَلِّمُ الصغِيرُ عَلَى الكَبِيرِ، والمَارُّ عَلى القَاعِدِ، والقَلِيلُ عَلى الكَثِير".
"يُسَلِّمُ الراكبُ علَى المَاشِى، والمَاشِى عَلَى القَاعِدِ، والقَليلُ عَلَى الكَثِيرِ".
"يُسَلِّمُ الفَارس علَى المَاشِى، والمَاشِى عَلى القَائم، والقَليلُ عَلى الكَثِير".
